    Hey Everyone and welcome! My name is Jennifer and i am a newbie to this site. I created this thread for all of those who have recently started or will soon be starting phen. Perhapes we can use this as a tool to help one another out and set mini goals that can be met each week. Maybey we can even set up a weigh in day for each week. How is Monday?
    This is such an exciting time for all of us!

    4/10/2010 --->204 lbs (I lost 13 lbs in 10 days!)
    4/29/2010 --->201.2 lbs wooo hoo!
    5/4/2010 ---> 197.6 lbs onederland!

    today is my second day on phen. i am honestly a nervous wreck. i have walked down this road so many times. i am tired of doing it. i heard my older son tell one of his friends (when asked if i was gonna participate in the parents vs team baseball game) 'probably not. she doesnt like to have fun.' i see the concern in my husband's eyes when i say my back hurts or i'm so tired. i amso not happy with where i am in my life or where i have been for sometime now. its time for a change. its time for me to find me! i want to accomplish this and keep it off!!!
    i will measure today but not weighing myself until July 22, my follow up at dr.

    Wow you guys have lost ALOT so far.....great job! I am looking foward to seeing results. I just started yesterday.... and of courseno appetite. How many calories a day r u guys averaging right now? I find it difficult to eat 1200 cal per day........i averaging around 800 or so.

    why r u so nervous......have you been on phen before or are you just nervouse about making it trhough the journey? If so .... we all know you can do it. Phen really helps with curbing your appetite and as long as you excercise 3-7 times a week and choose healthy foods to eat you will do it !!!!!!

    I started June 23. I am looking to get some help with a buddy as I have A LOT to lose.
    I am unsure of how many calories I should be eating each day.
    Any help or ideas?

    I think phentermine has definitely helped me not eat as much, but I am not having any problems eating ;-) I have decreased my calories from 2200-2300 calories a day to around 1700 or 1800 calories a day, since I started taking it. I know I could probably lose the weight a little faster if I dropped down to 1200-1500 calories a day, but I think I would be miserable doing so. Once I hit a plateau, I will definitely consider lowering my caloric intake further.

    I have been on phen since June 18th. I have lost 4 pounds so far but I have not been strictly weighing myself because it has been up and down, I think it's water weight right now. We should all measure ourselves instead of going by weight for results. I know that I would like to be 140-145, right now I am 173, but it will be more encouring if we see inches falling off rather than pounds. Muscle weighs more!

    Hey all!! I'm starting tomorrow! I'm nervous as well, but I have to do something! I'm looking at needing to lose half my body weight! This is my last chance because next is going to be surgery and that scares the crap our of me! I'm glad to have a support group! That's what I need more then anything!!! Gonna put my daughter to bed!     hey jennifer this is bonnie, we spoke yesterday..this is my fourth day on phen...and i am feeling good..trying to intake about 1200 calories a day...i do forget to eat sometimes but so far i havent had any issues with low blood sugar.

    Hello everyone...

    I started Phen on June 11th. I am following a low carb/low calorie (1200) diet and going to the gym 4-5 days per week where I do 60 minutes of cardio and some strength training.

    My first week I lost 5 lbs. My second week I did not lose anything. My weigh-in day at the doc is Thursday and I am already showing a 4 lb loss for this week...so I'm hoping that sticks....no clue what happened on week 2...I did nothing different than the first week.

    I am on Phen 37.5 mg once per day with 100 mg of 5-htp.

    Glad to know there are so many others on this same journey...we can do it!!

    Hi Guys! I started May 29th....close enough to June I guess. To date as of Friday during my doctor's appointment I have lost 16 pounds. I will weigh again tomorrow because that is my normal weigh in once a week. I would love to be a part of this group especially since I see a few people that have as much weight to lose as I do!

    Hey guys! I started working out around January. I lost around 10 lbs then I started phen around May 5th for about 1 week stopped because of foot surgery then started again June 8th. Since Jan. I have lost 14 lbs according to my doctor but on my scale and Wii fit I have lost 23 lbs. This sounds like a great plan to have support and set weekly goals!     Hey ladies! At my heaviest I was 205lbs. I was able to lose 10 lbs on my own by eating less and taking some Chinese herb I got from my acupuncture lady. After a while the pill made me crazy, so I stopped (that was about a year ago). In the middle of May I decided it was time to get healthier again, so I started to eat smaller portions and less fatty foods. I was able to lose another 5 lbs that way. My friend told me about Phentermine, so I went to a local weight loss clinic, and they started me on Phendimetrazine on June 2. I took that for a week and lost a good 4 lbs. I didn't like how it made me feel though, so I switched to 10mg Phentermine once a day. I really liked the Phentermine, and lost another 6 lbs. Last week I asked if I could up my dose, so now I'm on 30mg Phentermine once a day. I'm feeling pretty frustrated right now, because I'm only eating fresh veggies, fruits, and lean meats. I've given up all the foods I used to love and replaced them with healthier options. I excercise in some way or another for an hour or more a day. During the weekends it's in the form of cleaning house or salsa dancing at night. During the week I go to the gym and do cardio & yoga. I've found I'm more flexible now, and my clothes are fitting more loosely! It's super exciting to know I'm making these good changes...but I feel like this past week I've been stuck between 178-180! I'm eating twice a day, with a snack between (keeping every meal to about 300-400 calories)...so I'm a about 1000 calories a day. I'm not sure why I've plateaued, but I'm just going to be patient and keep at it. I've lost 16 lbs in the last month, so I guess I shouldn't be feeling too bad! I'm trying different things in an effort to figure out what my body needs to lose weight (more water? more protein? fewer carbs? more calories?) and eventually I'll figure it out.

    Some of my favorite "snacks" now:

    Full Circle Soy Crisps - I like the Cheddar, BBQ, & Ranch flavors (app** 140 cals/serving)

    Breyer's Sugar Free, Double Churn Ice Cream (110 cals/serving)

    Grapes, Cherries, Strawberries, watermelon, or any fruit in season!

    Pirate's Booty & Tings - healthy corn puffs & cheeto type snacks.

    My first goal was to hit 180 by the end of June (yay!!!)...I'd like to be down to 160 by the first day back to school (I'm a teacher) which will be Sept. 10th. That's 20 lbs in 10.5 weeks!

    I look forward to supporting you ladies & hopefully getting some support during these tough "plateau" times!

    I started in June and so far it's going good. I'm actually not eating much at all, I don't know if it's the "right" way to lose but I'm just NOT hungry and when I am I eat only small portions. I have been exercising like crazy lately taking a pole dancing class for fitness (that and losing weight has made me feel MUCH sexier), taking aerobics class, a dance class/water workout, and starting softball! I'm a busy girl lol.

    I began taking phen on June 19th... and in my first week I lost 9 lbs. total... been a bit of a crazy weekend... buffets, out to lunch today with parents, but overall I belive I stuck to a good diet and good food choices.... even eating out.. I swam 3 hours 3 x's last week.... and Saturday I bought a bicycle on a garage sale for a whopping $5.00. I can't wait to start riding, although i may cause a few accidents.. lol A friend of mine started on phen last Monday and she and I plan to start walking this week too. I have not been eating much.... force b'fast down usually.... then for lunch i'm barely hungry.... dinner is the hardest, as I want the full meal deal.. so I eat, and clear the table or get up and do dishes, laundry, something, while the rest of my family finish.

    I also did do measurements and know I have lost , although I have not re-measured, Im doing that once a month. I do believe I have lost several though, as I went shopping for my birthday ( which is July lst ) this past weekend, and bought shorts a size smaller ( 14's ) and my shirts were a size smaller also ( 1X ) Talk about a motivator... I was smiling all night!!! As far as weighing, I began phen on a Friday, so I stick to weighing on Fridays... my week marks.... I do not like to weigh after a weekend, in case I do go out to eat, or whatever... but I am more strict through the week.... so that is what works for me... Everyone else has to decide on what works best for them...

    Anyhow.. good luck to all.... I will try to keep updating as I go... Looking forward to week #2!!!

    Hey everyone ! I read all of you posts and it seems that everyone is doing awesome. Keep up the good work! I have seen that some people would prefer to do measurements on Mondays rather than weight loss....thats a good idea....what ever works best for you guys. So if you would like to weigh in on mondays or do measurements either is great. We all need to keep this up .... i feel that the Mondays weights/measurements will keep us all on target of what we ultimatley want ... HAPPINESS! I also read that some of you are having a hrad time with plataues ..... maybey you are not consuming enough calories. If you goto Myfitnesspal.com you and click on tools and then basal metabolic weight you can figure out how many calories your body uses in a day by just breathing/thinking etc. and from there figure out how many calories you should be consuming. If anyone does not want to weigh in/measure on Mondays just post your results on the day you would prefer. Thanks! and good luck to all. Btw i am sticking to a low carb/low cal 1200 cal diet with 4-6 cardio(60 min) and strength training(10-15 min) per week and i am SOOO SORE! haha

    Hey everyone, I started on JUNE 3 and I have lost 12lbs. WOOOHOOO
    I would have to say that one of the most incredible things about phen is the feeling of being full at the beginning of the meal. Because of that I am making choices about the food I am about to eat in a different way. Since I am full, I tend to order/make things that are lighter or simpler both caloricly and size wise. I havent drank any soda in 4 weeks.
    And although I did not exercise last week the previous days I had 5 days on 2 days off.

    I am thrilled to go to bed a little hungry and feel my stomach churning up my earlier meal, in my mind I feel like I am listen/feeling my body eat away at my fat. Its a great feeling since many nights I would eat leftover dinner around 2am. I havent eaten once after dinner in a month and that is so awesome.

    The other day my bf and I went to his sisters house and had dinner (of course I barely ate but I was soooooooo stuffed) after he was like lets get frozen yogart. I told him that I was too full to eat but would gladly go with him. We got there and I guess he thought that I would cave in or something because he thru a fit when I didnt get anything. I told him that I REFUSE TO EVER EVER EVER EVER EAT AGAIN IF I AM NOT HUNGRY....EVER EVER EVER

    I wonder why all those years I would eat till I was ready to puke then a short time later put more in. I love feeling full all the time. I love not feeling that insane desire to stuff everything and anything into my face......

    SOrry about this long post but I have been getting no support from him and I needed to say that and how proud I am that I said NO.. because I knew i was full. BTW when I told him I lost 12lbs yesterday he said "THATS ALL"??

    hi everyone

    i initially started at the beginning of june but had to stop because of side effects and ended up gaining 2 of my 4 pounds lost in my 2 week off while still dieting...but here's to giving it another go!

    my main issue was mood- it made me feel down in the dumps and not wanting to do anything. i was only taking half a dose but having full side effects XD the extreme when i decided to go off of it was when i busted out crying on the phone with my mom for no reason...talk about random :P

    this time im going to try taking this with 5-HTP and see if that helps with mood

    Hi All!!

    Well...day one has started off interesting. I got up with my husband at 5:20 and walked for a mile. I know that's not much, but since I've gone from nothing to that, I'm kinda proud of myself! I figured if I do it every day that he gets up early, which is usually 3-4 days a week, and then at least one day over the weekend (to equal at least 5 days a week) then I hope that'll help me out! I have no excuse other then laziness!!!

    Great job DVS!!! I'm hoping that I have the same results!!!!!

    I feel kinda loopy today! I'm sure I'll get used to it. I'm drinking lots of water!! I had an apple and chicken for breakfast. My old diet plan I lost 48 pounds on...I'm kinda falling back on that a little bit. Doing what I know worked before and hopefully will work again!!!

    I did actually weigh this morning after my "eating out " weekend... and guess what ?

    I lost another lb. I've lost 10 lbs. now since starting phen June 19th.... guess being cautious at the buffet , avoiding dessert and eating a salad yesterday paid off for me... Hoping to swim this afternoon and walk later this evening....

    My Mini-goal is to drop to 179 by the 4th of July... which is another 2 lbs... we shall see... My initial first mini goal was to be 175 by July 24th when we leave for vacation... I can actually see that happening....

    Cool Started Today!

    Hello everyone! I just started today and am excited. I don't really have much to lose. 25lbs max...I started eating right and working out again last week, so hopefully in combination of the two, I can get to my goal in no-time.

    A year ago today I was 130...so to gain 20lbs in a year is not so good. Granted, I didn't work out as much as I could have- I worked out maybe once a week (as opposed to 4-5xs a wk like I was before..) got depressed, was on effexor, which I think helped with the excessive weight gain..

    Started Phentermine June 1st

    June 1 - weight 278
    June 28 - weight 264.5

    Lost - 13.5 pounds

    Not counting calories - just feeling the desire to eat smaller portions. Drinking lots of water. Exercising randomly (swimming laps, walking the mall, etc.). I'm amazed at how I'm able to resist overeating with Phen...what a wonderful thing it is!

    Red face Hey Girls

    Well today is my 4th day on Phen and I feel a little loopy and weird like I am not all there and that is not a good feeling while I am trying to think at work. I did however get up early this morning (when my husband gets up) to workout, I have never ever done that before in the past because I am lazy and not a morning person at all so I was very proud of myself. I have read from a lot of you that you don't get hungy, I haven't really had that effect. I still get hungry but I think its more in my head like a habit. I have been eating under 1200 calories a day so I hope my body adjusts. I have been getting headaches everyday but I kinda think it's because I am not drinking caffeine anymore, just tons of water. I hope I can stay positive because I really want to do this...I want to know what its like to be thin again.

    Can I join the party?

    I started Phen on June 6. I have lost 16 pounds so far, and I am still going. I can see the dial teetering like it wants to go down another pound. It's like it's hanging off the lower edge of 172. Maybe tomorrow!

    I am being SO lazy about it this month. My calorie intake is great, but for all my good talk I am not exercising at all yet. My excuse is that we do not have air conditioning in this house (we're living in and renovating a 109 year old Victorian) and it's been in the 90s for the longest time! I'd love a cool snap. We are in the mid eighties today, though, so maybe this is a trend. With forgetting to eat sometimes and the heat, I stay exhausted unless I am at work in my air conditioned office. I'd love to have a gym to go to, but I drive 100 miles every day to and from work. Enough excuses? Yeah--basically I just don't feel like exercising yet. I will. I just have to find the right mindset like I did when I finally got the courage to talk to my doctor about Phen.

    Did I mention that I have lost 16 pounds in a little over three weeks?! YAY!

    I'd very much like to join the "June/July Phen Starters"! I started phen on 6/27, weighed 196.8lbs at the doctor's office on 6/26 (not the highest number I've seen, either). At this moment, 6/29, I weigh 190.0lbs!! HOLY CRAP! I'm not sure this is normal, and I don't want to get my hopes up, but I'm so excited! This is the least that I've weighed in 2 years. I'm so happy that I can share my experiences with all of you, and I can read about yours! I feel that I'll get an understanding here that I won't get from my peers. Don't get me wrong, they all support me. However, we share the struggle, and my friends are size 5, beautiful ladies!

    Anyone else start out with a bang like this? Is it short lived? I don't want to let myself down again!

    The fast weightloss can be due to all the water you're drinking as well as actually losing weight! If you're drinking as much water as they tell you to, then you'll lose that first and then start losing actual weight. I did another program where you had to drink at least 100oz of water a day, which is about the same here. I lost like 48 pounds in about 2-3 months...maybe a little longer. Course, the heavier you are, the faster it'll come off, too.

    Hope I didn't burst your bubble...been on this weightloss coaster for far too long!!!

    Tonight I've done really well. I made stirfry for dinner. Eating my snack of string cheese and necterine right now. So yummy!! I think I've drank pretty close to my
    100oz's of water. No headache at all today! I'm just praying that I can SLEEP tonight! I'm beat from being up most of last night with nerves! Gonna get up again at 5:20 with my hubby and walk on the treadmill. It's so sad the whole time I'm on there, I'm thinking "Only ___ more minutes and I can stop" or "Only ___ till I make it to a mile and can stop" I wish I enjoyed it!!! UGH!!!

    Hello everyone! I did my weigh in today and had not lost an ounce since my doctor's appointment on Friday. I have a feeling this could be because TOM came to visit yesterday and ever since I have felt extremely bloated! Maybe I should take a water pill or something? I was also bad and did not exercise today because I had the most terrible cramps!! I do vow that tomorrow I will exercise though....good luck everyone and congrats to all who have done so well!!

    Ok so I started taking the pills on 6/26 so today was my fourth day on them and I have lost 5lbs so far. I had 992 calories today which is really good for me, I am trying to stay under 1200. Although I think my biggest problem is that I am not drinking as much water as I should be, I hate going to the bathroom 25 times a day while I am at work. I did get up early today to workout and I am hoping I can continue to do that but it's really hard because I am NOT a morning person. I went swiming after work today and worked off alot of calories that way. I hope for the best because I don't know what I will do next if this doesn't work.
