I have the 37.5 mg phentermine tablets (white with blue specs) and was wondering when the best time is to take them.
for those that take this form, do you take it before or after breakfast and how long before or after?

I am taking mine when the alarm goes off (at about 6am) as I worry about not being able to sleep well at night. This is well before breakfast and thus far (7 days) I have not encountered any problems. I don't sleep very well (since starting Phentermine) but I do eventually and do not seem to be suffering because of this. I wish you every success in your journey.
You should take phen 2 hours before or after eating. Some take it earlier and some take it later, if you take it earlier but expierience hunger towards the end of the day then take it a bit later. If the side affects are too much then take half in the morning and half after lunch. Phen needs to be absorbed into an empty stomach in order for it to work correctly.

Aly is correct. Phen is most effective when taken on an empty stomach. The best thing to do is take your pill as soon as you wake up (before breakfast, before the coffee). This has to do with the way phen is absorbed in the GI tract.
This doesn't mean that if you take phen with food it won't work. It's just the best way to take it.
Agreed, Phen works best on an empty stomach. I take 30 mg yellow Ionamin extended release capsules and so far, they've worked very well, I take it 6:00 am before breakfast at 8:30 am. So far so good.
As for me, I take my phen pill half an hour before my breakfast. I have been taking this drug for only two weeks. But I feel comfortable with my schedule. So far I have only suffered from headaches. I haven’t had any other possible side effects so I suggest you to take your pills in the mornings.

IF IT DOESNT EFFECT YOUR SLEEP, i wouldnt take it extremely early because the later you take it, the longer it will last through your day. However you do need to take it on a completely empty stomach b4 you eat anything that day, and dont eat until at least an hour after you take it. I take mine whenever i wake up....which isnt until 10am sometimes because it wont effect my sleep once bedtime comes around. For 2 days i was starving and didnt understand why (when it was working amazing previously.) = finally figured out that it was because i was eating breakfast within 5 minutes of taking my phen. I have been on and off phen since Nov. 2008.. I am getting back on the wagon and trying to remember what worked in the past.
I do notice a difference when I take it on an empty stomach.
I am going to try waiting an hour before eating....wish me luck!!
I am on the same pill. I started out taking it first thing in the morning but it made me sick to my stomach and jittery. So I started taking it about 30minutes to a hour after my first meal. And this seems to be working for me, I don't find myself hungry at all.

Thanks to all of you sharing your experience.I myself is taking phen from last two weeks. I am taking it early in the morning, with empty stomach, when I wake up. It is working fine without any side effect.
As soon as I drag my butt in to the kitchen ... with a big glass of water.
I usually take mine about 4am and eat about a cup of Special K around 5. Is that too soon to be eating?
I take mine at 4:30 in the morning when getting ready for work
i usually take mine after i brush my teeth in the morning...so anywhere from 4:50am-6:30am, but that usually sets the gauge for what time I eat breakfast...so I usually eat breakfast when I get to work between 6:00am-8:00am.
Getting dressed and driving to work usually provides me that hour buffer before I eat.

wow, i feel like the odd man out.i've always taken mine mid morning. i feel it helps me get through the evening when i take it later in the morning. once i get to work i'm not really thinking about food anyway so i always time it so that i take it before the mid-day cravings start. i never had a problem with staying up at night on phen so this method works for me. if i take it too early i get the 8pm munchies.
