    Default Phen after pregnancy...

    hey ladies..
i am not sure if anyone remembers me but i use to live on this site and on the forums.. but after i lost the AMAZING 65LBS.. I GOT PREGNANT.... yeah it was a shocker... but i am about 8 months now.. and i have gained 30 of the 65 back... now i know that i will lose some right away but i am worried how quickly i will be able to get the rest of it back off and be able to pick up where i left off.. at 170... it was extremely hard seeing 200 on the scales yesterday! it was depressing... and even though i know i am gaining for a positive reason... it hard... because i worked really really hard to get that off!!!! so what i want to know is if there is anyone on here who went on phen after having a baby or went back to phen.. and did it help the same way... or because it was "baby Fat" did it take longer...???

i am exaggerating when i say i want to walk out of the hospital with a gurdle on and a phen in my system.. LOL!!!!!! but i serio0usly want to get myself back on track asap.. so any advice would be greatly appreciated!!!!

Honestly, I would try nursing first. Not only is it best for baby (and free!), but for a lot of women, it helps them lose weight. Not all are that fortunate though. But I'd certainly take it into serious consideration if you haven't already.

You are doing great at keeping your weight to 30lbs at this point. I wouldn't be surprised to see a 20lbs drop just by having the baby. Which only leaves 10lbs to have to work on to get back to your pre-baby weight.

I started phen at 5 months PP. I nursed for 4 months. I gained 50-60 lbs during my pregnancy. When I started phen I had already lost about 30 lbs. Since then I have lost on phen 25 lbs.I am on a phen break at the moment, hoping once I start taking it again, I will have a great loss like I did the first month of almost 15 lbs. I had a c-section so I really didn't excersise for 3 months after having my son. I was doing well for a while and with the holidays, kids, and crazy schedules I have not looked at the gazelle in weeks, but I am still losing. Good luck to you!

First and for most you need to understand that your body is at it's weakest after child birth. It takes a good 6 months to a year for the body to fully recover. That being said. I nursed my two babies and what I found was it not only helped to lose the weight but it also was good at contracting the stomach. While in the hospital, an ole timer told me the moment you get out of the hospital you get yourself a girdle. Not a heavy duty one but one that will support your stomach and you wear that as you lose weight. It helps the muscles in the stomach. Now weather this is medically true or not I can tell you that after gaining 100 lbs and giving birth to a 10.4 lb baby boy I was able to wear a bikini within 1 yr. I also had two C sections and two scars due to two very large babies and my stomach is fairly flat. My second baby was 9.11 3 weeks early 6 yrs apart. My first I delivered at 205 and my second one I was 225. I am 5' 5" The weight comes off so don't worry. Enjoy the baby they grow up way to fast.

Give yourself a break. I would wait at least 4 months before I went back on Phen maybe even longer. I bet you will lose between 25-30 lbs within the first 6 weeks. Normally you will lose baby x2 right off the bat.

Another thing. I would continue on the prenatal vitamins for 1 yr after having the baby. to rebuild your body.

Hi! I am brand-new here, but I do have a little experience with Phentermine after pregnancy. I agree that the weight will come off eventually, and you really need to give your body time to recover. But, of course, I did not follow that advice... :-)
I had my first baby in '06. I was on Phen until I found out I was preggo. I then proceeded to gain 70 lbs, thinking it would come right off, as I lost weight VERY quickly every time I started back on Phen. I did not take Phen until a few months after, but it still was almost a year until the weight came off-and it literally fell off in a month or two. But, it sure hung on until then!

I just had another baby, 11 weeks ago. This time, I started back on Phen right away, but I have only lost a couple of pounds! Like I said, the other times (three) I took a break and started back on Phen, I lost about 10 lbs the first month.

So, there does seem to be a difference between "regular" "baby weight", at least for me. I hope it comes off sooner for you! Keep us posted!

kaylee was one of those babies who nursed to the point that i couldn't put a bra on bc i was so chapped and sore so i only nursed her for a few weeks... right after my six week checkup i went on phen.. and it worked very well! i'm with jasp on the girdle/spanx thing though i think that was key in flattening my stomach. enjoy the baby and congratulations! keep us updated

I so wish I would have known about the girdle with my first son. I probably wouldnt have had such a horrible looking stomach if I did. I know it wouldnt keep my stomach that fantastic but still. After 3 c-sections it looks horrible

thanks ladies... i am defintely going to try and breastfeed and do the girdle thing...i really planned that anyways...... but i know that the first thing i am going to do is watch what i eat.. like i did when i was on phen.. because since i have been pregnant.. i have been a little more laxed with what i have been eating... and i am sure that didnt help with all of the weight gain! i will eventually get back on phen to get me back on track but my baby comes first so when the time comes to stop breastfeeding.. then i will see about phen..

You can do this and you can even come here for the support with breastfeeding and losing weight.

Question for those that had a C-section. Do you have more then just one scar? I have two scars one about and inch away from the first one. They told me my babies were to big to cut in the same spot. My girlfriend on the other hand only has one scar because the doctor cut out the first scar and cut in the same spot.

The women that told me about the girdle was in her 70's and was a volunteer at the hospital. She was the one that had to clean me up when I came out of surgery.....I guess she drew the short straw...LOL. She was from the South and said. "Honey when those staples come out you get yourself a girdle and you stay in it until you loose your weight. It will keep your belly flat" She also said she never understood why the young were not doing this anymore. She also told me nursing contracts your uterus and helps to flatten your stomach so it can cause some cramping in the first week or two. She came in to see me everyday while I was in the hospital which was 5 days and just told me all the different things they use to do. A lot of the same information my Grandmother told me.

Word of advice. Get yourself nipple cream and dry yourself off after nursing and apply it EVERYTIME. Wear cotton bra's so that you don't get chapped. Don't wear anything too tight across your bust. I was never told these things until my second time. I lost my milk with my first one because I wore a sports bra and I lost a lot of weight right away. I was only able to nurse for 4 months. My second time I loved it but was exposed to meningitis (I was watching my nephew who had it at 4 months Thank God he's was OK after 2 weeks in the hospital) My husband and my baby along with my younger son had to leave the house for 3 days and live with my sister while I stayed home and had to take Rifampin. After 3 days they were allow to come back home. I guess my milk changed taste because he would no longer nurse.

You will be on your way to getting healthy and enjoying that new baby.

I've had 3 and all were cut on the same scar. Also my first weighed in at 5lbs 14oz and my second was 8lbs 11oz and my 3rd was 7lbs 11oz. So I'm not expert on that. But my dr also didn't speculate on weight at all. He wouldn't even take a guess. We did but we thought he'd be in the 6lbs range or something not 8lbs! lol. Everyone in the OR was shocked. So when we had my 3rd my husband was only like 2oz off on his guess for weight. The dr guess my kids weight perfectly. He joked and said wouldn't it be cool if he weighed 7lbs 11oz on 7-11 the day he was born.. Sure enough.

    Ok I've babbled. :P

I had 2 C-Sections, both the same scar. My first was 8lbs, 1 oz, and my second was 8lbs 10oz. My doc did not mention anything about having to do another cut because of the baby's weight........

QUESTION ABOUT THE GIRDLE!!! Is it ever too late to start wearing one? It probably is for me (my baby is 12 weeks), but, if it would still be of help, I will sure do it!!! Does anyone know?

newlywed05- With your baby being that young I would not think its too late. I might not do what it does on some that use it right away, but I wouldn't see why it wouldn't make a difference at all. Shoot even I could wear one to help mine I just hate wearing one lol. I have those tummy control things that i wear occasionally. I should start wearing one more often.

No it's not too late. And your in the mist of losing weight so I think it would be a perfect time.

My first baby was 10.4 and 21" long. My second was 9.11 21" long. He was taken 3 weeks early due to how big he was getting. My first with a class two ultrasound two days before my due date said he was around 8 lbs and he was frank breech. They wanted me to try to deliver him vaginally. I told them no way do a C section. Good thing they did. They were not prepared for the size of him. I ran into some serious problems in the OR and they made my husband to leave the OR. That was a very scary time for me. The second they didn't want to take a chance so he was scheduled. They were huge babies for me. So I guess that's why I have two scars. It's in the bikini line one on top of the other.

Nursing is a great way to get your body back. Although you have to make sure your eating veggies and fruits and such so that you baby gets lots of great nutrients.

I have seen women with wonderful post baby bodies a lot sooner than I was ever able to achieve. Try not to stress out too much. You'll have all sorts of fun when the baby comes and you can work out with the baby too!

    Good luck!
