Morning, I didnt get to check in yesterday because I was busy sleeping on and off. lol I guess I was catching up from the weekend I had - with family here between staying up late...getting up early..and cleaning every time I turned around. I was in dire need of a day like yesterday. I did get to workout yesterday in the am...so it wasnt a total waste.

Today is a new day and I am feeling blah..could I have slept too much? I guess I am going to make some coffee and maybe that will put some pep in my step. I have nothing going on today but laundry...I just hope to get enough energy to get in my workout this evening when my daughter or hubby get home.

Suburban - sounds like a fun class. As for the scale you dont have to get on it yet..you will know when you are ready..make it a day when you are feeling great - not bloated and light. =) That will motivate you..I am weighing in on Fridays. Ugh...

BrandNew - I bet after 2 days most if not all of those 7 lbs will be gone..its probably mostly water. I am glad to see you back. =)

    Where is everyone?!

Today I am feeling a lot better, had been sick for several days and just had no motivation to do anything. Good thing I am feeling better cause I have to work my second job today.
I am going to weigh in this Saturday at the clinic. I am hoping to have lost some of the "holiday weight", to give a fresh boost of confidence. Plus, I think a lot of the weight is water weight! Anyway, I am glad to be back online with you guys cause you all keep me motivated and more accountable. You all send your prayers my way. I have to go to the OBGYN today at noon for an ultrasound. I have been having pelvic pain, pain near my ovaries, cramping and just have not been feeling well, so they are going to check me out to see what is going on. Whatever it is, God will see me through it.
I think I might have to get the doctor to increase my dosage of Phen. I have been on 15mg since August. With at least one two week break. He also gave me 35mg Phendimetrazine to take one hour before lunch and supper as needed. It is suppossed to give you that extra appetitie support if you feel you need it. Is anyone else using Phendimetrazine?? I know on some other forums people are using it by itself.

Suburban- Sounds like you really enjoyed yourself in that exercise class. Exercise is so much easier when it does not feel like your exercising.

LeJune- What's up? Miss you girl. Keep up the good work.

Val- When I took two weeks off of Phen, it was a little rough on some days. But when I got back on it, it felt like it did when I first started taking it. It really suppressed my appetitie really well. So it was worth taking the two weeks off.

Suite- I understand the need for rest after the relatives and holidays are over. I was in the bed yesterday at 6pm. LOL!

Well just got back from OBGYN and they did not really see anything on the ultrasound, except a cyst on my ovary. The technician said the doc will call if they see anything else. I am so relieved, however, that does not help the discomfort I feel. She said it could gastrointestinal. In any case, I feel so much better that she did not see anything alarming. Praise God. Well, let me go so I can eat my grilled chicken salad. Yum!

Brand New - I know that ovarian cyst pain all too well. I had a procedure done to have one removed (the other dropped the day before the procedure thank gawd). Just my luck that they both didn't drop.

Val - You can see a difference in them pictures. Check out that hour glass shape your forming!

I want to feel like Suburban Mom did last night! That's awesome motivation.

Suite - I slept 9 hours last night, is that too much?? I don't normaly sleep that much but I couldn't keep my eyes open last night. I don't know why they call it beauty sleep because my eyes were puffy.

Suburban - I read your post about you not getting enough sleep, I think I slept enough for both of us.

I was able to maintain through out the holidays. I think it's due to being separated from my family in So Cal. I can feel a cellulite dimple forming as I think about my mama's food. lol

Our hot water tank went out at my boyfriends house just before New Years Eve and try getting a reasonable plumber around that time. The good thing about it is that we're working out at the gym daily to shower up.

Cheers to everyone & Happy New Year!

O.k so not much of a braek for me (LOL) Doctor said that since ive been off and not for long that i might relapse before making it to goal and i had all test (ekg, labs) he suggest not much of a break because my body is so use to it and gives me energy with my B-12 injections that i should remain on them. he also said no harm for me because it has been 6 months but i've only had phen about 4 out of the 6 so i got a new refill today but won't start taking them til next week. I have noticed an increase in fatique without them anyone else experience this?
Im happy i got another refill on my Adipex

Val - I didn't notice much fatigue through out the day...maybe because i slowly weened myself off of it by taking half a pill daily then switched to every other day. I did notice that it was much easier to go to sleep at night.

Hey everyone--it is crazy here. They are thinking it may snow again tomorrow or Saturday.....good grief. We are preparing for trial and things are crazy of course around here.

Bad news - the trainer tried to kill me yesterday. He had me doing squats on that dog gone machine with one leg--now you know me and my good bionic leg was having a fit. Then he had me against the wall with a 50 lb weight in my hand sliding against this big ball. Good grief. Step ups. THEN to top it off he put me on a pilates machine and made me to squat ups--for sake of calling it something else. I could hurt him. My butt is still killing me.

Good news - I have dropped 2 more pounds. I was bad over the holidays--really. I didn't gain but 2-5 pounds but they wouldn't leave for some reason. Anyway, I am at 225. I gave one of the young girls at church a lot of my clothes. She is a 22. I have a bunch of 20's I can get out of now.

I have this skirt on today and I look like I am a part of some "sec" that doesn't allow the women to show their shape. Not totally homely yet--because my sweater is fitting. LOL. What's funny about this sweater it is the one I bought a Target in a XXL. So it is working with me and not against me.

Hubby has cut out all sweets because of the year church routine. Thank God for the Daniel Fast. I got him 2 pair of jeans for Christmas they are size 64 waist. One pair ran a little big and the other fit him exact. Still no luck with shoes the 15 5E's I got--don't fit him. 15 6E's look like Hermann Monster shoes but I guess that is what he is going to have to wear. LOL.

Got to get back to work now......we have close to a full house in my section.

Can you believe I am just 50 lbs from my goal?

Anyone have any suggestions for brand of thermals to go to NY with? You know we do not have the good kind here in Houston--we hardly ever have winters.

Hey Good Morning!! Hope everyone had a beatuiful Christmas and a Happy New Year! I sure did! For most of the last part of the holidays i went off phen. I just needed a break, and I don't have too many pills left. But now that the new year has come, I am back on them. I gained slightly over the holidays but i'm back on track and even lower than what i started as around christmas. My friends and family are all noticing the difference and giving me encouragement! It's a whole 15.2 lbs now! I'm super happy about it! I didn't make my new years resolution, but i'm only a couple lbs away. I know within a week or two i'll make it!

Val, I wanted to tell you that since i started taking phen, i've only been taking half a pill a day for the most part (first thing in the morning). Unless i feel I'm really hungry, i don't normally take the second half later in the day. It seems to have the same effect for me if i take a whole, because i've tried both. (who knew?? lol) So, don't worry about having trouble w/ only half a pill once you start to ween yourself off it. In regards to your question, I don't seem to have a lack of energy when i don't take it. Somedays I don't even take it at all just to make sure i'm not getting dependant on it. Good luck with starting back up!!

Take care, everyone!! missed you all over the holidays!

Morning, Ladies!! I didnt check in yesterday...I was all over the place yesterday..lol

My first offficial WI of the year and I am down 9. I knew most of that was water weight. But I am still 4 lbs over my lowest since being on phen..so I am happy that at least the scale is moving in the right direction again. I havent worked out though..not since Monday. Not sure why..I guess I just needed a break...Sometimes I get like this. As long as I stay on point with my diet I will be fine. I will get with it again Monday - whether I want to or not. lol

Jes - sooo nice to see you. You are pretty close to your goal. =) How exciting.

LeJune - way to go on your loss. Wow, your goal is upon you...I know you feel great. You should and be proud of yourself. You are adding years to your life.

BrandNew - Glad that you were able to rule that out. Keep us posted. I remember it took 2 years to finally get diagnosed with endometriosis. 2 years of pain and frustration. Be diligent and listen to your body. Keep going until you get your answer. A Grilled Chicken salad sounds so good right now. Its only 11 but I have been craving a really good salad for a few days now.

Val - how are you, lady?

Good morning, everyone. Snow again today and it is so cold. You all from Michigan probably are freezing too. In any case, I have to weigh in tomorrow. It is the first time since before Christmas and I am very, very nervous about where I am. I have done well with my eating since the New Year, but I am still nervous. I do not want to get discouraged. It is funny because people are calling me the "Incredible Shrinking Woman" at work. They think I am about 20 pounds lighter than I am. It is encouraging me to keep on. I really think I am getting smaller, but I am not sure the scale is going to reflect that. I am back to writing everything down that I eat; I had stopped doing that for about three weeks due the holidays. Hope everyone is having a great day.

LeJune, Suite and Jes- Congrats on your weight loss!!!! Keep up the good work. I think this is going to be a kick butt year for lossess!

Cuddle Duds (as seen on Oprah)!!!!!!! My co-worker just came back from NY and we suggested them (but never tried them) and she loves loves loves them. She said only her face, hands and feet were cold and wished they had cuddle duds for that.

    Hi Ladies,

Ok, no more stomach crunches for me. I had my 6 month post op doctors appointment from Hernia surgery and the doctor advised me not to do any type of stomach excercises
. Ive been having pain and it may be the hernia trying to come back, Damn! My stomach and mid section is my biggest problem, my stomach probally weighs alone 15 pounds (LOL) But anyway lot's of walking for me.

    How is everyone doing?

Brand New - your doing great hun and don't listen to people at your job , I asked one of the girls at mine if she could see that i've loss weight and she said NO, WTF! I just looked at her and told her that i've loss over 20 pounds since june and she refuses to acknowledge. Some women just can't handle the truth.

I've got an excercise challenge for everyone for motivation: I'm doing 40 minutes 7 day's a week from now on until my daughters 2nd birthday February 11th 2010. Ive never excercised 7 days a week. boy is this gonna be a challenge for me.
All that wants to join in let me know and i'll post everyday about my workout's, Remember every little bit counts even if your to tired to do it , 5 minutes, 10 minutes, 20 minutes, whatever you do counts.

I have a pair of pants that i'm trying to fit into by her birthday , i'll post pictures later of me trying them or attemping to (LOL) they don't come over my hips but im so damn determined to get into those jeans.

Let me know, we can do this

Val - I wouldnt worry too much...best thing is to do cardio to melt the fat around your abs...doing ab work wont necessarily make it smaller but it will strengthen the muscles underneath...once you burn the fat off they will show..so just keep moving..dont let that discourage you. =)

I am sitting here waiting for my darling hubby to wake up from his nap so I can workout..ugh...I guess I will eat a little something..he has an hour than I am waking his booty up. lol

    Thanks Tequila for the info.

Doctor's appointment was good. BP was a little below the normal. Great oxygen, etc. Doctor gave me 1 extra refill--and asked me what my goal was. She said okay--you know once you get to 175 you will get obsessed and go lower. I was like nah, I just want to look good.

I went to get hair done today--hairstylist hadn't seen me in a while and was absolutely shocked. That really made me feel good!!!!

I got a new pair of tennis shoes. My old ones from last year are almost a full size too big. Wow???? I got my face threaded today--OUCH--why do I keep doing this to myself but you can really see my face is slimmer.

I turned down sushi in HEB tonight twice--can't believe that. I went to Pappadeaux last night after I got off work at 8:30 p.m. and had the cedar plank Salmon with asparagus. YUM so good. Yep, we were at the office late--it will just get worse with the trial starting next month and it is here in Houston. Sad thing it may not settle, so that means it will last at least a month.

Hubby--was in pity party mood. He wanted to know if I feel different and I could not tell him yes because there would be even more drama. Basically, he said he feels like he needs to start over because he has allowed himself to be in a whole not just financially but his weight, spiritually and as a person. My suggestion was that he just wake up tomorrow and declare his new start and change. Well, he kept on with the woe is me drama, so I asked him what he was going to do--what city would he go to. Yes, I said "he" not "we". LOL. So 20 minutes into this soap opera I told him, well it's pretty cold everywhere right now, so you may want to take you so warm clothes. I didn't hear another word from him concerning that from that moment on. LOL.

I was looking through my computer pictures and I saw a picture of me right before my accident in 2008 with Hubby. If I can take one of me now, I will upload it. I can put my fingers around my wrist now and my thumb and middle overlap a little. YAY!!!

Hey everybody--Suite, Val, Dee, Tequilla, Emcee, BrandNew, Hardy, Suburban, Waiting. I hope I haven't missed anyone. I am so tired--I will respond tomorrow.

LeJune - I was smiling as I read your post..and LOL when you were describing your hubby "breakdown". Keep it up girl. How tall are you? Post pics..yeah!

    Where is everyone?

Well, I bought the Eat-Clean Diet yesterday I have read it before after taking it out for the library. But I dont think I was really ready at that time. I am ready now and will beging making the changes today. I dont want to make the mistake of going 190% only to relapse and go nutzo. So, I am going to continue to eat as clean as possible and phase out the lil things that I still hold on to - like mainly my coffee and cream...I used to just have it with milk but I saw that stupid commercial for the International Delights cream and omg the White Choco Mocha is the only one I have tried and I absolutely love it. I am going to not buy anymore when it is done and once my coffee finishes I wont buy it again..that is the hardest to get rid of especially since it has become a habit. That is honestly the hardest for me to let go. I probably will still have it occasionally when I am out if I am in the mood and go by a Starbucks which is very very rare.

I also took a book out from the Library yesterday called Prescription for Natural Cures - which is basically just treating our health problems with diet and nutrition and some supplements. I suffer from depression and want to get off the meds so I have already started weaning off those and acid reflux. Also, the phen honestly isnt really working for me anymore I just take it for energy so when I run out I most likely wont get anymore. When I start running low I will start weaning myself off. We shall see. I think lately I have really been wanting to just take care of myself and be healthy not just thin and sexy and confidant and...lol..okay I will stop there...heehee

One problem for me.. a HUGE one is that I never finish anything I start...I really cant stand that about myself..so I have to really try to stick with this...the result will be a nice lean strong body..so what the heck is wrong with me? lol I have to get to it. You would laugh if you saw me sitting at my dining room table with the laptop surrounded by books..lol..my water, coffee (of course) and I even bought a pocket planner to make notes and record. I have to laugh at myself. =)

Like I have been saying...Stop talking about IT and BE about IT!

Phew I am longwinded this morning...I will check back in after my workout... =)

Hi everyone, yesterday i did 90 minutes on treadmill, burned 500 calories, and over 2.5 miles. Wow! At first i was going to just do my reg 40 minutes but got my inspiration from my gospel collection on my mp3 player and by the time i was done i had done 90 minutes. First time ever ive worked out that long. Now my body is feeling the pains of working out but i'll rejoice with results soon.

Todays plan at least 30 minutes on treadmill or lets see if i can beat my workout from yesterday. Wish me luck !

    Let's get fit for 2010

I'm back from working out , 30 minutes of cardio feel's great.
The key to excercise is never stop, cause it's so hard to get back in the swag of things. My goal is to post all my workouts even if it's 10 minutes or so.

Talk to you guy's later, Have a great Sunday!

Good morning everyone! Good news, I lost 4 pounds, for a total of 48.5 pounds. But interesting enough, the nutritionist told me I had lost 51 pounds. What?? Come to find out, that the first day at the clinic, they weighed me in at 265, not 262.5, which I thought I was. So I have lost actually 51 pounds. I think I am going to change my stats to reflect that!!! Woo-hoo! That gave me so much fire, to work harder.

Val- I am so in awe of you and your committment to work out. I have always been able to eat well when I am dieting, but exercising is so hard. Today, my husband is switching the gym membership into my name. Because frankly, he is not using it at all.

Suite- Is the eating clean diet, like eating whole vegetables and fruits?? Does it allow for meat that is only organic??

LeJune-I got my hair done on Saturday too, it was looking pretty bad. LOL! I have been saying for a month now I have to get new shoes too. I wear a size 7 and I really think I can get a 6 1/2 and be ok.

LeJune - My boyfriend fights with himself too. He tells me to force him to go to the gym with me, so the day of, we get home at 5:30pm..... he decides he needs a nap before going to the gym. Then he needs to stretch for 15 minutes before he can get ready. Before you know it, it's 7:30pm and we're barely out the door. He was mad when I told him I wasn't waiting (after that nap episode happened twice), the train leaves by 6pm with or without his booty. Since then, he hasn't gone with me but still wants me to force him to go then gets upset if I ask. WHATEVER, it's his bod not mine.

Suite - I was addicted to coffee. Did you know that Starbucks has a "short" size?? I get those when I need a fix. It seemed like a shot of coffee at first but it satisfied that craving.

Val - Keep up with the awesome work out!!

Hardy - how are you doing on your goal, you're soooo close.

ok - FOOT IN MOUTH, RIGHT HERE!!

Thoughtless co-workers!!! A co-workers son was shot in another state. I asked how they're doing, is he alive?? The only response I get from 2 managers and a co-worker is, "i don't know". I ask the next day, same thing, "I don't know, haven't heard."

A week goes by, nothing. Today the co-worker was here and I asked him how his son is doing???? HE'S DEAD! Then one of the managers walks by and says he thought he told me!!! UGH!

My foot is too big, anyone got a smaller foot? Time to go..

I just can't understand my body , ive been working out and eating right and i said i wasnt going to get on the scale but something made me do it anyway , how the hell am i 5 and a hlf pounds more than i was in less than a week ago???????
What am i doing wrong? It make me feel like a failure now i'm emotionally depressed , I never want to eat again!!! Sorry ladies for venting but i'm working so hard to lose weight and it scares me, i never want to see 260 on the scale again! Maybe i just need a break from it all and continue to excercise and eat right without the Phen?

Any words of wisdom from anyone to lift my spirit.

Val- You might want to check your measurements. It is a good chance with all the working out, that you picking up muscle. And muscle weighs more than fat. You might be getting tighter and smaller, but gaining muscle. Don't be discouraged.

Val - are you drinking any protein shakes after your work out? One thing to remember is that your muscles will hold more water when trying to recover (hense the sore feeling after a work out). Or if something you ate had a little too much salt in it, but don't worry, you'll pee it out. lol Be patient and remember that's why you didn't want to weigh yourself everyday!!!! And, Brand New is right, your weight will fluctuate all the while you may be losing inches.

Thanks guys for the advice, you know what i have been doing weights and muscle does weigh more than fat , i could be building muscle, huh? Well i definitley don't want to get discourages and fall of the wagon agian. I'll try to stay motivated and increase my water a little more. I really don't want to result in surgery but i've been thinking about it lately though.

I'll keep all you guys informed, pray for me !

Oh another question ???? does birth control pills make you gain weight? I have heard of some people saying that when they got on the pill they gained weight.

Val- This information from the Womens Health Resource might help you out:

Do birth control pills stimulate your appetite?
There have been reports through the years, especially with the older, higher dose pills, of adverse effects on insulin resistance. Even recent studies seem to indicate that current pills can raise insulin levels. Insulin resistance is a condition in which insulin levels rise in response to carbohydrates and drive all energy into the fat cells and essentially prevent weight loss even with dieting.

Do oral contraceptives cause water retention and how much?
Estrogen in high doses is known to cause weight gain especially that due to fluid retention. The more estrogen there is in a pill, the more tendency to gain weight such that a 50 mcgm pill will result in more weight gain than a 35 mcgm pill .

However, it says that all women react differently to birth control pills, so it is not gospel!

Wow, ladies..I have sure missed you. The last 2 days have been hectic. I did start ChaLEAN and I am following her chart. So today was my 2nd workout yesterday was a day off which I really needed because I had class last night and a million things to do around here. I ended up changing my schedule so last nights class was unexpected. I am feeling hopefull about myself. Trying to at least.

Val - soooo, sorry that I wasnt checking in. I know how that feels when you get on the scale and have been doing everything right and not see it move in the right direction. But, DO NOT let that discourage you. Consistancy is key. If you read any successfull weight loss story you will see that throughout. Dont worry about the scale because it fluctuates. I can sooo relate to how you are feeling..I think I have mentioned that in so many of previous posts. (((hugs))) As long as you keep doing what you are doing it will pay off.

BrandNew - High 5 woman!!! Thats awesome. See we are opposite..my biggest struggle is the diet part I love love love love to workout. lol As for The Eat Clean Diet its not a Diet like South Beach..Its basically a lifestyle of eating clean foods. Back to basics - shopping the perimeter of the supermarket- meat - whole grains - fruits and veggies..just no processed food - in order for it to be considered "clean" it must not have any preservatives and stuff like that. I just need to do something about what I eat..that is what is holding me back..I need balance. =/

Tequila - you remind me so much of myself sometimes with your stories. lol Umm..I am sooo not giving up my coffee. lol..the cream can go but I just dont think I can do it..lol...

I am reading a book which is really great for where I am right now. It is called "If I am so smart why cant I lose weight?" by Brooke Castillo. I think you can all benefit from it. Let me know if you pick it up and tell me your thoughts.

Well, I am here catching up on work took a break to check in with you ladies. Glad to see we are still together and hanging in there. I will try checking back in tonight before bed..if not see you in the AM.

Good morning everyone. Hope everyone is doing well. I am doing ok this morning. I am a little worried about my co-worker who is Haitian and has family in Haiti. She has not heard anything yet. So send your prayers out!
On a lighter note, I am thinking about going back to Phase I of my high protein diet. I was on Phase one in August 2009 and lost 21 pounds that month. I want to start fresh, so I can see the success I had before. I think it will recharge me. I weighed in the morning at home and the scale said 209.5, which is probably like 211 on the clinic scale. I "offically" weigh in on Saturday, so we will see. Talk to you all later.

BrandNew- that's great girl , i was doing high protein also my first 2 months on Phen and it really worked for me plus the weather was warm enough here to grill chicken outside and i ate salads. I will keep all in prayer for Haiti , such a tragic.

As for me, i was right i got (TOM) and had alot of water retention i think it had alot to do with my birth control pills that i stopped taking. Anyway those 5 pounds went away on the scale . I'm so quick to get upset if i see an increase on the scale , i guess thats what i get for weighing myself everyday.

    Talk to you guys later.

Good Afternoon. Slow start around here today. I am JUST now about to get in my workout.

Val - you arent the only one quick to get upset over the scale. TRUST me! =)

BrandNew - Aww..my prayers will be with her and so many others in Haiti. I was watching Anderson Cooper and it just saddened me sooo much. I went to sleep thinking of it and woke up with it first on my mind. Just soooo tragic. =(
What did your Phase 1 consist of? I need to get this weight loss popping again...I have to..I am so sick of it already.

Okay..off to do ChaLEAN I will check back when I am done...

Val - I so understand. I have been working my butt off and I noticed the tell tell signs so I will be starting soon. It clicked this morning, why the scale wasn't moving.

BrandNew - I hope your co-worker hears something so. This ought to be stressful. I was watching GMA this morning and they showed a family that thought they had rescued their daughter and friends from the hotel, but later found out it wasn't. They were so distraught. We have been praying for everyone involved.

Hey Ladies..so I weighed in this morning and stood the same...I guess its better than a gain.

OMG - I have never cried watching the news like I did today when watching coverage of Haiti...mass graves - dead bodies laying everywhere..someone's mother/father, son/daughter sister/brother...my heart just aches for them. Terrible.

    =(
