Question What to do without an appetite...

The past two days I am seriously FORCING food down me. I can't eat breakfast to save my life, 2 bites and I am shoving it away..... Lunch, I'm not really hungry for either and half way into that, I'm finished.... Dinner is about the same...

Today is the end of my 2nd week on phen... is this normal to still feel this way? I swear last week I was hungrier than I am now? It's all I can do to gag food down right now.... seriously.... I know I should eat breakfast to help with metabolism, and I know I have to eat or my body goes into starvation mode... but what do I do??? I'm not feeling weak from not eating, not feeling any kind of side affects really.. energy levels are decent.... getting in some excercise...

How do the rest of you deal with no appetite and eating to stay healthy ?

    Thanks in Advance....

I was like you, no appetite in the 2nd week. You don't have to force yourself to eat a meal, but you should try eating a few bites of the meal. Yes, you'll feel nauseated...but you want to keep that metabolism stoked up. The nausea and extreme lack of appetite will soon go away--probably in the 3rd/4th week. Keep up the good work, you're doing great.

I would suggest small protein packed meals every 2 hours, I had to get over the same thing you are going through, believe me that many ppl on here would die for the appetite supression, try drinking protein shakes..I love the EAS shake mix, mix it with some milk and its heaven..gives you something to burn off even when your not hungry. Also snacking on nuts, slim jims, beef jerky, cottage cheese, string cheese, protein bars, veggies, or fruit every 2 hours helps as well. Just make sure to give your body a bit of something every few hours so that when your hunger comes back you will know how to control it.

People are saying this will go away but I am in my 2nd month and I am still feeling the same way you are! I have very little appetite and after a small amt of food I start feeling nauseated. I lost 20 lbs in my first month but my big problem at this time is that I don't consistently get enough calories. Unfortunately, eating every 2-3 hours doesn't usually work for me on the days that I work. I am a nurse who works nights and eating during my shift (outside of the 15 minutes I may get to squeeze in for dinner!) is certainly not something I can do. I am just too busy all night and there are rules about where we can eat so I can't snack while charting.

    Good luck!

I am having the same problem. Today ended my first week. I am thinking of buying some ensure. That would give us added calories. I love the appetite suppression! Just freaking me out. I have to MAKE myself eat when before taking phen I had to make myself stop b/c I would eat too much! Takes some getting used to. Drinking lots of water helps me! Good luck and keep up the good work!

I totally agree with Alykat, take advantage of it now, cause it will probably go away,,,, and it will make it that much easier when it does,,,,,,yes, i think fruit like any kind of berries ( get the blueberries/Strawberries at Costco and snack on that thruout the day ), melons, kiwi, watemelon o and they say celery is a negative calorie food,,,,, i keep forgetting to pick some up...anyway, Good LUCK !!!! ..

i'm on week three and by night i can eat a meal.

lol i just drink a ton of water like 2-3 two litters a day. and try to get some kind of calories..

side question for the girls who lost alot so far but i'm at a point where my skin isnt busting at the seams so to speak, but now i can really feel the excess weight i carry. its not round and hard its like mushy and really gross feeling, its really making me hate my body.. its like now its all wiggled loose...

    anyone else feel like that?

thanks to everyone for the suggestions and advice...

I too am drinking a ton of water daily... I bought some almonds to snack on throughout the day, as well as fruit and low fat, low carb yogurt... some veggies... but it's like the day slips by me and when I don't feel hungry, I don't even think to go get something to munch on.... I've started keeping a food journal also, and figured as long as I can get in about 1000 calories or so, I should be ok..... low carbs, watching fat and sodium... I'd think no more than I am eating that the scale would be moving daily... lol but it's not....

I'm not complaining, but I don't want to crash and burn on this either... I'm just taking it one day at a time... it's a live and learn process to see what works and doesn't work... and I know it is different for everyone. I'm not on a diet, I'm on a lifestyle change, a mission.. so to speak.... will keep you all posted... thanks again for the help!

The first few days I experienced the same...so, I would just drink a protein/meal replacement shake...without an appetite and it was just like having a drink.

I felt that way on and off since march. when that starts to happen, i cut my pill in half. if i don't i start to feel like im gong to throw up and i shake like crazy. skip a day or two or just cut in half. also try taking it 2 hours after breakfast. this way you keep your metabolism going. good luck

This morning I actually woke up HUNGRY... I was like omg... My stomach was growling and everything.. so had a small bowl of cereal and took my pill a couple hours after I ate....

Several of you have mentioned protein shakes.... Never been too into them... never tried them... what's good... any certain ones better than the others? What do they taste like ? Thought about getting slim fast shakes, I don't mind those, but maybe the protein ones are better, because of the carbs....

Send me some protein shake suggestions... and tell me what they taste like. lol I'm not sue I can choke one down.. the thought is making my stomach churn....

EAS protein powder chocolate flavor 5lbs 29.98 @ Sam's. I mix mine with water and really to me it tastes great plus I double the amount of scoops to 2 which gives me approx 44grams of protein which is a bit over the amount recommended for a eating but I m pumping hard! I am off phen, but when I was on it I pretty much felt that way all the time that I had to force feed myself.
