    Default HELP!!!!! NEED ADVISE

    Hello All-

    I need some advise.. I am currently taking weekly lipotropic shots and 37.5 Phen. I just finished my second week on Phen this past Wednesday. The first 5 days were great, I even lost 5 pounds. I just came from my 2nd weigh in today and the scale went up 2 pounds!! ARRRGH!! I am at a loss for words. I work out 4-5 days of week ( currently in school pursuing a dance career) So I dance for 3 hours each day Modern/Ballet.. I am drenched when I am done so I know I am working out hard but why am I gaining weight. The nurse seems to think that I am not eating enough calories... To be honest I eat two meals a day and this normally makes me full, I havent been eating "bad" food... She also says that I may be gaining muscle.. I dont know what to do at this point, she wants me to increase my calorie intake ..but I thought the key to losing weight was to decrease calories and exercise..I feel as though my body is toning up but I would like to lose FAT!! Help!!!

    I've been struggling with the " should I eat more or should I keep eating less" contrversy myself. I try to stick with varying my days between 800-900 calories somedays (I try to keep that rare) and 1000-1200 calories most other days. From what I hear a cheat day/meal once your weight loss slows down can kick your matabolism right back into gear. Today is my first cheat day since I started and I'm a bit nervous cuz I don't want to blow it but I'm going to enjoy my nice juicy steak anyway with high hopes!

    You did say you were a dancer. Dancing is an amazing cardio and strength workout. Gaining muscle sounds entirly plausable to me. I'm sure your slimming and you just may not be able to see it yet. Just stay active and eat right and even if you don't think your slimming at least your body is getting healthier, that's what keeps me motivated at least.

    Congradulations on your success so far!! Focus on what you have lost. After the 2 lbs. gain that's still 3 lbs. of fat gone for good!! Good luck on the rest of your journy. You will get there of you stick with it!

    You don't have much weight to lose. Between your highest and goal you're losing less than 20lbs. Sometimes when you weigh less, you lose weight slower. So for someone like me needing to lose 50-60lbs, 20lbs might come off for me in a month or two. For someone like you that only needs to lose 20lbs it might take you 3-6 months to lose it. Also a 2lb gain could be anything from gaining muscle, a scale change, TOM and a lot of other things.

    make sure that you eat a little something every 3 hours..this will keep your metabolism humming....I was going through the same thing and I started having something every 3 hours and it worked...even if its just a piece of fruit..or a protein shake...you need to eat to lose...

    How much water are you drinking? I weigh almost everyday even though your not supposed to. But I have noticed when I don't drink enough water there will be either no change or I will gain a lb or two.

    start measuring yourself, you may have gained muscle. I find that when I stall I eat an extra 200 to 500 calories and I lose weight. By doing so it's tricking the body.

    Thank you all for your advice. You know its kind of hard to eat when you are not hungry but I will force myself and see if it helps. Ill keep you posted on my next weigh in which should be on Wednesday..THANKS!!

    I know when on phentermine it's hard because I have zero zip zilch want for any food. I get hungry but have no craving which is great.

    I have no appetite at all on phen. I have been taking it for 7 weeks, and really have to remind myself to eat, with the busy holidays, I have gone 12 hours without eating, just because I have be so busy. My weight loss is VERY VERY slow the first month 8 pounds and so far this month maybe 3. My doctor told me to eat every 2-3 hours, if not the weight will not come off. I did the HCG diet for 2 months " because that is a 500 cal. diet and the weight is suposta come off fast" I lost about 20 pounds in 8 weeks which is what most people loose in a month. I am not sure if it is me or if it is all about how and when to eat. Still trying to figure it out. I am down 31-33 pounds since sep.1st which I feel is great, but thought I would be down much more by now after talking with people who have lost a lot more than this. even my doctor said it is really moving slow, I honestly make very good food choices, I allow a cookie here and there not 12 just 1 though, because that is how I plan to eat in the long run. I think there are just some of us who, have a hard time sheading weight.

    Your body requires more then 800 calories a day, just to function. If you don't get a decent amount of calories in, you can cause your body to shut down and hold onto your fat stores. Not only that, you will lose more muscle than fat by not eating properly.

    For ME, I have the best thing is to eat small frequent meals. In the beginning on phen, it was hard because you don't even think about food. But trust me, after a while, that goes away...I get hungry just fine now. LOL I eat 5x a day. It can be something as little as a yogurt or an apple. But put SOMETHING into your body. On average, I eat around 1200 calories a day and keep my fat around 30 grams a day.

    I've lost 78lbs in less than 5mo.
    Month 1 - 20lbs
    Month 2 - 20lbs
    Month 3 - 15lbs
    Month 4 - 15lbs
    Month 5 - (still in this month, currently at 8lbs and should finish around 11-12lbs...not bad for the holidays!)

    12/30/09 was my last day to take phen
    12/31/09 SW on my own 208.2
    1/18/10 CW 202.4
    1/24/10 Back on phen
    2/1/10 ONE-DERLAND BABY!!!!!!
