    Default Home Scales

Hey everyone, I was just wondering what kind of scales you all use at home. I have a digital health o' meter that i bought from Target, i think. The problem is that EVERY single time i get on it, it tells me a different thing. Even if I step off of it, and get right back on. Luckily, I weigh every week at my WW meeting. But I would like an accurate scale at home. Just wondering what brands you all have found to be pretty reliable and where you bought them from. Thanks.

i got SO sick and tired of home scales, we went thru like 5 or 6. they are just junk. finally went on-line and searched for a physicians scale. I ended up getting one for $165.00 including shipping. I know that is alot but when you add up the 5 or 6 scales we literally wasted money on, its probably less. its VERY accurate and I know what I weigh. I may not like what it says but at least I know its telling the truth. some of the folks here have accurate home scales but i've just no luck with those. goodluck.

I have a pretty inexpensive digita scale from Wal Mart. It was probably about $20. My weight is almost the exact same on this scale as it is at the Dr. Only off by 0.2 lb which is nothing at all. I think a good key also is to have the scale on a good level surface and then don't move it. It can mess with the calibration if the scale is moved a lit.

I have the same problem - I can get on, get off, and get right back on and there can be 1-1.5 pound difference. It is very frustrating!

Grab a 40lbs bag of water softener salt or kitty litter, or something else that weighs an exact weight. Put it on the scale and weigh it.

I have the Weight Watchers Scale I got it for like $35 at Target and I like it. It weighs pretty close to the doctor's scale it's off by about half a pound or less. Some of the features on it are: Water Mass, Bone Mass, BMI, and Body Fat percentage, my doctor's office also tells me all of this and I notice it's pretty close to those figures too.

Mine is a digital scale by Healthometer from Walmart. I think I paid less than $25 for it a couple years ago. Mine is 1lb. heavier than the scale @ my docs office.

Home scales are a sore subject with me right now.

Last Monday I weighed myself (299), went to doctor's office 30 min later (296), stopped off at gym on the way home 30 minutes later just to weigh myself on their scale (296), got home and weighed myself again (299).

To me, that indicates pretty conclusively that my scale is off 3 pounds.

My wife thinks doctor scales and gym scales are unreliable.

Thanks for the compliment (heading sweliing as I type). Yes the outside of the box will tell you that it does all of this, the scale itself is clear and then it have a little stainless steel strip where you stand. I think because it's that electromagnetic thing that scans the body or whatever. Anyway for the price it's doing a good job. What's nice is you don't have to figure out if you are in normal, high or low range on anything because it has three colors and each represents normal, high, and low and it will put your figures in whatever category you fall in so you don't have to keep going back to the book to look up the figures.
