For me it has been reading a book, school or just watching silly shows like Cake Boss or my favorites CSI, CSI Miami, Monk, Extreme Makeover Home Edition, Find My Family, HGTV or Foodnetwork.
My issue was not so much sweets but pasta—I was a daily regular at Maggianos for lunch and/or dinner. Then there was breads—with hot butter or oil and herbs, steak, crab, oysters, crawfish or shrimp—boil, fried or grilled, Cajun stuff with extra sauces—like Ponchatrain or Pasta Mardi Gras, Fajitas (specifically a Tijuana from Pappasitos with table side guacamole (which feeds 2-4 people), queso and extra garlic butter), Chinese food, buffets, Sushi, you get me. I "ain't" big for no reason.
What's sad is my family, friends and church members all call me about restaurants. LOL. Really, if they are entertaining or want to impress someone in a variety of price ranges—they call me. Hubby does it to for clients that are visiting. I ask what they like and tell them just what they need to get and it never fails--they get exactly what I tell them and are delighted!
Now, I still love food but I watch what I put in my mouth. I think I have had Pasta Mardi Gras maybe once but I have opted for salmon and asparagus or steak with veggies. I can take or leave sweets—that's not my vice. It's the carbs and over indulgence of high calorie foods.
I am liking getting smaller too. I like the fact that I can't fit a size 20 any longer. I am looking forward to getting in a size 12 too. I keep asking myself HOW BAD DO YOU WANT IT? It is easy to start and stop but enduring and finishing the course I have gotten on at this point, is the most important thing. This is the first time in a long time since I have started BP medicines that something besides total fasting or juice diet has worked. I actually have willpower now to say, NO THANK YOU and walk away from tempting foods!
