    I know water is probably the number one key ingredient in quick and lasting weight loss but for some reason I just have diversion to plain water unless I've been working out. I'm probably addicted to diet soda's which doesn't help. Is it ok to substitute some water intake with Crystal Light since it's mainly flavored water anyway? BTW, I'm strongly thinking about starting Phen again after a long hiatus.

    Have you tried adding lemon to your water?

    Crystal Light contains an artificial sweetener. For some, it can hinder weight loss.

    I love water, so it's the only beverage I drink.

    I drink the Crystal Light packets every day. They are 10 calories per packet (1 packet is supposed to be 2 servings but everyone I know dumps the whole thing in.) So just keep that in mind when you're counting calories. Alexis is right - it is an artificial sweetner. But the ONLY way I get all of my water intake (plus some) is with the Crystal light packets. The way I see it, I would rather get my 64+ oz of water a day than worry about the artificial sweetner. Water is a huge key to weight loss so do what works best for you.

    Intersting ... I use crystal light as well. I also drink the Dasani strawberry waters. For me this is a HUGE improvement!! I know drinking straight water with lemon is always a good thing .. but seeing as how I dont like water, and I dont like lemon ~ lol .. Im stuck!! Tho I will drink just a normal bottled water throughout the day ... Probably 2 Dasani's, 2 waters with Crystal Light, and probably 2 or 3 normal glasses of water.

    Could this put a hinder on my weight loss??

    A couple months ago I asked my SIL who is a Dr if sweetners are that bad or is there one that is better.. She said if your gonna have something with a sweetner Splenda would be best. Now last wk at my Dr's appt we talked and I had asked him his opinion on the sweetner. He also said Splenda would be best. He even said that some sweetners like equal, sweet n low are not good to have when dieting. I don't really drink pop anymore unless it's an occassional sip but my Dr. did say (last wk & months ago)that diet pop isn't that much better than regular.. Because in many cases the ones who drink diet, drink twice as much as the ones who drink regular. He said there was an actual study done on that(about dieting & diet vs non diet pop) and that also the ones who drank regular pop had more weight loss results then those who drank diet because they consumed less pop and were more satisfied when they did drink it.
    When I told my SIL that she agreed with it..

    That is so true Alexis! Water is the key to weight loss and it does help with flushing out your system much faster, which helps with shedding pounds alot quicker.

    The Dasani waters are made with splenda so maybe I should stick more with it and just plain ol fashion water ~ lol. A lot of people here drink the diet green tea and isnt that made with the stuff thats in crystal light and other diet drinks?? Granted green tea is good for you .. but the diet is made of the same stuff isnt it?

    I HATED water. HATED it. Yuck. But when I read that water thread on there, it got me thinking.

    I weaned myself ONTO water. Maybe you can do that too. Just drink the crystal light or whatever IN the water, but make one bottle a day plain. Then slowly increase the plain over the flavored.

    Amazingly enough, you actually get to a point where you tolerate it, and then you crave it! Weird. I would have never believed it. I HATED it.

    I used to hate water too, but a few years ago it became the main thing I drink....I am a bottled water JUNKIE.....

    I do use the crystal lite drink mix with dinner, but I am lucky to even drink 3 ounces of it, I use it to replace the diet sode I used to drink, and that was Diet Rite.

    In the end, DRINK WATER!!!!!!!!

    When I did Weight Watchers a long long long time ago the leader put it this way. If you wouldn't wash your clothes in it then it won't cleanse your body. So do your 8 glasses for hydration and anything over that you can drink whatever you want to. I usually have my 8 in before noon. I drink 2 17oz bottles while I'm walking on the treadmill. Chug another one within an hour after my workout and usually another one about an hour or two after that. There that is my 8! Then I still drink mostly water throughout the rest of the day, but if I want a diet soda, or crystal light or some juice I don't feel bad b/c I have gotten my quota in.

    OH! I also try to drink 2 bottles within an hour before going to bed. Yes I have to get up once in the night to pee, but I really think it helps get all those toxins out of your body while you are sleeping. I have felt so much better since I started that about a week ago.

    And one more thing, I used to hate water too. I can't drink it cold at all. I drink it room temprature and pound it down! Hey if we can drink tequila in college we can surely tolerate chugging some water, not that you drank tequila in college, but just in case you did. *wink*
    The Reason I lose weight. I have to keep up with these guys!

    My Doc once told me ( he had some kindof chemist degree too, or something) that anything other than water, takes water for the body to break it down for digestion. Say, a can of soda for compare would NEED me to drink almost THREE TIMES as much volume in water for me to digest, or it leaves "junk" in you that just sticks to your little intestine "fingers" that process nutrients. It was about 6 years ago, so I am not clear exactly beyond that, but the jyst of it was, if it aint WATER, it aint WATER.
    I dont drink gatorade, pop, or diet anymore, and i mean RARELY, when I used to drink alot of the stuff, I still drink C light, only 100% fruit juices, SFFF latte's, and coffee, and I have truely noticed that the weight stays a little steadier, even when it goes up, (which it does ) but it's been a little less of a struggle since I gave up ALL the soda-

    I drink Crystal Light every now and again because I've found that my kids will drink it and it's gotta be better than kool-aid with two and a half cups of sugar in it. I also like my water room temperature because it's just easier to go down. When I'm out dining, I will get water with lemon (almost half a lemon) and then add a splenda pack to it. That way I keep drinking (hopefully eating less) and when more water is added to my glass, I continue to drink. I've never been a soda drinker, but I may take a gulp or two once every two months or so. I think the only time I can drink a full soda is if it's mixed with liquor.

    I drink alot of water while I'm working (cleaning) but other than that it's diet stuff like Crystal light (pink lemonaide is my fav.) and diet soda. I also drink tea. Iced or hot. Love em both. It's also usually decaf. But, I have noticed that when I don't drink enough water/crystal light I don't feel good. Anyway, I didn't reply to tell you just that.... I wanted to suggest something that worked wonders for me. I DON'T like cold water. For some reason I don't like the way it tastes. I really prefer room temperature water. So that's something for you to consider. Try drinking ice water, cold water, and room temperature water and see which you prefer. That could make all the difference in the amount you drink.
