Default this pill makes me cry!

I don't know if I'd call it phen rage, because I would imagine that's similar to how I was on Meridia. Meridia made me very, very b!tchy and snappy--I was so easily frustrated and could not control my temper.

The Phen, on the other hand, is, like, making me in touch with emotions--I'm constantly getting emotional and crying, even happy tears! It could be anything, from a frustrating day at work to a sappy commercial on tv, and it will make me sob.

Does anyone else have this side effect??

I have the Mirena and have had it for over a year and never had any side effects. As for the crying on the phen I hadn't had that problem either.

I've heard that a lot of ppl have problems with phen affecting their mood. Some of them take a supplement to help with the mood swings (unfortunately I don't recall the name of that supplement.) Lately I have been irritable and in a pretty blah mood. I'm really not sure if its due to the medicine though. It might just be my normal crazy self! lol Or for that matter, if could be that I really have a reason to be upset. My boyfriend reassures me that I'm just being my normal crazy self and we really aren't having relationship problems (it's all in my head.) So for me it's a really confusing situation. Is meridia an appetite suppressant or is it similar to alli where it blocks the absorption of fat?

BonnieJo: I think you read the comment really fast.....she said "meridia", not "mirena". lol (not trying to be mean and call you out!! jus thought I'd let you know hehe.) I'm on mirena myself, my experience with it hasn't gone as smoothly as most other people's. But luckily it seems to be getting better, so I'm not going to get it taken out.

I did read that fast.lol I am such a tard sometimes! Well I am actually on my 3rd Mirena. I had cancerous cells so they removed it and then put another one in. They couldn't find the string or see that one so they took it out and put in another. I love mine though!

Hi Christine! Yes I have this problem too. Only my emotions some days feel like I am on a roller coaster - one minute super happy next super pissed and the next sobbing. I read on here others have had the mood swings and use a supplement called 5HTP. I just bought some on Sunday and started adding it to my vitamin routine. So far I do notice I have not sobbed and the snappiness is going away. Hopefully it stays away! I hope things get better for you because I sure know how it feels to have something so little trigger huge emotion. Best of luck

All I can say is stay away from the Hallmark store until you have your tissues with you!

In seriousness, I haven't noticed this as a side effect. Dry mouth (which miraculously got better recently), increased heart rate, getting cold at night, I think those are it for me. Personally, I always get that rush of happy hormones, endorphins, after a good cry; I'd welcome that side effect.

5HTP is a godsend! A friend of mine on phen recommended it to me for phen rage. But I didn't get phen rage, I got "I am a puddle and everything makes me cry" The 5htp is awesome. Much leveler

Poor guy. I was *****y before phen now I'm just horrible. Does anyone's dr know they are taking this? If so do they care? What are their thoughts on it?

Yes, I have side effects from the Phen. I do seem to be very snappy at times...short fuse lately...seems like everything gets on my nerves. I have not experienced crying though. I continue to ITCH every night and have chills.

I had experienced the Phen rage before, but now I take St.John's Wort which is a natural mood support supplement and works wonders. You can get it just about anywhere pretty cheap. It does make me feel very relaxed and like I don't have care in the world. My husband loves it!!

To be honest, b4 I even knew what Phen was I was moody and actually Im a more positive person... Im always super happy but thats because I look at the world from a different perspective... I fell INVINCIBLE! lol Now, when I first started I was being mean to 1 of my friends (at the time) but it was just bottled up emotions from past arguments with him and come to find out I was right the whole time so if anything Phen helped me to "open thine eyes" lmao so to speak... I think it just makes you over do your "natural" emotions at that particular time...
