LOL, I so understand the "love haze". I gained 8 pounds (yes I know that isn't a huge amt, but it sure felt like it to me) when dating my now ex-b/f. Gained 65 lbs when married to ex husband! I see a pattern here...men=weight gain for me! lol
I too rarely eat out and if I do I don't feel like I have to order something "special" just because I am out...I order something close to healthy by choice now

Exercise does help...so I am told, lol. Personally, I hate it. The phen does help, doesn't it? I hear one can build a tolerance to it though. Did your Dr tell you to stay on it and then off it every so often? I am wondering as mine never said anything...probably figured I would remember from a couple years ago when I tried it.

Well, Im going to try taking my phen after 3 pm to see if it helps. I am so hungry at night and my little guy doesnt go to bed untill like 2 am some days so im up anyways, I bought some advil pm to help with the body aches from working out and ease me to sleep. Sometimes I feel really scared, like what if it doesnt work for me, you know. This is the biggest Iv ever been and but I had gestational diabetes that was out of control my last trimester and man did I pack on some extra baggage. I am working out too and trying really hard. I hope it works. I lost 7 pounds so far, I dont count all 11 pounds as fat, mostly water im sure. Anyway, you guys help me keep me encouraged.![]()
Hey Peeps! I have been on "P' for exactly one month today! I guess I know that cause I see my doc once a month..and refill the script once a month! lol Anyway, I have lost 17lbs so far.. And looking back it was quite easy.. I havent worked out once. lol I had some shitty side effects on week one.. but now I dont even realize I take "P"..wondering if i need to up thee doseage?? I never had a problem w over eating or anything, I mainly got on this stuff to lose the weight from my pregnancy uber fast..lol My doctor had said that people who have a high BMI store energy in the body that will last them 3 weeks!! wow! He said you stomach will make the noise to feed it.. But it goes away in an hour. So, you truly do not need to take in many calories at all. I eat one small lunch a day.. maybe about 400 cal total. And drink only water. Good luck to everyone.. We all have our own methods to this maddness... And I find it interesting what we all will do to lose a few pounds! Gee, just read the side effects of this stuff..lol it should send us all running for the hills! one <3
Dude I hear ya! In my 3rd week on this I decided to take half at like one-ish then the other half around like 5 or so.. I got super sick when i took the whole thing at once.. lol Its easy for me to skip breakfast cause Im so busy w the baby.. Im sure u are too! I had got g diabeties during pregnancy.. I had to be on insilin.. ****ed! You will be fine with this stuff! My lil one hates sleeping too.. Although he falls asleep around 12am..your up another 2 hrs! bless your heart!!! I havent worked out at all... so have faith that even if you skip a day...this stuff will work! smile!

400 calories sounds like way too few for me, but if it works for you and your not malnurished, cool!
Many, many people go off the phen for a few days or a week and then start again as a tolerance can be built up. I can't remember from last time I took it and haven't been on it long enough this time to notice a tolerance yet.
Maybe someone that has been on it a longer period can tell you how they do the phen break.

I have spilt my pipll in half for the entire month that I have been on "P".. I found that it works bettre for me.. lol Maybe cause the second day I took a whole pill and I was about to die. he he eh So, in my third week i decided since I wake up not hungry and am distracted by the baby all morning and I am up super late with him.. I decided to take half around 1-2 and the other half around 4-5.. I have no trouble sleeping... I get to bed around one.. Not cause Im not tired, I like to spend some 'quality" time lol with my BF once the bby gets to sleep! Try it out for a day or two.. it cant hurt! Good luck!!!
I am still trying to figure out how to post to this group. I started on 6/22/09 at 212 lbs. Since it was later in the day the first day I got it I only took 1/2 of the 37.5 mg tab. With this I felt it's effects. Which I was so surprised that I could breathe better. I have no idea if this is normal but I know it is not in my head. I used to have to take Clariton everyday and they only worked half the day. Now I don't have to use them. Well, back on topic...I tried a whole tab on my first full day and I was nauseous all day (maybe a coinsidence) so the next day I tried breaking it in half. I take 1/2 in the morning usually pretty early (5 am) then about 1 or 2 I take the other 1/2 this seems to work great. My first week I lost 6 lbs, 2nd week 6 more lbs, if I can do that every week it will be great!! I know that's expecting too much. Well, sorry so long but I wanted to join in the June/July starters. Well...today wasn't so hot! I didn't eat anything bad for me, but I didn't eat ENOUGH! I'm gonna go see what else I can munch on before bed...or maybe I won't. I'm not hungry and I don't want to just go eat something for the heck of it. lol Oh the wondering mind....LACK OF SLEEP...lol
Tonight should be better because it's HUBBY's night to get up with rugrat if she wakes up!!! WAHOO!! SLEEP!!! My dad called me today and asked if we wanted to go to King's Island! I'm so excited! I don't think Lexie can really do anything, but it'll be fun, nonetheless! She's a noseybutt, anyway, so she can people watch! That'll keep her happy!!!

So I don't know how I am doing exactly....not so good I am thinking. I keep getting headaches and I know its probably because I am not drinking enough water but its so hard because I have been extremly busy at work so I forget to drink my water. By late afternoon I seem to be really hungry and I feel like the pill isn't working anymore (I haven't even been on it for 2 weeks yet). I think I am going to try and split the pill like some of you guys are doing. I weighed myself Sunday morning and I was at a 7lb loss but I got back on the scale today and I was only at 5lbs. I haven't been working out like I should be this week, I just haven't had the energy. I came home from work last night and my lil boy was sick and throwing up so I didn't get much sleep. So all in all I guess today hasn't been a good day and I am pretty bummed out...mayber it's because TOM is a couple of days away.
I hope all of you guys are doing a lot better then I am today!! I hope I can get back on track soon.

Wow i guess I got busy there, haven't posted in 4 days. I started June 4th. The forst wk I lost five, was taking my 37.5 phen half in forenoon, half in early afternoon. Still got bouts of hunger that pasted quickly. I started taking the whole pill before breakfast 3rd week. Over the next 2 weeks I lost another 5. Then it slowed and I didn't see a loss for over a week, and I wasn't sure what was happening. My loss hung at 10 even though I was not eating more. So I upped my exercise, which at that time was 200 reps on my Abcoaster 3-4 days week, and some walking. Over this last weekend I pulled out my bike and rode it 2xday, 30-40 min. Monday no change, then Tues 5 pounds! yippee! and today another 2..wonderval wonderval!! 17 total in a little over 4 weeks. So where's my friends who started with me? Carolee? How you doin?

Jamie...it could also be if you're not eating enough protein! I think Jen told me that and I try to make sure I'm eating enough now and I haven't really had a headache, since! Try that and see if that helps. I usually get my water in, so I'm not sure about that. Good Luck!
Good Job Swtss8!!! What are you eating to be doing so well?? I am not losing much just cause I'm trying to figure out what works well for me and what doesn't! I've lost 7 in the first week, but I'm stuck right now. I know I need to be eating more, but I'm not a cook, so it's hard for me to figure out what to make!!! I don't want to eat frozen meals all the time, and they are loaded with sodium! Any suggestions?
Or anyone else have any suggestions that could help me out?? It's hard with a rugrat at home!

Morning ladiesHope you're having a good week. I can't believe how much water I'm drinking, tons of water. I buy one of those 1.5L of water from 7-11 once a week and drink atleast 1.5-2 bottles a day. I really feel like that's helping me keep the hunger at bay. I'm happy because I'm choosing smarter foods, like instead of eating chips that are left in the work break room, I'm eating my fruits because i want to! How odd for me!!! I love it. Still dropping continuously, but I have had no side effects, except wanting to drinking more water. Heart rate is good, BP is good too.
Off to work today. I work 12 h shifts in the ER and am constantly moving. That's going to be my exercise todayHave a fabulous day!!

I'm not sure if this is up your alley but. . .I throw a chicken breast or fish in the oven with a little seasoning on it and have some sort of veggies. At Sam's and Walmart they have the fish that comes in individual packages so it's not like you are thawing and cooking a whole bunch. I keep fresh veggies in my fridge at all times. I boil baby carrots in low sodium beef broth with a little onion. Tastes sort of like carrots from a roast. I also "saute" some broccoli in a little olive oil, garlic and salt. Tastes really good and fresh. I love fresh sugar snap peas and just steam those. Hopefully you can find what works for you soon.

Today was my 1st week weigh in and I have lost 4.7lbs! Of course, I was hoping for much more, but it is certainly more than I have lost any other time!! I hope it keeps working for me.

Well Christy I can tell you what I eat. I try to be right around 1200 cal, not charted although I should, only because i may not be getting full 1200 in. I stay away form Beef, pork, processed meats, other than deli ham and turkey), bacon etc. I eat salmon, tuna, tilapia, and mostly chicken. I have bags of stir fry, sauté meat, set aside and stirfry the veggies, add a touch of soy. I stay away from white anything..pasta, bread, sugar, no baked goods like cakes cookies etc. I opt for wheat pasta, spaghetti, brown rice, whole wheat bread etc. I haven't been eating frozen meals, but may in a pinch. Fruits and veggies most anytime, not over doing fruits for the natural sugar. I do not eat fast food, except subway, and then generally don't eat all the bread. I would have no problem eating in a restaurant where i could get grilled meat and veggie, my schedule just hasn't put me in that situation much. Sometimes If I'm hungry in between meals I will take a couple slices of deli meat, roll it with lettuce leaf and eat slowly. I think protein is important, not over doing of course. I have considered protein shakes, but so far have not, I would prefer real food so I can live with this when I am off Phen. I will eat mostly frozen/fresh veggies, as canned has so much sodium.
Hope that helps. Keep in mind, I am single so I can cook for myself. But my job is working in a Adult foster care 3 days a week, 24/7, with 12 people to care for, so it is a challenge, which I feel I have overcome well.
Don't forget to get out and walk, bike, whatever you can.

I started doing Callanetics last night. It works SO fast and so well. It's just hard to make myself get into it because it takes about an hour to go through everything. And the dogs absolutely MUST be involved. I swear, they are like cats. Whatever it is that I am doing, they come over and plop down right in the middle of it and say, "Look at MEEEEEE, mommy! "
Sandie, I am staying right around 1200 calories, too. It seems to be working really well.And you are a saint for working in adult foster care. That is a very noble occupation.

So today I am going to try taking a pill and a 1/2 to see how I feel. I took them later in the day to help with my hunger at night time, I hope it works but wont know until I try it. I weighed in today, after my first week on Phen. Some of you may have read my previous posts, and i was stressing about not losing weight. At first, it seemed like nothing was coming off, then it seemed like i was gonna be doomed by constipationbut...i lost 6.8 lbs!!!!!
I am very pleased with my progress for the week. It hasn't been too bad a week. I have had quite a few headaches, but for the most part, i have had too many side effects. Let's hope next week is a good one. I would LOVE to be below 200lbs by my wedding.
SO, now I know. NEVER AGAIN!! I thought I was going to pass out, my eyes felt like they were popping out of my skull...I will just have to deal with the late night munchies, because taking the extra 1/2 was pretty extreme...ugh.... so stupid of me!!![]()

I am currently on a 800 calorie diet. Today I supplemented snacking with carrots and apples- I actually only got 650 calories in...

Hey guys! I started on phentermine 7/8/09. Starting weight of 208. Biggest I have ever been in my life but I did have a baby February 18th of this year. My dr is only going to let me have it two months he said? Unless he is just telling me that so that I eat healthy? So I also started Weight Watchers too. Figured it would do nothing but benefit me to be doing the both at the same time. And I have decided to walk with my son in his stroller everyday (weather cooperating!). So hopefully this will help me get down to my goal which is 130 pounds! I love this site. Nice to see so many others going through this very same thing. But alot of you have been on it more than 2 months. Just curious why my dr doesnt want me on it longer than that! I hear you are to take a break because you get immune?
Hey folks, hope you guys are all having a good one. Nothing super exciting going on today, just working on getting all of my calories in and keep my metabolism up. I'm training for my 1/2 marathon and plain don't want to eat. I do get hungry at sometimes, and eat healthy options. I also make sure I take my multivitamin, and I'm certainly getting in all my water. And then some, geesh, this dry mouth is killer sometimes. And I talk a lot so it's worse lol.
Down 14.2 lbs in 1 week. That's fast, I realize this, but I didn't not eat, that's for sure. I know a lot of the weight loss is water, but I'll take whatever I can get. Hope you guys have a good day, look forward to hearing how your day goes!

Yesterday I completed my first month on phen. I've lost 13 pounds in that month. My dcotor was very surprised and said I was doing a great job. She recommended I do some cardio because I haven't been doing any at all and she gave me another month's prescription. I feel pretty proud of myself too.![]()

Feeling good, eating lowcarb, going to another therapy session this afternoon....this is all about ME!
Feel pressured since I weigh next Monday, not sure why other then I want a loss, I don't feel that I've lost anymore.....
