A little frustrated after this weekend, but hanging on strong. Last week I busted my little booty at the gym. I usually go Monday through Friday, cardio everyday. I do weights every Tuesday and Thursday. I gained three pounds over the weekend. It hits hard when you work extremely hard and something like this happens. Now I know why contestants cry on The Biggest Loser, poor things.

3Angels - Jay 85 is right, dont get frustrated. The 3lbs gained must be muscle you are gaining from the weight lifting. Keep in mind muscle is much leaner (even though it weighs more) than fat and also the more muscle you have the more fat you burnHave you tried measuring yourself when you do your weigh ins? Sometimes you will see inches lost but no loss (or a gain) on the scale. 11lbs lost is terrific, you need to give yourself a big pat on the back!!

This morning I was down another 2lbs, total of 17lbs. Nov. 16 will be a month.
Shoefiend~ Well I drink warm lemon water every morning and take my pill. Then I head to the gym on a empty stomach. I just do cardio for an hour, and I make sure my heart rate is atleast 160 or higher so I know I'm burning calories. Then I sit in the sauna for about 15- 20 minutes. I have 3 bottles of water while I'm there. Then I come home and eat a can of sardines in mustard sauce( I love them). They have protien and only 140 calories. Apple, cottage cheese, salmon, veggies are some of the things I will snack on. Then I eat a little portion of what I ever I make for dinner. And tons of water.
If I get hungry at night I will have popcorn....For now it's working for me. We will see what next month brings. I hope this helps somewhat. What are you doing?

As for my routine... I walk 2x per day. After I drop my son off for school I go to the park and walk the track 1.25 miles. Then when hubby gets home I go for another walk about 2.25 to 2.5 miles (5-6 days per week). I also do strength training 3x per week. I drink tons of water, sometimes with lemon. I drink green tea every am with lemon, I think that is as close to drinking warm water as I can get - lol. Oatmeal, eggbeaters, fresh fruits and veggies, fish and other lean protein. For snacks I have almonds, wasa crackers, light string cheese, yogurt. I have a horrible sweet tooth especially around TOM. The phen and chromium pico have drastically reduced it but if I have an occasional urge I keep sugar free jello/pudding and smart ones desserts on hand. Basically for the most part I try to keep my diet high in lean protein, low sodium and good carbs - no bad "white/processed" carbs. It seems to be working so far, most days I feel like I have to make myself eat my 3 meals to get in my 1200 cal.
As for the sardines, I have never tried them... Do you buy them in the mustard sauce or do you make it? I think I read on here somewhere that they have a lot of good nutrients. This maybe a silly question... do they have bones in them? lol - I have a weird thing about eating fish with bones... for some reason it freaks me out:P
I have heard that cold water is best to drink in the morning because it gets your metoblisim working faster because your body is working to get the water up to body temp. Plus that's all I can drink I don't like warm water haha.
I am at 153 as of this morning so I hope I can count it on Monday or lower! I want to be in the 140's by Thanksgiving! I didn't get that goal of Halloween but I think i wasnt' being realistic.
I haven't worked out since Saturday ARGH! So hopefully I can do it tomorrow. I'm starting to feel really sluggish again.

Shoefiend~ Sounds like your doing a great job!! Congrats to a good start on this wonderful journey! Yes I buy my sardines in mustard sauce, and yes they have bones lol. But they are very soft you can eat them, or just take it out. They are small. Just try them once and let me know what you think!!!
Christykoeb21~ what I have learned on drinking the warm lemon water in the morning is that the warm water wakes up your digestive system. The sooner you wake it, the sooner your metabolism kicks in: Which is good on many levels. The lemon works like a cleaner. They suggest using purifed, filtered or spring water (with good bacteria, just investigate it's source). Also, it is important to make it warm like body temperature...not hot. But for the rest of the day cold lemon water is great. Hope this helps explain it a little bit. Awesome job on the 23lbs!!

That does explain a little better thanks! That's interesting about that because I had just always heard its better to drink cold water so it gets the metabolism going. I definitely need to try lemon water though, I've never been a big fan of flavored water because of the taste it leaves in my mouth. I'll have to give it another shot though. Thanks on the congrats. I'm not counting it til Monday though so I'm hoping its more! Well I was 152.8 this morning so it looks like I'm going that direction.

I'm surprised I'm losing seeing as how I'm not working out and I'm just eating. I've been cleaning the house, but I haven't broke a sweat or anything. Maybe it's just the change my body needed. I'll start the shred again tomorrow at nap time most likely.

Just checking in to see how everyone is doing! I went back to the doctor last week and am down another 10 pounds. It seems like my weight loss is not as much as some of you, and although I am jealous, I am happy with the rate in which it is coming off. My doctor advised us (my sister and friend) that at 30 pounds people typically hit a plateau, but will advise us at that time how to work past that. My goal since the last appointment will be 30 lbs of total loss by the end of the year. From that day, I will have 8 weeks to lose another 9 pounds. That is just a little over a pound a week. Obviously I will be ecstatic if its more, but am being realistic as I know the first couple months the weight tends to come off pretty quick and then slows after that.
I hope everyone is doing well and staying motivated! I am happy to see all the big numbers on here! Great job everyone!

Anyways on to the lemon water - yes squeeze some fresh lemon juice in the water (dont use the lemon concentrate in the bottle). I usually cut up a couple wedges and squeeze the juice in the water and then throw the wedges themselves in also. But thats just me, I love lemon and the extra vitamin C.

As for the doc advising you of the plateau people generally hit after losing 30lbs.. Any info he gives you I would love to hear about. In the past I have lost weight and always seem to hit that wall at 30 - 40 lbs lost and then get discouraged and give upHence the yo - yo diet lose then gain tons more. Well, it is NOT gonna happen this time. So any advice he gives I would be forever grateful if you share

Been on phen for 3 wks. I do have a lot more energy and my house is super clean! But that's the only progress I'm seeing. I've gone from 227 to 215. But that was all in the first week. I eat about 1000 calories a day or less, drink so much water I almost get sick of it and again I'm doing more but I'm at a plateau that I've been at for about 2 wks now. I know I need to give it more time but I just am not seeing the results that I prayed for. Any encouragement or thoughts or tips to jump start anymore loss would be so appreciated. Thx for reading.

But anyway try eating more (I know doesn't sound right) But it will trick your body and might get you past that plateau. Your body might be thinking that 1000 is too little calories. Also are you exercising? If not try getting out and doing some brisk walking that might help trick your body also. Basically try doing something or eating something that isn't the norm and see if it helps break your plateau. Sometimes eating that food that is a no no will break it and you'll lose. Just make sure its in moderation and you keep up on your water intake to counter act any sodium you get so you don't retain water. Also are you drinking over 100oz of water I know you say you drink a lot but if you aren't getting over 100 then it might not be enough. I keep some water bottles around (6 to be exact) and it adds up to over 100oz so I just refill them whenever they are empty and keep them in the fridge so I can have cold water or else I won't drink water.

I started Phen Nov 4th,2009.Im not getting any energy from it, i think if my scales are right i have lost 5 pounds,Im wonder ing if anyone experiences depression on phen.This morning my legs feel week and i have no motivation at all!! I do have constant dizziness had this before the phen,and i have anxiety and take ativan and abilfy,wondering if any one else is on one of these meds,maybe the combo makes the energy not there I dont know,I also feelkinda confused but so need to lose this weight,Any comments

I agree with Christy, I would up my calories. If you eat too little your body will think you are starving it and in return will hold on to the fat and eat at your muscle. Also agree on the water - make sure to drink at least 1/2 your body weight in water. Watch your sodium intake also - especially in premade foods such as soup or frozen dinners. Find something you enjoy doing - taking a walk, dancing around the house with the music blaring, go rollerblading/skating, etc. Hope this helpsGood luck!

As for the energy, I have read on the forum that not everyone will get the energy burst or some of the other side effects like dry mouth, sleeplessness, etc. Everyone's body reacts differently to different medications. As for the depression... I have my ups and downs. One minute I am on top of the world and the next minute I am pissed at the world and the next I am crying. I have read some people take a supplement called 5HTP along with the Phen to help with the moodiness. I cant say for myself if I see any changes yet because I just bought some on Sunday and have only just started taking it..... It may or may not help.... You may want to talk to your doctor about the depression and see what he recommends. In reference to the drug combos aitvan and abilify, I would contact your local pharmacy and talk to the pharmacist to make sure the combo of all 3 together is not harmful. Best of luck![]()
I do not get energy at all it kind of ****s actually! I am surprised I've lost what I've lost. I don't even really get the appetite suppressing like everyone else. I still feel hungry and couldn't just not eat all day like others. I think the only side effect I get is headaches and thats mainly because I got a lot of headaches before for not drinking my water. Also I read that if you take Tylenol (just the acediminiphine sorry can't spell it) it will actually give you headaches if you take it too much and that is me I constantly taking tylenol. So one day when I had a headache I took my last excedrin migrane and my headache went away fast and stayed away as with the tylenol it would just get numb and then come back. - Ok sorry I'm rambling but thats really all I can relate too. I do have my up days and my down days of depression, but I can't say if its related to phen or just my over mood. I have no energy and i think that helps my mood too. So I try to usually does stuff to make myself happy and not think about those down days.

hi im new ...been on phen since nov 4th starting weight was 159 pounds this morning i weighed naked and my scales said 148 i think they r wrong.today im feeling my heart rate is fast and my chest kinda feels funny.......my heart drput me on these pills as i gained the weight pretty fast in two months went up2 pant sizes and i have high colestral.my question is can phen damage the heart? i have very bad anxiety and take meds for it,the phen does not give me energy asi was told,,,i see u say u dont get energy either,,,im knda scared how my heart feels today but for heath reasons i need to get back down,I know to some im not that heavy but from where i was at 130 up to almost 160 is a jump.i hope u can offer some advice
Alright, I went on vacation for 4 days and had to let go. I am still at 190lbs, but those 4 days killed me, we aren't talking about that (lol). I'm back to basics and eating right. I love the generous and caring attitudes everyone has and really I'm very thankful for this site and all its members. Just knowing I'm not the only one going thru this really helps me mentally to know that I CAN do this. Again thank you all very very much.
I will let everyone know what the doctor says about getting past the hump. Hopefully, fingers crossed, I will be at 30 pound total loss by my next appointment, but I am realistic, and will be ok with five.

My weight stayed the same this week. I feel like onederland is toying with me. Actually, I am okay with it. I worked a couple of extra shifts at the hospital this week on nights and it kind of threw my routine off. After staying up all night, I didn't take a couple doses of phen and I have been able to maintain, so not too shabby.

I'm taking colon cleanse, that I got at the health food store, very gentle, with no cramping. It is full of fiber.
More people at work are noticing my weightloss, which is nice. I didn't lose weight this week, but down more inches. I can't believe my belly is actually looking smaller. I am using the firming cream twice daily and doing my ab workout daily.

Hi I'm new - been using phen since Sept 16 and to date have lost 31 lbs...I'm hoping to be able to keep this up - I am worried about developing a tolerance to phen, so I normally just take 1/2 a pill in the afternoon and only every couple days will take a whole pill. does anyone else do this?
