    Unhappy office visit today

    I had my 3 third office visit today and i was really happy i lose 8 pounds, but the little nusrse asst. told me that i need to take a b-12 shot because it help you to lose fat she told me that i was not losing fat according to the scale my fat % was up and my muscle % was down meaning that am losing muscle and not fat kind of got upset don't know why that is happening but didn't help my mood . Help what am i doing wrong maybe am doing to much cardio and not enough weight training

    I would add strength training 2 x a wk. if you haven't built that into your workout, and increase your protein--decrease your carbs a bit if you're not on a low carb diet. Some people swear by doing lots of cardio, while others do less and combine more strength training. I personally like lots of cardio and do strength 3 x a wk, but I haven't had my BF tested since my initial visit. And I do get the B12 shots regularly. Don't get too discouraged, I think it's fairly normal to lose some muscle initially unless you've been diligent about strength training from the get go. You've lost over 33 lbs. and that's a great loss--you should be really proud of yourself!!

    thanks for the words of encourgement and am proud of myself it is just so hard for me with the low carb thing i did that about 4 years and i lose about 80lbs gained must of them back i stop the low carb because i began to get so burned out on things that i really like and couldn't have so now am just trying ww for now to see how that works for me

    I totally understand, I wasn't saying you should go on a low carb diet, I guess I was trying to say by increasing your protein and adding strength training you'll get that muscle back and more. I don't like any diet that restricts entire food groups either, it's not very realistic and you end up feeling deprived.
