Default Over a month on Phen

I have been on Phen since 9/17. I have lost 21# so far. I am pleased with this number. I had been seeing a Dietician, which I am mostly done with now. I keep my calories between 1000-1400 most days. That is how I have lost this whole time. I have had days were I wasn't too hungry, and ate healthy foods anyway. My Dietician told me that if I ate too little, my metabolism would just quit. So, I am very careful. I am exercising some, but intend to start moving a whole lot more. My husband and I are going to join a gym near our home.
I am excited to have a really cute Halloween Costume that I will wear with pride. I am excited to wear smaller clothing and I am so happy that I am going down in sizes. I hope to lose another 20# within the next few months.
I am also excited to sport a bikini or at least a smaller bathing suit... I will just be happy to feel more comfortable in less clothing.

I have the craving for bread to. I'm originally from Philadelphia and us Philly people LOVE our breads! lol I've been using www.my-calorie-counter.com and in the afternoon I'll go through and fill in what I've eaten all day. You program it for how many calories, fats, carbs etc. you want as a max in the day and it'll tell you how much you have left. It's really helping me, because I'm having a hard time eating enough, let alone eating enough calories... I don't want my body to go into starvation mode.

I started on 6th. I could not have imagined that I would be down 13 pounds before the end of the month. Now I am so hoping to be down at least to 215 or so by the end of the year.

We all have things we need to vent about. I caught myself writing this long post about my hubby yesterday in Word. Well, I got busy here at work and didn't post it. Oh well. We are here for each other. Sometimes it helps us not be so frustrated with the weight loss or gain, home issues or work issues.
Thank you! Yes I do find I need to vent a lot.

Hi there! I am on 37.5 mg right now. When I started I was on 15mg. Phen for me so far has been great. I've really only experience the headaches and thats usually only if I don't drink enough water.

Congrats to everyones weightloss updates!!!!

As for me, it has been a week since I started Phen at 178 and when I stepped on that same scale this morning the numbers read 170!!

8lbs in one week? I never thought it possible, especially for me, someone who has NEVER commited to a diet for this long before. (Yea I know.. I was bad lol) My goal is to lose 4lbs each week. I find that setting this smaller goal is a lot easier to reach for than a whopping 50lbs in so many months.

Goodluck to everyone in the upcoming week!!

Hey guys. my name is Dene (pronounced Da-nay lol) 28 years old, married with a 6 year old and a 7 month old. Last year I reached my all time high of 204 pounds= nearly caught a heart attack when i saw that number and decided it was time to do something. Enrolled at my local gym and started at LA weightloss in april. By July I was down nearly 25 pounds and got pregnant with my son. Thankfully, I had gained only about 19 pounds and lost it all within weeks following delivery. Started back where I left off- was having a serious plateau issue and decided to try out Phen october 1. This month I'm down 12 pounds and 2 pants sizes... i'm aiming for 150- we shall see good luck everyone!

Hi Dene! Welcome My name is Brandy. I am 32 yrs old, married with a 9 yr old son. I have had trouble with my weight and yo yo dieting 4 as long as I can remember. Before I met my husband I lost a ton of weight. Then we married and all the weight plus more came back to haunt me. I too have reached my all time high and nearly died of a heart attack when I saw the scale. Now I am ready to make this my lifetime committment. I am so ready to get rid of this sheild of fat- I feel like it is suffocating me. I started phen on 10/16, changed my eating habits and added exercise - so far so good 10lbs down in 2 weeks Good luck to you as well and keep us updated on your progress. I know I find the support, updates, etc very motivational!

Hello all! These last few days have a been crazy it seems. But it's the start of a new week and it will hopefully be slower now. Maybe I can actually get back into exercising at naptime and drinking enough water.

I'm down to 156.6 YAY! (this morning I was up about a pound but I think its water weight I didn't get enough yesterday oh well). Only 31 pounds to go to get to my ultimate goal but only 21 lbs to get to a goal weight I'd be happy at probably.

Welcome all the newbies! I'll try to get more personable tomorrow Hubby is leaving today for work so I'm gonna try to spend my time with him and the kiddos.

Hello everyone, I started Phentermine on October 19,2009. I have to say I was a little skeptical being a nurse and hearing some bad things about this medication but so far it has been great for me. Please feel free to let me know any tips or tricks of the trade for Phentermine users. I wish you all good luck.

Christy you look great!!! Keep going lady you will be at your goal before you know it. Congrats on the weight loss.

Nursek - welcome!!! Keep reading the boards. There are several senior phen takers that you can learn from what they post.

A good weekend for me. I mostly stayed on track--Sundays are usally my days to be a little more relaxed with my regimine but I still watch what I eat.

Hope everyone is doing okay. This week will be one month for me and I will stepping up my efforts.

Thank you all so much! This gave me a big smile this morning. Just what I needed. I can't stop looking at these. Before I took the pictures I thought to myself that my stomach doesn't look any smaller, but I said I think I am because I can finally fit into these pants again! HAHA. But still didn't think I had that much of a difference. It's crazy!

I'm also just wondering what made me let myself go this far. I couldn't believe I looked like that (I thought I looked much skinnier. WRONG)

Welcome! I too had reservations about starting. I asked one friend a million questions about it and researched for months before finally taking the chance to ask my dr. I knew I was in the acceptable BMI range (31) to be considered a candidate, but still worried she would tell me no. But here I am today!

I think I might be the odd one out though, because all the side effects that are talked about don't happen with me (besides the less hunger and some times I feel my heart rate a little more). Otherwise I don't get the extra energy boost, constipation (thank goodness), sleeplessness, or dry mouth. I think it might be because my dr started me on the 15mg dose. So maybe that helped ease my body into the medication. But any way I'm babbling now so I'll let you go! Hope to see you around more!

Hi, everyone. Had a rough weekend at work. Got a confirmed case of H1N1. It seems that a lot of the patients that we have been getting lately, have been younger and younger, having heart attacks in their 30's and 40's, who ever heard of such a thing???

They had a carry in this weekend at work and I was very good. I took things that I knew were safe for me to eat. I wasn't even tempted by the halloween candy, cakes and cookies. I am down 19lbs, in almost 5 weeks.

I was leary of phen too, I had ask my primary care doc about it and he said no, I won't give it to you because of the risk of pulmonary hypertension. I forgot about it for a while and then about 6 nurses went and had lapband surgery and I didn't want to go that route, so I decided to go to the weightloss clinic and get phen. I started it after they had the lapband placed and I have lost more weight then many of them. Lapband would definitely be a last resort for me and not sure I would consider it at all, I'm not much for any elective procedure. There is one nurse that got it though and it has worked well for her, she looks absolutely beautiful, so like everything else, its a matter of what you put in to it.

Hoping we all have a great week of weightloss. I officially weigh on wed, so on tuesday, I call it my "last chance workout" and I am like a mad woman. I love Biggest Loser and to watch their weigh ins and to see them pull big numbers.

Christy, your pics look great. I need to take the time and take some myself.

Best of luck,

Shelia

Red face new and am trying to figure out this site and in need of answer's and friends

Hi my name is Jasmine and I started phen on (Oct.7th,2009 189lbs) I have never been thin. I started to gain weight when I moved in with my boyfriend. SO my friend got me to go to a weight loss clinic with her. I do the 37.5 dose and the first week I lost 7lbs. The second I lost 1 and I weighed myself today (Nov.2,2009 174 lbs) I lost 1. I have been working out 4 times a week 40 min cardio 20 min weight on different machines 4 set's of 10. I'm 5'7 and my goal is 135. I wanted to ask if maybe I'm doing something wrong since my progress has gotten slow. Also I try to eat 1200 and It is so hard for me I usually eat alot but I have made my portion sizes accurate and small. I have kept track and I noticed I consume only 800 calories a day. I think that is really not healthy. SO does anyone have tips on how to consume more but healthy? I'm not sure what to do I Don't want my body to hate me and think I'm starving it. So maybe if you have any meal plan tips I would love to hear it! or workout advice.

Red face I'm a late october starter!

Hi! I started taking phen on oct 27 and was excited but worried that I wouldn't get results like everyone else had. I started at 227 and today (less than one week later) I am 215. I haven't been able to do real workouts yet (a sit down job and 3 kids that have more active social lives than I do!) But fully intend to begin lots of activities and exercise! I've been keeping a food diary for a long time already and I'm usually motivated to eat less and do more. I just am sort of counting on phen to not work for me the way everything else has. I guess I'm just wanting results like super fast and I'm not staying patient and optimistic. I'm here for any tips anyone would like to give and would love to share experiences with others. And any desk exersizes or quick break workout tips would be deeply appreciated! Thx for reading!

Hi Jay85 and Doescoookies! Welcome!

Doescookies - you are doing great. I know there are probably some seasoned phen takers that can give you exercises to do at your desk. Only thing I can suggest is leg lifts, modified push ups, lunges and squats.

Jay85 - don't be discouraged. Your calories could be too low. Try upping your calories to 1000. Also, you may want to go to sparkpeople. Get a free account and it can tell you what calories you need to lose weight and the exercises that will give you the best results. Alsol, how much water are you taking in every day. Shoot for half of your weight in water.

Hope this helps.

Default thx for then encouragement!

Hello again! Thx for the response. Today I had a rough day. I woke up way early did some exercizes that I looked up on YouTube and drank almost triple what I do normally. So when I weighed in at 217 today I was upset. So I guess I'm gonna step up the activity and turn down the food intake even more. However I ate 2 fruits and some toast to ease my acidic stomach this evening. I don't know. Maybe I'm being negative and that's affecting my day to day results. Maybe I should only weigh in once a week. I just know that I want to change my life now like I never have before. And I'm doing so many things that are out of my comfort zone but better for me so I don't understand why the lack of loss? Any inspiring words?

Good news is I have kept off the 20 lbs I did lose when I was on it (I took it for 2 months). Bad news is I still want to lose 40 (or more) pounds So I have an appt. on Friday to get back on Phen. I can't wait! I'll be back on the forum after I receive my script, but I wanted to share a few things I learned...Firstly DRINK YOUR WATER, not only is this essential to your weight loss but in my personal experience helps, if not eliminates, almost ALL of the side effects of Phen. Secondly, there are differences in the different kinds of generic pills. When I say "kinds" I'm talking manufacturers. I got one prescription at a little mom and pop pharmacy and they worked great (this was the 2 months I lost 20lbs)...took a few months off (per dr's orders)...got my second prescription filled at Target, they were crap. I took the entire 2 month prescription and maybe lost a pound AND I couldn't even tell when I had taken it. No energy boost or any of the side effects. I doubt it was immunity because I had only done one 2 month round and then took 2 months off before starting my second round. So my advice is this, if you have a generic and it seems to be working good for you make note of the imprint on the pill and look up who the manufacturer is and when you get a refill just ask the pharmacist if those are the same ones they have in stock. If not make some calls to see if another pharmacy has them. Seems like a lot of work but after my depressingly bad second round I don't wish that on anyone!

Sorry so long! Talk to you guys on Friday!

Oh, will there be a November/December thread by then, that's the one I should be joining...Good luck to you all!!

Marcus -- that's awesome, congrats!

Doescookies -- I try to ignore the daily fluxuations. The overall trend is definitely downward.

Try -- My bottle says Phentermine, manufactured by Sandoz.

Jay -- I agree with LeJune, up your calories a little. When my Irish body thinks the Famine has returned, I hold onto weight like mad.

Shelia -- I used to lament I wasn't fat enough for the lapband; after finding Phen and this forum, I am so glad I wasn't. I've known three surgery people and one lapbander; they all lost weight but only one of the surgery people ever got down to a normal weight, the other 3 are still obese even after a year.

My friend's son's been diagnosed with H1N1. Poor kid. I'm hoping that he's in the 99% who just feel miserable and lousy for a few days, but I haven't heard back from her yet.

Doescookies - don't weigh in everyday it will drive you crazy going up and down. Just once a week is a good start

tryingtogetfiner - I am not sure of the "brand" I get. I get my prescription from Walgreens--with my insurance it costs me $3.03 for a month's supply.

Marcus - WTG!!!!!

Airsoft - I sure hope your son feels better

How is everyone today. I am doing better I just vented on another post. Didn't eat much yesterday. My major issue is with eliminations. I had a magnesium citrate last night and I am still feeling the effects. I have been eating this same bowl of oatmeal for the last hour and half. LOL.

I actually met my first goal, I seem to stall at 208 and I am at 205, so I was able to break that cycle. We will see what this next week brings, new mini goal of 199.

Getting ready to do an ab tape with Tony Horton and then head to the gym for 60 min on the elliptical. Woohoo!!!!

Welcome Fitmommagoose, Nursek, Jay85 and Doescookies!

Hope everyone is doing well. I am on my 3rd week and feeling fantastic! My clothes are getting pretty baggy, especially in my stomach and tush. The baggier they get the happier I get I am doing well with my exercise routine of walking 2x daily (am and pm) and strength training 3x a week. Most days I have to force myself to eat, which is great cuz I used to force myself to stop eating - lol. Is anyone having troubles with meeting their calorie daily intake? My doc recommended 1200 and most days I seem to only eat between 1000 - 1100. Do you think this will be a problem? I know that is isnt a huge difference but I dont want to hurt my metabolism or have issues when I go off phen...

As I have entered this 5th week, my appetite has leveled out. I have made many habit changes, so that helps. Sometimes I do find myself only getting in 1100 cals too. Most days it is 1200 or more, because if I am burning 500-900 cals on the elliptical, my body will just go in to starvation mode and hold on to everything. Since I eat higher protein, I just don't get that hungry, so I have to actually work at getting enough cals in, wow, what a twist

It looks as if everyone is on the fast track to weightloss. Can't wait to see the numbers that we post for Dec. 1! Wishing everyone great success for November.

I have started my phen-course 10/25. Unfortunately, I haven’t lost much. Only 8 lbs are gone so far. I do morning exercises every day, but I can’t strictly follow the diet prescribed to me. Maybe it’s the main reason of my unsuccessful story. My goal is to get rid of 28 extra lbs. I am happy that so many of you have achieved amazing results! You are my motivation to go on with phentermine and achieve my life dream. Thank you for the moral support and your willingness to share advice and practical experience! It does help a lot to continue my treatment and not give in.
