    Default Insurance coverage

Here, in Kansas, BCBS does not cover any obesity related doctor appointments or prescriptions. The cost of phen isn't really an issue, but the continuing doctors appointments could become one. I'm wondering if your insurance plans cover this, and who is your insurer?

I'm on Conventry and so far they've covered my appts, but not my prescription. I'm guessing it's whatever the dr is putting on the paperwork or else they just cover it.

I have blue cross SISC and United Healthcare- niether of which cover obesity related office visits- However, my Dr. bills them as blood pressure related or cholestorol related in order to get the insurance company to pay. Ask your Dr. about it- there are ways to go around it!

Mine does not cover it, so I pay out of pocket. I do however write it off my taxes and get 100% back.
