Justme76 – Sorry about the home situation. Hang in there. I have found that the board is a good place to sound-off and vent. How did the weigh-in going on this morning?

That's okay LeJune! You may not remember when, but we'll be seeing it soon, right twin? Just think in a few months we'll be doing happy dances too as we hit the 30 lb mark. I can't wait!

I have see this post on the board but for some reason kept glazing my eyes over it. Today I realized that I needed to open this thread and join since I am soooo close! Started 230 on 9/22 and now 208. I only have one month left of pills (ok well more since I skip days occasionally) and I have to do as much as i can as it is my third and DR will not give again. He is one that believes after 3 months then major problems can develop. So I am taking advantage and I will be loosing these last 8 lbs! I was 200 when I got married 6 years ago!!!

My first goal is under 199
Second is 180 so I can fit back into old size 16's

It is odd i have lost 22 but I don't feel like it. Sometimes I do and I have that high but then others I am just like eh whatever. I guess it is because I am not noticing a big difference yet but glimpses here and there.

Thanks for the great welcome!! As of this morning, I'm down 66.4lbs (need to change the ole ticker, but I'll wait til tomorrow). I won't finish my 4th month for another week and hope to hit 70lbs by then. We shall see.

As for my exercise...I walk 15mi a week. I use hand weights about 3x a week doing various exercises to tone my arms and hopefully prevent the floppy skin syndrome! LOL So far, so good. And I dance as frequently as I can. I LOVE LOVE music. So every chance I get, I turn it up and just get crazy...sometimes it's with the kids, and sometimes it's after everybody goes to bed and it's just me. But I try to do it everyday. And I incorporate exercise into it...like if a slow song is on...I do squats to it while singing. If it's a song you really like, you won't even realize how many you've done...but if you tried doing those same ones w/no music and just counted...you would quit after about 20. I probably do over 100 to a song and don't even know it. It's great!

Oh, and I bought myself an exercise bike for Christmas. So I'll be using that in the evenings and bad weather days as well.

I plateau about every 20lbs, and have to increase my food intake for a couple of days and that usually jump starts me again. All I know, is it works. I'm actually excited to go see my dr next month. I think the last time I saw him, I had lost about 35lbs...and when I go back I will have more then doubled that! I had expected the loss to slow down by now, but so far so good. The first 2 months, I averaged 20lbs each. The last 2 months are 15lbs each. I fully expected to be around 10lbs per month at this stage, so I'm thrilled my body is being so cooperative after being so mean to me for all those years. LOL

I eat around 1200 calories and 30 grams of fat per day. I cut out all fried foods. I cut out pop. I cut out most dairy, except for a daily yogurt or if my lunch (lean cuisine) has cheese, it's OK, otherwise that's about all the dairy I get. And I've reduced my portions. Our entire family no longer eats on regular dinner plates. We use the kids dishes. It helps to give the brain the illusion of a 'full plate' without all the food. I've also made a new family rule...everybody except the toddlers (I have 2 yr old twin foster babies) has to wait 20min before going for 2nds...give the brain and stomach a chance to have a talk. If they are still hungry after 20min, they can have 2nds...or a healthy snack. This isn't a new way for just mom, this is a new way for our family. I feel it's the only way for long term success. And well, it's just plain healthier!

Hi All! Hope everyone is doing great!! Just checking in for a quick update. I weigh in every Friday....another 3lbs bites the dust Yesterday was just a fabulous day, tried on a pair of jeans that have not fit in 4ever - they fit and were a little loose. So I am doing the happy dance right now, was a very tight 22, now a loose 20 - watch out size 18 here I come! Cant wait to have something start with a one, even if it just my pant size for now...my weight will soon follow

My exercise and eating were great last week, however the dry mouth side effect is not as severe so having trouble getting enough water I keep a bottle with me all day, just cant seem to get it all in - any suggestions??

    Have a super fantastic weekend!!!

    Default Update

Just wanted to do a quick update on me. I weighed this morning and had only lost 4 pounds. But that is pretty good considering its my TOM. I worked out harder this last week than I have in a long time and feel really good. So I am sure I am also building muscle and that could be another reason for the low number. I am not discouraged because 4 pounds in a week is GREAT! Its amazing how good I feel after eating good and exercising for a week. That alone is enough to keep me going. Also this thread and reading everyone's success is very motivating. Lets keep up the good work!

LOL, my kids have informed me that 'my' version of a squat is not a squat. I don't go down far enough. Well poo on them...it's more then I was doing before...it tightens the muscles...so hush kids!

As of this morning, I am 223.2...so down 66.8lbs. And we had our Thanksgiving dinner yesterday AND Aunt Flo came as well. So I'll take it! The true test will be tomorrow morning though as I've heard it's 2 days before you see the results of what you ate. I know I did good though, compared to what I could have done! LOL

Hi One-derland challenge takers, I know it's not the 1st or 15th, but I wanted to check in and see how everyone is. Plus there's no telling what will happen on Turkey day. LOL, just joking, all things in moderations.

Last week wasn't a great week, but 2 lbs is still a loss and that's the main thing. I will make this week better. I am 9lbs down total, and 1/2 way to my 1st mini goal 210, and only 24 lbs to my 2nd goal (and one-derland goal) of 195.

Tonight I'm taking my zumba class so hopefully this will help. I hope everyone is doing good, just stay focused.

    Hi All!!!

Marymom - 4lbs during tom is fantastic Congrats!!! I only lost 2lbs during mine...but was still happy to have 2lbs gone 4ever!!

Lejune - Thank you, Thank you!! How is the week going for you?

Kayskidz - Congrats on doing well during tom and thanksgiving. You must have will power of steel to hold back eating all that great food while on tom Turkey day will be a true test for me, cannot even imagine facing it during tom when I want to eat everything - especially sweets! I am dreading Thanksgiving in a way...but trying to be proactive and plan ahead. I am cooking...so I have been researching some healthier calorie friendlier versions of T-Day recipes. I also plan on using a small plate, have small portions and eating a big veggie filled salad before anything else to fill me up. Now to try and stay away from the wine, that is another story - lol!

Pinkkity - Congrats on the 5lb loss!! Keep up the good work!!

    Happy Thanksgiving to All!!!

I did my first weigh in...and i'm down 12 lb . The doctor and the assistant were very pleased with my progress and they both asked me what i'm doing as far as my routine. You ladies here have been a greeeeeeeeeeeeat help with my weight loss and I can't thank you enough. I thought that my loss was average...my doctor said that my loss was actually above his average that he sets of 8-10 lb/month

I told them about my routine and diet and they said to keep up the good work. I go back to meet with the nutritionist (12/4) and my next appointment is before Christmas (12/18)

my blood pressure was 120/80, he said my resting heart rate in the office was within normal range...but a little on the higher end, but i'm sure that will improve with more exercise and weight loss. I also tried a lipo-B shot this go-round, so we'll see how that goes with the phen.
    Goals...everybody's gotta have them

    Phase I- 199.0 lbs- completed on (3/14/2010)

    Phase II- 179.0 lbs
    Phase III-164.0 lbs
Phase IV (the home stretch)-150 lbs

TOM only makes me crave salty. I had a few baked chips, and that cures that! My new motto is 'skinny tastes better then ______ (insert what ever your weakness is)'. I would say that as I drove past the donut shop every morning. LOL Believe it or not...it works!

Hi Ladies.. I would like to participate.. !! On November 15th I was at 216... should I start with that or my current weight. I have lost 20 lbs since Oct 28th. I am thinking I have not been under 200 since 1999 also.. wow. I do not like looking at family photos.. yuck!!

Small goal is 199 ... but by Jan 8th I would have like to have lost another 20... so by Feb.. another 10 for a total of 50lb gone.. I am not good at figuring out these goals...
For me it is not the lbs it is the size... I want to be in a least a 9/10!! Perferable an 7/8..but trying to be realistic I guess. Currently 16 losely.

I Pledge not to eat anything over Thanksgiving that will hinder my weight loss!!!!!!!!

KaysKidz—LOL. I may have to try the squats but if you see an email stating: HELP, I'VE FALLEN AND I CAN'T GET UP. That would be me. LOL.

Ladys27-I love Zumba. I have not been since my accident but it was a great workout. A lot of fun and I was the only Full-Figured Bombshell in there. LOL.

    Shoefiend – How are you???

Sossassafras – Congratulations!!! Having a good report from the doctor is always a plus.

    Pinkkity97 – WTG

Dee—Hey Lady!!! You will probably reach your goal before the end of the year!

I am back on my water regime! So, something should be off of me this weekend. I will probably workout and hit the bayou at some point—I am staying way away from the malls and shopping centers.

How is everyone else?….Sorry I didn't call everyone by name.

This site has been such a help in keeping me accountable. Happy Thanksgiving everyone.

Hello everyone! I am so behind, but glad to be able to check in to see how everyone is doing. I won't do my normal person by person reply but want to send a big congrats to everyone. It's so wonderful to see everyone sticking with things and hopefully Thanksgiving wasn't terribly hard for anyone. I've been doing okay, and worked out to offset my favorite foods for Thanksgiving, so I'm happy about that.

Tomorrow is our first "official" update, so I look forward to hearing from everyone and how they've done the first 2 weeks of our challenge. Keep up the great work and if you've slacked some, commit to put the extra effort in to get on track.

    Let's do this!

I hope everyone’s Thanksgiving was great!!! I rested like nobody’s business after I cooked of course. Hubby lost his mind momentarily--I made him a chocolate chocolate cake (devils food with chocolate pudding and chocolate chip morsels) and homemade cream cheese icing. He had the nerve to complain about the icing initially and then after the fifth piece he said he liked the icing. DRAMA.

I started TOM today. YUCK. Good thing is I neither gained or lost so I guess that is pretty good. I did get a chance to sleep. I did not take Phen Friday and Saturday. I did take it yesterday but only slept 2 hours last night. At 3 a.m. I was wide awake. Go figure.

    Default Our 1st Check In

Time to check in for our 1st official update since we started the challenge.

I'm at 227 lbs, so I've lost 5.2 lbs during the 2 weeks of our challenge. I've been doing great with water, pretty good with exercise, but my eating is still not what it needs to be as I'm not eating as much as I probably should.

    Hi everyone,
Just checking in and catching up on the posts. I weigh in tomorrow (Wed) I will update you with the results. Not to sure what damage was done eating pumpkin pie but it was yummy. I was down last Tuesday night by 1.4 lbs. I hope to stay the same at least. My granddaughter shared her cough with me so I have been slow on the exercise the last 4 days. I hope to be back as good as new very soon! Good luck everyone!

Hey everyone, Happy Holidays. I hope everyone survided Turkey day without too much damage. LOL.

If your feeling sick...I hope you feel better.
If your feeling tired...exercise it might give you more energy.

Good luck everyone we'll in One-derland soon, just stay focused and keep pushing.

So here's my update...I lost 2 lbs the first week of the challenge and nothing since.
But that's ok, I am working out, and drinking lots of water, but wasn't really eating much.
So I'm paying closer attention to my meals and forcing myself to eat, and looking forward to a better update in two weeks.

Keep your fingers crossed. How has everyone else been?

Hi All!!! Hope everyone had a great holiday Just a quick update for the weigh in.... The first week of the challenge I lost 3lbs, the 2nd week 4lbs(tentativley) = total 7lbs??? I normally weigh in at my doc's office every Friday, I couldnt last Friday due to the doc being closed for the holiday. I used my home digital scale for the weigh in, however I am not sure if it is as accurate as the doc since I have been only weighing in with him.... So if anything changes for the worse or better I will update on Friday. Everyone have a great day

Ya! my third weigh in was great! - I lost 3 pounds. I guess I am thrilled the scale's battery ran out at home. I'm glad I am not overly obsessing about my weight like I used to!!! Woohoo.. Well that is all I wanted to say. Can't stay too long because I got a nosey co-worker here who likes to tell on me for everything I do! Meany! Later!
I am no longer fighting the world to prove I am comfortable being A BIG girl.. Because I was only fighting myself... I'm not comfortable, and I am happy I am doing something about it. Starting this over and fresh with a new begining!

Hey guys....thanks for the congrats and the support, because it is really appreciated. My Thanksgiving was restful and quiet....I really didn't stray too far off the beaten path.

When I went to a friend's house for Thanksgiving dinner...I asked her for a smaller plate and I used a smaller fork. I only took 1 serving spoon size of what I wanted to eat (dressing (or stuffing for some folks), macaroni, greens, sweet potatoes and i had a slice of turkey and 1/2 slice of ham)...and had no dessert, plus I drank my water.

Good thing is...that i'm not a big fan of holiday foods and since I bake, I'm not a big dessert fan. When I have a sweet tooth...I'll usually eat cotton candy (110 cal per serving) or a small Wendy's frostie.

I weighed myself on my bathroom scale...and i'm doing a test to see if this weight has really stuck or is it just a fluke...so i'm taking my weight over 3-4 days to see if its accurate.

The scale had me at 218.5 on Monday, 219 lb yesterday and 219 lb this morning....i'll see what it says tomorrow morning.

    So we're talking a 2-2.5 lb in a week.
    Goals...everybody's gotta have them

    Phase I- 199.0 lbs- completed on (3/14/2010)

    Phase II- 179.0 lbs
    Phase III-164.0 lbs
Phase IV (the home stretch)-150 lbs

    How is everyone???

Jeanin – I hope you are feeling better.

Ladys27 – The weight will be off before you know it. You are probably loosing inches I think we all have that probably with not eating much or not drinking enough water like we did in the first week. I know I have to get back too it.

Shoefiend – congrats on weight loss!!! Looking forward to your report on Friday—I know that dr scale better say the same or more weight loss or we will take it to the river. LOL. I have been watching too many Italian shows lately.

Chiquita—YGG!!! 3 pounds is wonderful! Sorry about the co-worker, I think we all have been there. At my old job—they had a secret society of secretaries on each floor that “told” on everyone. I hated it. First of all, I am going to do my job, if I stop and say hello to someone and share information—there is no need for anyone to be reporting in on me—we all are grown. Of course, there is always someone that abuses the system but give me a break. Whew, I guess I wasn’t past that and a few more crazy things at that place—even though I have been away from there for 3 years now. LOL.

Sosassafrass – Wow, you did really good at Thanksgiving.

I do not have much to report—no change in weight I have another 3 ½ days of TOM. So we will see on Monday how I do. I go to my doctor on Tuesday. I have noticed my things are fitting differently. Especially all the size 18 pants I was given. A few of them fit me perfectly and a few snug in the fullest part of my thigh—go figure. Does anyone watch Cake Boss? It cracks me up.

There are a few more remnants of Thanksgiving dinner at my house but not much—hubby has been killing everything. The cake was gone yesterday; I didn’t even look in the refrigerator. I will check it tonight.

Hi Everyone, sounds like we all survived the the Thanksgiving Meal...

I did fine when it came to the food, my problem my girlsfriends wanted to go out... well I have not been out ... with this new body... so I decided to go... HAD Blast... OH... my... I drink the 55 cal beers so I feel like I am really trying and I did not eat but a couple bits of turkey meat before leaving... Okay... I gained a couple pounds... but now I am down past where I was.. so no complaints here.

Exercise.. love it.. I did a walk/jog yesterday for 2.55 miles... but I had a new accomplishment to it... I actually RAN... with pace... never have I been able to do that... it was the most wonderful feeling.. then came home stretched and did leg and butt exercises... it was great. This morning when I got up I was down 2 lbs!!!

As you can see I added my original start picture... it embarrass me to share it.. I was never a large child or teenager,,, but after every child I grew larger, then with my on silent depression (no know new but me) I would eat and drink... alot. When I saw this pic with my oldest daughter... it stund me... I did not know that was how I looked... I had deceived myself.

I love who I am becoming.. the old me... lots of changes going on in my life...
Now by January... I want to get as small as possible!!! Going home for a month to see family friends and my high school sweetheart.. we have reconnected and want to catch up...

So... I am on one Hell of a Mission.... !!!

    LETS DO IT!!!

Dee--OMG!!! I am so glad you had a great time with friends over the holidays. Congrats on the working out and reaching new levels and strides!!! You deserve happiness.

I think we all go some level of depression for different reasons. Mine was rejection and physical abuse from a boyfriend and then when my other beau died--I just immersed myself in dinners for one, drinks and whatever else I wanted—trying to figure out who I was or wanted to be. I would clean my plate—even when the restaurant provided super large portions. I felt it was my duty to not take a doggie bag. I think we all have "those" pictures—where we say dang—I was that big…

I am so happy for you!!! Keep up the good work!

LeJune, Thank you girl.. it was nice to get those looks and attention again..

When I think about the stress eating... for me it was like.. by pushing the food down my throat I could feel the pain and tears go down with it... literally.

Tony Robins said that you do the things you do because you are getting something out of it.. He is right... Once I made up my mind about some personal issues at home, I felt mentally free... (this last round).. and with those decisions came the decision to really get healthy and strong... Now I am finding pleasure in exercising, looking in the mirrow and seeing me shrink, stepping on the scales every morning and seeing what progress if any I have made by that morning and measuring my B O D Y... :0. I just went below 50" on my hips!!!

I would like to encourage anyone that is a stress eater... to recogonize what is happening even if you have already taken that bit... and dig deep... get up off that couch and go do crunches, take a walk... do something and let the endorphines keep in and help you to clear your mind... Maybe you need to make some decisions in your life that you have been sweeping under the rug because you feel you have no other choice... Maybe it is time to look outside the box at your choices...

Sorry... did not mean to get on my soap box... I guess I am feeling passion about it today!

I haven't been on here to post anything since my first post....however, I do come and look to see how everyone else is doing. I wanna say good job to everyone on their weight loss so far!! I know yesterday was the official weigh in day for this post, but I forgot to weigh in. Today, though, my weight was at 217.8. I started this challenge at 225.8, so that's an 8 pound loss. I have been doing okay with my water intake, not so good with my exercise (though my job has been extra physical lately), and I've been doing great with my eating habits...especially through Thanksgiving!!! Anyway, that's my update for now. Keep up the good work everyone!!!

    Jess--WTG!!! 8 pounds is great!

Dee -- You are so right. I like soap boxes! If you are not passionate about something anything will do.

For me it has been reading a book, school or just watching silly shows like Cake Boss or my favorites CSI, CSI Miami, Monk, Extreme Makeover Home Edition, Find My Family, HGTV or Foodnetwork.

My issue was not so much sweets but pasta—I was a daily regular at Maggianos for lunch and/or dinner. Then there was breads—with hot butter or oil and herbs, steak, crab, oysters, crawfish or shrimp—boil, fried or grilled, Cajun stuff with extra sauces—like Ponchatrain or Pasta Mardi Gras, Fajitas (specifically a Tijuana from Pappasitos with table side guacamole (which feeds 2-4 people), queso and extra garlic butter), Chinese food, buffets, Sushi, you get me. I "ain't" big for no reason.

What's sad is my family, friends and church members all call me about restaurants. LOL. Really, if they are entertaining or want to impress someone in a variety of price ranges—they call me. Hubby does it to for clients that are visiting. I ask what they like and tell them just what they need to get and it never fails--they get exactly what I tell them and are delighted!

Now, I still love food but I watch what I put in my mouth. I think I have had Pasta Mardi Gras maybe once but I have opted for salmon and asparagus or steak with veggies. I can take or leave sweets—that's not my vice. It's the carbs and over indulgence of high calorie foods.

I am liking getting smaller too. I like the fact that I can't fit a size 20 any longer. I am looking forward to getting in a size 12 too. I keep asking myself HOW BAD DO YOU WANT IT? It is easy to start and stop but enduring and finishing the course I have gotten on at this point, is the most important thing. This is the first time in a long time since I have started BP medicines that something besides total fasting or juice diet has worked. I actually have willpower now to say, NO THANK YOU and walk away from tempting foods!
