    Red face September/October Phen Starters

    Hi everyone,
    I saw there was an august phen starters but I couldn't really find a september one, so if you have just started phen come share your story here!

    Recently I got engaged and moved in w/ my fiance, my weight ballooned up, i had just started an office job, sitting down all day, and going out for lunch everyday. Then in August my cousin started doing phen and she had such great results, she has lost 20lbs in 6 weeks, and she really motivated me to get started.
    I finally got started yesterday, went to a weight loss clinic and I am ready to make a long time commitment and change my every day eating habits, packing my own lunch for work and drinking plenty of water.

    Starting Weight: 173

    Default Ready to be healthy...and skinny too!

    Hey there! I've battled my weight my whole life. I have a 4 year old and a almost 8 month old and I'm done having kids. I'm ready to lose my weight for good! I'm hoping the phen will be just what I need to get myself on track. I've been on for almost 2 weeks and am already so happy!

    There is no september group. It is done in groups of 2 months. There is a thread for AUGUST/SEPTEMBER starters. good luck.

    Hi teach416, welcome
    So far the phen is working well also, the first two days were a bit difficult for me but I think i'm getting better now.
    it was very hard to see my husband eating cake and not have any, even though I wasn't hungry, but I didn't give in, so yay!
    are you doing any specific diet?
    we've already taken the first step, which was the biggest one: make the decision to lose it!

    yes, I saw the august/september thread, but its already like 20 pages long, it was going to take very long to catch up w/ everyone...

    so I though it would be nice to start a new one....am I allowed to do that??

    I started Phen September 3rd. I have lost 10 lbs so far... I have resisted the urge to get on the scale this week until WI day Friday. I have been overweight since I was 12. I hit puberty and it was all over! I have a 4.5 year old daughter, I gained 18 lbs with her, lost it all, but gained 45 lbs in 4 months due to Mirena. I lost all that weight and got pregnant with my son who is 5 months old. I gained close to 50 lbs with him. I am 5'3 and the weight was starting to take a toll on my joints. I am very determined to lose at least 50 lbs if not more before Christmas,I know it's mighty ambitious but it keeps me focused to keep going,keep excersising when my body just hurts, to not eat that 2nd piece of pizza... I am up to 3 miles on the gazelle in 30 minutes a day. So that is my story. Good luck everyone!!

    Dasipari - Yes, you can start a new thread if you want! lol. I'm glad you did. I didn't join the Aug/Sept. one because it was too long. I started on my diet on Monday (9-21). I have been trying to control my eating the last two days and trying not to start on the phen until Oct. 1. We'll see how long I can last before Oct. 1 because I feel like taking it right now! I'm itching to start the phen by looking at your weightloss already as well as the weightloss of Teach416 and Andrea! I am trying to save the phen when I really need it because the first week is usually the easiest to lose some weight. You know what I mean?

    Hi! I used to follow weight watchers, but then went to a nutritionist and she put me on a plan counting calories, fat grams, and fiber. I use the myfitness.com website to journal my daily food intake and exercise. Good luck to you! I already feel better about myself. Can't wait to look back in a few months at all the success we are going to have!

    I am a 33 year old mother of two boys, 2 and 8. I have battled with my weight since I was about 20. I was about 150 when I got pregnant with my first son and after 5 years, was almost back down to that when I found out I was pregnant with my 2 year old. My weight tends to fluctuate since that from about 170-195. I was apalled when I got on the scale at the doctor and saw the number, 206! (the doctor said starting my period that day accounted for a few pounds of that) I am 5'6", and want to weigh about 150, although I would be ecstatic with 140! I started on phen (Adipex) on 9/10. I am scared to weigh myself for fear of discouragement. I go back to the doctor on 10/1 and will weigh there. I am hoping to have lost about 10 pounds. I would ideally like to have lost about 30 pounds by Christmas, then another 20 by Easter. I would love to feel comfortable in a bathing suit by next summer. I haven't started the exercise part of my diet yet, but plan to. This first couple weeks on phen has my body/energy levels all over the place. I am super excited about this site, because it always helps to have people on your side and going through exactly what you are! Good luck to everyone!

    Hello everyone, welcome all!

    So, how is everyone doing so far?? What are the side effects you started to feel already?

    I have been feeling very energinzed lately, if I sit down I am always thinking of what else I need to do around the house, and even at work I feel alot more productive! That's one side effect...the other one that has somewhat been worrying me is that I feel my heart beat, yes that sounds weird, does anyone know what I mean?? I'm just scarred that phen might give me heart problems. Does anyone know if that's possible?

    I haven't really experienced the dry mouth effect yet because my doctor told me to drink 100+ oz of water per day, and that is keeping me very hydrated! So if anyone is having trouble w/ feeling their mouth dry, try drinking more water, it really helps.

    Let me know how you guys are doing, we're here to support each other!

    Default week 3 going great

    Hi everyone. I'm half way through week three and doing well. I totally have the dry mouth. No matter how much water I drink, it's there. Other than how fast it makes me talk, I love the energy during the day, but still kinda crash at night. My body is tired at night. I'm on my feet all day as a teacher and I think that once I get some weight off I won't feel so wiped out at night. I'm keeping my calories between 1200 and 1300, and that is working. I definitely need to step up my veggie intake. Just one of my downfalls. Hope everyone has a good week!

    Hello guys my name is Jill and I just started Phen on the 14th of Sept. So far I am down 5 lbs but it was all the first week. No loss the second week and I have been doing good with food and exercise. Not sure what is going on there other than I have been totally constipated for the second week. I am going to get something for that today and hopefully I will feel better and will help me start loosing again. I was on 15mg tablets two times a day but yesterday the dr gave me a script for the 37.5 mg tablets which are way cheeper and seem to work better so I am hoping for major loss this week!!! I have three kids 15yr old son and twins that are 9yrs old. I was so skinny growing up then a little heavier after my son and even more heavier with the girls then 5yrs ago I quite smoking and gained another 20lbs sincce then so it is time to get on the wagon and loose this weight. My goal is 40 lbs.

    I look forward to getting to know you guys.

    hey, I was starting to feel a little constipated too. I started uping my fiber intake and that really, really helped me. Maybe try that!

    I actually have been doing WW with the phen which tends to be a bunch of fiber so i am surprised. I took some exlax and hope to be feeling better by tomorrow. What are you guys doing? just watching calories? I am thinking maybe I need to switch to that since I didn't loose anything the second week. I will give WW one more week. I haven't been even eating my total points at all anyway I was just thinking this would be something I could do as a lifestyle change and keep up with it but maybe I need to just save WW for the maintancce program once I reach my goal.

    Jill, I used to follow WW too. I went to a nutrition and she reccommended keeping track of calories (no less than 1200) fat (no more than 35 grams a day) and fiber (more than 25 grams a day) instead of points. I did that in conjunction with points and discovered that I did way better that way than with points. With points, I was actually getting way too much fat intake, and way less fiber. Anyway, just food for thought!

    Hello Everyone. I just joined today officially. I am still waiting for my pills so that I can start. They should hopefully be available on Monday. It looks to me that there is a very high success rate using phen, and I can't wait to be a success story myself I am in the same boat as many of you. I already posted my entire story today so I won't go into details again, but I'm looking forward to supporting one another and to losing 30 lbs by Christmas!

    I started on Phen, B12 w/AMP, and Lipo B on Sept 29th. I weighed myself yesterday and thought I had lost 5lbs but then I weighed in at the Dr.'s office and they read only 3lbs! So my numbers are slightly off. Either way my scale told me this AM that I have lost another lb! And, even if you go with the lower number, I have lost 4lbs in 5 days! Yay!

    I didn't think I would lose anything yesterday as I went to a work social and ate yummy Greek food and took part in the open bar (Gotta love those lemonade drinks with vodka!!).

    I know I need to stop weighing myself every day but it's hard when it keeps showing great numbers!

    Hi!!! I started Oct 2nd, for my 2nd time. I had pretty good results my first time but ended up slacking off once we bought our house and I ended up gaining it all back. I am motivated this time and hope if I can stick to my plan of exercise and eating better I can drop my weight and then i want to become a personal trainer to help motivate others! Please any advice to help motivate me and keep me on track, I would appreciate it!!!

    I thought I had gotten lucky as I have not had any sleep problems. Sadly, it is now 4:38 AM and I am still awake. I have to leave at 5:30 to exercise!! I wonder how much this is going to affect my weigh in?

    Hi everyone!
    I started phen and my diet last monday (9-28). I am doing okay with it. I am having some headaches and dry mouth, but not really feeling the energy I though I would. The dr wanted me to start Metformin with it, but I havent yet because I am waiting to hear more about the side effects because I am not a diabetic. Any info you have on this would be great. I am also doing water aerobics and I am liking that.

    I read your story and it is just like mine! I am a 31 year old mother of two...a 7 year old girl and a 2 year old boy. I also lost the weight I put on with my first but after my second, my weight has fluctuated between 170-195. I was exactly 195 when I started phen just 6 days ago on Oct. 1st. I have lost 3 lbs so far and am now at 192. I was hoping for a much quicker weight loss my first week, but I guess any loss is good My first goal is to lose 18lbs by Halloween (15 more to go) and 30 lbs by Christmas. Maybe we can help keep each other motivated

    TruBlue, I had those symptoms when I started last week. within a few days they all went away and now I feel totally fine with phen.

    The insomnia DID stop my weight loss. Sadly I did not lose anything for two days but this morning I weighed and it showed another lb loss, so maybe things are back on track. I hope so, I am so tired of being this size!

    I worked out on Monday with my coworker for about an hour. We plan on meeting three days a week for the remainder of the school year.

    Last night I was absolutely starving but didn't give into temptation, just drank my water and went to bed.

    Hi everyone! I lost 8.6 this month. I know that is an average of over 2 pounds a week, I just expected more in the first month. I plan on stepping up my exercise this next month! How is everyone else?

    I began Phen on September 30. I took Phen about 2 years ago and lost 50 lbs. I slacked off going to the doctor and over the past 2 years put almost all my weight back on. I am the mother of 2 boys ages 10, and 7. They keep me very busy and on the run all the time. I am hoping that I can keep strong and not give into the drive-thru temptation. We have sports almost every night and travel all weekend. When I started on the 30th, I weighed 265 by my scale and 267 at the Dr. As of this morning, my scale was 258.0. I am sure most of that was water weight but it is still weight that is not on my body. I need to lose the weight for my boys and for my family. As active as we are it would be so much easier if I wasn't always concerned about my weight and how I look. I am hoping that i can keep the motivation up and get all my weight off this time, once and for all! I haven't really started exercising with the Phen plan to start soon. I haven't really decided what I am going to do but probably start with just walking as much as I can. Any suggestions??

    First time using Phen. Lots of weight to loose and get myself back. I am a wife and secretary not only at work but at church too and I go to school. My life is constantly busy.

    I have no kids but a husband....that counts doesn't it.

    I have been overweight since 1994. I remember starving myself during the summer in between junior high and high school. That's what it was called then AND I dropped down to a size 3/5. I was able to shop at the 5-7-9 store. So all during high school I was in the band and relatively maintained between a size 5-7. Once I graduated in 87 it went downhill from there. By 1994, I was 190 lbs.

    I used depression and low self esteem to eat. In that time I had a boyfriend to hit me--I left him of course and in 1999 the guy I was dating had a heart attack and died. He wasn't old just 34. So I used food as my comfort. Never really thinking about what I was doing to my body.

    I am so tired of being in 18/20 and 22's. I am ready to be a size 10 at least.

    Hi! I started on the 7th, so pretty much at the same time. My weight problems started after my second child was born 7 years ago. I gained almost 60 pounds after her birth, and no one understood why. After years of trawling around doctors I was finally diagnosed with extreme thyroid problems and ended up having it removed last year. Problem is, my metabolism is now a nightmare, and no amount of "normal" dieting has worked. Gaining weight at WW while strictly following the program is pretty embarrassing. My doc sent me a phentermine prescription last week, so I thought about it over the weekend and decided I had nothing to lose. So far, in three days I've lost 3 pounds, the most ever in the last 7 years. It's too early for me to get my hopes up, I'm just too skeptical - but determined to give it my best shot!

    I lost 10 FREAKING POUNDS this WEEK! I am so excited!! I do have to admit that at one point I thought I was going to lose my mind. I was SO hungry! However, as I am expecting TOM at any moment, I knew the reason why and was able to stay the course.

    I am trying not to let hubby know that I am losing so that I can surprise him when he gets home but it's hard! So, instead of bragging to him, I brag to you all!

    Default 5 week check in

    Hi all,

    After 5 weeks I am down 11 pounds! I feel pretty good about my loss now. I was a little sad last week that it wasn't more. However, with how busy my schedule has been, and how little I've been able to exercise (due to knee pain) I think it's pretty good!

    Keep focused everyone. We can do it!

    and I love reading all your success stories! My first day was the 13th. I was nothing other than delighted to see a 5 lb loss when I got on the scale this morning. I'm sure that's water weight, but its still soooo nice seeing the scale move downward

    After my second two sons being born 51 weeks apart, I've done nothing but steadily put on weight. I'm so hoping this works for me!

    I just started last wednesday & lost 3lbs. I tried phen a couple of times, but got scared because of my own anxities of taking weight loss meds. But today I have no choice because I don't want to see 200 again in my life if I can do something about it.

    Hello everyone! I'm so excited to have found this website...just reading over everyone's story's really helps stay motivated and helps me know there is support out there when needed. Y'all are all doing an amazing job, Keep It UP! I just started phentermine on 10/7/09 and I think I've done awesome...mostly compairing to my other try's at diets but this is the best thing I've ever come across. I've already lost 11lbs...yay yay yay! My energy level is through the roof and I just over all feel awesome!

    Hello to everyone!

    I have to say, I've only been on this site two days, and I can already see how supportive everyone is of each other. I'm happy to have found you all!

    I started my Phen today (10/15/2009). I'm so excited to start on this new path. My current weight is 189. I was on Phen last year, but only stayed on it for a month. I went down from 199 to 189, where I am currently. The reason I stopped was because I have to go the doctor to get a new prescription every month, and my boss was giving me a hard time about taking time off. But I'm sick and tired of being sick and tired, so I'm not going to let that get in the way anymore.

    I've never been one to struggle with my weight. All my life, up until four years ago, I've been a small person. I have four children and the last pregnancy I had twins! And even after the twins were born, I was back down to my usual weight of 124 lbs. The weight I am now was the weight I was when I was pregnant with the twins....at the end of my pregnancy!

    I have a small frame, and my body is struggling to deal with all of this weight. I thank God my blood pressure is still normal. My doctor wanted to put me on medication because my sugar is high, but I want to lose weight because I know once that is under control the sugar problem will go away.

    Most of my problem is that I have a sedentary life now. I went straight into the Army right out of high school and that was my job until four years ago. Doing PT everyday kept the weight off. I used to eat whatever I wanted and as much as I wanted. After my second child was born, the weight didn't come off automatically like it did when I had my first daughter. I had 30 lbs to lose so I started taking Stacker 3 (that's when ephedra was legal) and going to the gym during my lunch hour. That was on top of the PT (Physical Training) we did every morning at 5:30 am. The weight came off and stayed off....until now.

    I have resolved to get this weight off. My 13 year old daughter is wearing my old clothes that I used to fit! I'm going to take my Phen regularly, and thanks to the advice of the lovely ladies on this site, start drinking lots of water and do the Bootcamp DVD at home. This time next year, I'M GOING TO BE at my goal weight of 123!!!
