    Default One week on Phentermine

Hi....I have been taking Phentermine for 7 days now. I weighed in this morning and have lost a little over 7 pounds!!!! I feel like I am on the right road to success and losing this fat body. I have had good results so far....have alot of energy to do things around the house...and I plan on walking a mile a day this week to start out. I have a 3 1/2 month old with me during the day, so its hard to exercise alot until my husband gets home from work. I have not had many side effects other than I have noticed that I am much colder lately....I have chill bumps alot....and I also have been itching some lately. I was itching so bad last night that I had to take a Benadryl. I have not been that hungry, just dry mouth. Any tips from anyone would be appreciated...and if anybody knows why I have the chills or I'm itching, please respond. Good Luck everybody...I will post some new pics soon.

That's great progress!....I'm right there with you as far as that goes...my first week I lost 7 pounds...talk about gratification It's funny you mentioned being cold...I thought it was just me, but I will have goosebumps a couple times a day...I'm cold natured anyway, so one thing may have nothing to do with the other...

Wishing you Lots of lost pounds

Thanks for the responses...I am gonna try to find out more info about the chills or the itching side effects....I can deal with it, if it means losing weight...just curious as to what causes it. I will let you know when I find out. Keep in touch.

Congrats on your loss, Kimberly! Keep up the good work.

I run warm. When the DH and I went out this evening, he had on an undershirt, a long-sleeved thin cotton sweater, and a leather jacket; I wore a short-sleeved t-shirt.

That said, I do find myself cold at night. I'm even closing the window in our bedroom -- ok, so it's 40 degrees out at night. I run warm and like the cold. I've never been cold like this. I had wondered if this might be a side-effect, but it wasn't until your post and the others' comments that I realized it must be. So thanks for starting this.

I get cold toes and fingers.... no problems with the itching though! Have you changed clothing detergents lately? or soap?

No- I haven't changed any soaps or detergents...I didn't find much info when I searched for an answer last night other than it could be thermogenesis...your body's way of burning fat. Never had the problem before....so, I guess that could be the answer...I can stock up on Benadryl though, if it means losing weight.

I am proud of your results. I have managed to lose only 8 lbs in two weeks. Now it’s a month since I have started taking phentermine. I have lost 17 lbs totally. I don’t think my results are too great. But I am happy I don’t suffer from side effects. Even my headaches have gone by now. As for your itching, maybe it’s one of those side effects you can get. Your skin probably reacts on the chemicals because of medication as you haven’t changed your soap or anything.

Many of you mention about being cold or chilly. Why don’t I feel it? Maybe it’s all the chocolate I eat? I just can’t control my diet and stick to the diet plan…

Fat boy... if chocolate is giving you a problem you could try eating the dark chocolates instead.... Like Lindt 70% cocoa... if you eat something like that it actually has some health benefits because it's mostly real cocoa.... unlike milk chocolate which is mostly sugar and other garbage.

Thanks for all the responses...I continue to itch at night....scratched for about an hour last night and finally gave in and took a Benadryl. I am gonna have to search for an answer on this side effect.

Kim, you are probably having an allergic reaction to Phen. In most cases whether it's food or medication that the number one way to identify an allergic reaction. (with nausea/vomitting or a rash in tight second) But if Benadryl is helping, I would say keep taking it unless your symptoms get worse. Good success!

I thought about the allergic reaction to Phen since I am a nurse, but I figured I would have whelps or something....just itching, almost like severe dry skin...but thanks for the comment!

That's interesting...I don't think I've ever seen anyone on here complain about getting chilled as a side effect. I am constantly wearing sweaters and turning up my themostat and I live in South FL!! I even wear fleece sometimes and I get the strangest looks! I never thought it could be related to taking phen, but I think you're onto something about the thermogenics. Oddly, when I sleep I have the opposite effect--I get too warm.

As far as itching, I never had this problem but last night I was shocked to see a splotchy rash over my stomach and upper thighs. But I am almost 100% positive that it is an allergic reaction to the new fabric softener I purchased b/c it was on sale and even the the scent was doubley strong--Gain. I have always used Downey or a Downey knock-off before so I'm almost sure that was the culprit. Anyway, I know there are threads/posts about people on here getting rashes as a side effect due to phen--you might want to pull those up.

Good luck and congrats on losing 7 lbs!
