Default Breaking up with Phen- any advice?

i've decided to take a break from phen, perhaps a week or 2. I've just completed my first 30 day ** and lost about 12 pounds on it. Prior to, I lost 30 pounds phen free. My short term goal is 160- started out at 204 now I'm 172. Just want to know if anyone else has taken a break from it and how it worked for you. I do workout on a consistent basis- 45 min cardio and alternation weight training upper and lower body, i count calories and mindful of the nutritional value of everything i eat. Im not the most super clean eater-80-90% of the times i'm on track, the other 10-20% is due to my craving for Doritos..lol don't ask. just a few words of advice or your experience would be greatly appreciated. thanks.

Dene, did you talk to your doctor about taking a break? I have recently started my phen-treatment so I can’t share my experience with you. I just think that this medication should be taken for a whole course prescribed to you by your doctor without any breaks. As far as I know you are not allowed to take phentermine for a long period of time otherwise it can cause addiction and low down the results. Still I find your results motivating! I hope you won’t have to come back for phentermine treatment and will be able to maintain the results you have achieved so far! It’s great that you keep on exercising and counting your calories.

Dene,

You might want to take half dose for a week to wean yourself, then take your 2 wk break. Twelve pds in one month is great and you are very close to goal. Best of luck.

The first time I took Phen, the doctor had me do it for 6 months straight. The first month had the highest weight loss and then less each month. After about 3 months, I really quit losing more than 3 to 4 pounds a month.

I changed doctors to start Phen this time. I have only been on it for a little over a week. This doctor does one month on and one month off. I think the body builds up resistance to Phen and it doesn't work well with long-term use. I also suspect that this is the doctor's way to help you get used to eating healthy even without the Phen. That way you are less likely to go back to your original way of eating and gain everything back.

If you want to try giving your body a break, go for it! Just make sure you keep up the way of eating as best you can, exercise, and drink plenty of water even though you don't have the pill driving the thirst. Good luck. Let us know how it goes.
