Mix equal parts of apple, prune, and grape juice. Microwave until warm and drink. The apple and prune juces are higher in fiber and the combination of apple and grape juice masks the flavor of the prune juice if it is something that you don't like. I don't know why but it works better when it is warm. From what I have heard from patients, it tastes pretty good.
Of course, drink water and incorporate more fiber in your diet. I really love the fiber one bars. They are really good and about 30% of your daily fiber needs. You can also use things like BeneFiber that you can mix into food/drink that have no taste. If you are looking for a stool softener, anything with docusate is good. It doesn't stimulate your GI tract, it just encourages water to enter the gastric lumen and makes stools easier to pass (sorry...a little too clinical!). MiraLax also works pretty much the same way. Both are pretty safe if you use them as directed. I work in pediatrics and both are given to our kids pretty regularly.
Also, if you are taking a multivitamin or an iron supplement with phentermine, it may increase constipation as vitamins and iron supplements are notorious for causing constipation.
