    Hi there! I started off with a bang and almost a month later it's still coming off fast. I've lost 17 pounds in 24 days. That averages out to something like 1.41 pounds a day! I don't drink a huge amount of water, and I am not exercising yet. I don't think I had much excess water to get rid of because I was already on high blood pressure meds that contain a diuretic. I think my body was just ready to get rid of all this fat!

    I was where you are when I started taking Phen. I felt like it was my last resort and that I was doomed if it didn't work. Thankfully, as you are seeing in yourself, it really does work. Congrats!

    Hello everyone! I am glad to see that everyone is having great success on this. I started Phen on 6-26 after going to my DR on 6-25. 6-25 was by youngests 6th bday and I told my DR that I weigh what I weighed 6 years ago. After I had her I lost all but 10 lbs within 5 months and then the weight just slowly came back on and I have no idea why. I had tried everything from WW, adkins, Powerhouse 5x a week for one hour, SWTBM, counting calories. I was able to loose about 10lbs or so with these but then it would just stop so I would get frusturated and give up and thought that I was just destined to be fat.
    About a year ago a friend of mine got very little what seemed to me overnight and I asked her last week what she did. She told me she went to her DR and got Fastin. My DR said that they dont make that anymore so she put me on this. It sounds alot like the same thing as what my friend was telling me. I am just so thankful that I asked her what she did because this is a miracle to me. I have never eaten so little in my life and do not feel deprived at all!!
    Another thing my DR talked to me about was diet pop. I was drinking a 2liter + of diet MD a day! I thought that I was doing good by drinking diet but she told me that anything with artifical sweetner will prevent you from loosing weight. I used to struggle to drink even one full bottle of water a day but now with Phen that is all that I want - my diet MD does not even taste good anymore, water tastes much better.
    I sarted Phen on 6-26 at 129 and today I am at 220.9. I do have the dry mouth that everyone talks about but it is fine b/c it just makes me drink more water. I have never been one to go to bed early ( midnight or 1am) so this has not changed but I have noticed that I am up around 7-7:30 every morning ready to go. I used to hate to get up in the morning.
    Good luck everyone - lets keep eachother motivated and support one another on this, I know we all will be at our goals before we know it!

    Ok, I am so thrilled there are so many of us who started in June, or close, and have done so well. I started June 4th. So far I have lost 12 and I am very happy with that even though some have lost more. I just feel that it is so much better than where I would be had I not started when I did. Phen helps curb my appetite and I eat lean meats, no pork or beef, lots of veggies and fruits. I walk, but not like I should, so i want to get better at that. I also Have an abcoaster and I do 200 reps 3-4 days a weeks. I measured and I can feel the difference, will probably wait to measure again for a bit. Thanks for all the good ideas and support, this forum really helps alot!

    Hey everyone. I guess I fall in this category sinse I started phent yesterday!..but I think I didn't start very well...I didn't have dinner...I know I was just so busy...anyway...I'm 140...I'm desperately trying to loose 20...when I get to 120 I'll be in my happy place...I just wanna feel good and wear clothes that I can't wear now...I hate my weight. But I'm excited and ill sure post up my success hopefully!!...20 pounds go away!...I heard its hard to loose this weight in short time but I have faith...nothing is impossible right?

    I started on June 8th. So today is officially my 3 weeks. I've lost 12 pounds so far. I actually have to weigh myself again today because of the 3 weeks but I don't want to wake anyone up (it's 7:30 AM).

    As for the water.. I would start drinking this much on a weekend. Because I know where you're coming from. I've always been a person that drinks a lot of fluids. But never pure water. Juice/soda/Kool-Aid etc. So when I started phen I started drinking about 3 liters of water daily. The daily recommended amount is 8 cups.. so about 2 liters. But supposedly you should be drinking more than that if you're overweight. So basically just half your weight in water.

    I say start this on a weekend because the first few days when I started drinking this much water I was going to the bathroom every 15-30 minutes. It was just ridiculous. But I was very thirsty because of the dry mouth so I continued to drink. After about 4 or 5 days, your body gets used to it. I now go to the bathroom a normal amount of times. It lessens over the course of a week. So give that a try.

    Also, as you know, water is very important to weight loss. When your body gets used to having enough water it begins to let go of your water weight. Also, if you don't drink enough, the sodium you consume absorbs what little water you do drink and causes you to start gaining more and more water weight. Weight loss aside, water has helped me feel less sluggish, made my face clear up considerably, made my skin feels much nicer, and has curbed my cravings for sweets. Give water a chance.

    I feel very inspired reading through these posts. I have now been on Phentermine for 6 days and am going to weigh in on Friday morning.

    Do I think I lost anything? I am not sure. I have been following South Beach and have worked out everyday but Sunday (cardio everyday Zumba class and or elliptical trainer and toming with light weights or pilates and yoga once to stretch it all out) and
    have been following South Beach.

    My fiancee told me my stomach looked really good on Sunday (I lose quickly in my waist) and a girl at the gym last night said my face looked thinner (other place I lose quickly). So I absolutely have my fingers crossed that something came off. I just want some internal golas met to keep me motivated!

    I started taking Phen for the first time- 2 weeks ago today. Im at about 8-9lbs lost- but I think its finally TOM now. (first time ive ever been late- guess its the pills) Eating 1200 or less cal a day (per my Dr) and trying to get to the gym 3x a week. My Dr will only give me 30days of phen...so Im taking 1/2 pills right now to stretch it out another month or so. Glad its working for everyone.

    Thank you so much for this! After reading everything you have said it all makes sense. I have never been the one to drink a lot of water and I think that is one of my biggest problems! My face has been breaking out really bad for the last year and my skin has been very dry, I also put on about 10 lbs in the last year...maybe it's all due to the lack of water. I am going to drink water like crazy now, I just have to remind myself because I get so busy at work that I forget.

    I love the fact that we all started around the same time!!

    THANK YOU FOR ALL OF YOUR SUPPORT!!! Everytime I get on this website I get more motivated!

    Hope it's ok for me to jump in hear and join you. I just went to the dr. today and I will take my first dose in the morning. I am hoping this goes well.

    I took Adipex about 5 years ago and lost 50 pounds, but only kept it off for about a year and then the stress of life let it pile back on. I had not really changed my eating habits and then the phen just stopped working. I then tried another med from my dr. about 2 years ago, but I had absolutely no success and I just gave up. So now I am back at it again after gaining and losing over and over weighing 211 pounds today. YIKES! I would like to lose as much as possible before school starts back Aug. 10th (I'm a teacher), but I also want to do it the safe & healthy way.

    Everyone sounds so encouraging on here! I can't wait to get started tomorrow!

    Happy July 1st everyone! Where did this year go?? anyways...

    I started Monday at 150 and now...147!
    I've been doing low carb except for oatmeal before my workouts, and the 3 Sam Adams I had last night due to some very sudden changes to our vacation plans...but I'm happy with the results!

    Side effect so far is: Dry MOUTH!
    So I drink a lot of water and chew gum

    Good Morning All!!

    I'm getting a little upset cause I'm not losing much! I'm not sure if it's because I'm not eating much because I'm just not hungry or what the deal is. Last night, I did want pickles. So I had three pickles. But that's all I ate for dinner! I had a SEVERE headache and ended up going to bed about 8:45. I slept off and on all night, tho!!! I'm drinking TONS of water! Yesterday, I ate an apple for breakfast, had a salad with eggs, tomato, and fat free dressing, 80 cal yogurt, ate a necterine on the way home from work and then the pickles last night...I'm guessing I need to eat more protein! UGH....I need to go buy some more chicken!

    Anyway, just needed to vent! Sorry I didn't check in yesterday, but was swamped at work!

    Hey all! Sorry I haven't been here for a few days. Trying to hide the help from the hubby. He doesn't understand my problems with food or my weight. He is 130 and a solid mass of muscle. I know he sounds really small, and he is. He doesn't like food, and actually thinks eating is a waste of his time!
    I have begun my workouts and seem to be doing good so far. I use my gazelle and am able to average 3 miles in 40 minutes. Then I do some ab work and free weights. I am so sore. Which really does feel good. It lets me know I am alive!
    I am really anxious to weigh in but don't even own a scale anymore! I have always been the type to snoop, so I don't know if I will make it to my doctors appointment. Although it is only 21 days away now!
    As far as my water intake, I think its good. I have averaged around 5 pints daily. And my caloric intake is really good. We have alot of fresh veggies available now and I have always been a big salad eater. I snack on cucumbers and fruit. And have eaten salad for lunch and supper. Adding a small portion of whatever meat I cooked for family. Keeping a food journal really helps too! Like last night, I added up my calories and realized I had a few to spare so my snack was 8 frosted mini wheats. It was like a treat!

    Hey everyone, I started Phen on June 29th. Today is day 3 and I am feeling good. I have been drinking water like crazy! I am finding it hard to eat enough calories. The first day I ate 845 and yesterday I had 1045. I know eating lower than 1200 can actually stop weight loss as your body can go in starvation mode, so I am trying to eat a bit more today. I have 3 dogs at home (one is under 2 years of age) so I always have a workout partner. Yesterday I took all three for a mile walk and then came back and dropped off the two older ones and took the puppy for a bike ride for another mile. Not a lot of distance but I need to start somewhere. I have lost three lbs since Monday, but I am sure it is due to the water, but it still feels good. I am going to measure myself tonight and plan to only do that once a month, but I will post my Monday weigh-ins here. I go to see the Dr. for a follow up on July 14 and hope to have lost 10 lbs. I also hope he is willing to refill my script as I only have it for 1 month right now. I would like to stay on this for at least 2 months to really get me going and engrain these habits. I have read it takes 4 - 6 weeks to make or break a habit, so 2 months on Phen would be good.

    Congragulations to all who have lost and keep up the good work! I am looking forward to sharing my journey and hearing the inspiration of others.

    In my opinion, you aren't eating nearly enough and you are eating a lot of sugar. Your body probably thinks it is starving. When that happens, your loss will slow down a lot. Also, be really careful about anything labeled as fat free. Fat free is generally packed full of sugar and chemicals. Fat is a flavor carrier, so they add sugar to fat free stuff to enhance the taste. They add chemicals to enhance the texture. Guaranteed if I eat the fat free version of something that would ordinarily have fat, I won't lose an ounce. Again, this is just my opinion, but you might be sensitive to sugars / carbs. With all the fruit and fat free stuff you are eating, your body might be signaling you that a lower carb/sugar plan with normal fat would work better for you.


    I am hesitant to say that I think I have lost another pound! Yesterday, I was at 171. This morning, it's was almost down to 170 before I went to pee. I'll step on the scale again tomorrow to see if I am right. If so, I have lost 18 pounds in 25 days and I only have 9 more to go to my intermediate goal!! WoOt!

    Thank you Carolee!!! I know that eating more chicken did me well last time! And more protein! I think you're right, tho! I think I must be sensative to the carbs and sugar! ****s, tho...lol. I just hated that lifestyle when I did it before cause it was so strict! But I guess I'll have to do it again! Thanks for the response!!!

    Oh, honey, I know exactly what you mean. Low carb makes the fat just fall off me. But I also sometimes get leg cramps, headaches, I stay exhausted and I am generally miserable when it comes to food because I am not a "meat" person. I get to the point where if I have to eat one more piece of meat I will scream. I am not doing low carb right now. But I might try to again once my loss slows down. If nothing else, it might be a really good way to kick-start me when I hit my first plateau.

    Unhappy June Phentermine Starter

    Hi-my name is Shawna. I started Phenermine 37.5 on June 19. It's been 12 days (10 days on Phentermine and 2 days off Phentermine) since I started it and I've lost 10 pounds. My dr had me titrate off of my Zoloft (antidepressant) before I could get on it. I did great the first week except for dry mouth and having to force myself to eat OR drink. But starting this past Friday my energy level has gotten so low. I have NO energy and NO stamina. I'm always exhausted. I've become a nervous wreck and have been having anxiety and panic attacks. I'm crying a lot. I'm yelling at my 10 y/o twin boys a lot. I've lost all patience with my 9 month old daughter. Anytime she cries I'm all stressed out. I think she knows I'm keyed up so she cries more. I just don't know what to do. I want to lose 50-60 more pounds but I just don't know if I'll be able to take Phentermine any longer if I can't get out of this funk. Today I took half a pill before breakfast and half a pill before lunch in hopes that it will give me more energy.

    Hey everyone. I am new to the website and to Phen. I took my first pill today. I got up this morning about 6:30, took my pill and went for my usual 3.5 mile walk. Usually by the end of the walk, i'm tired. Today, i wanted to keep going. I don't know if the Phen had actaully kicked in, or if it was a mental thing. Oh well. I'm getting married in September, and I would love to get as much weight off as i can by then. Hopefully, the Phen will work for me, and get me below 200 by the BIG DAY!

    Hi everyone!
    I too just started phen again......for about the third time...lol.
    I tried it way back when it was phen-fen...that combo worked great! Of course I was many years younger and worked out a lot. Years later and I am starting it again. I was surprised that my Dr. wrote the script with no problem...wwhhheeewww! I have heard of a lot of Dr.'s not prescribing it anymore.

    For the first couple days I had a bit more energy, but that has returned to normal now. The mood swings though have not. Hopefully that too will stabilize. Anyway, I started on it last week as I foun d the bottle from last time with a few still in it. Just picked up the new bottle of 37.5 mg. with a qty of 100.

    Does anyone cut them in half and take one in morning and one a bit later in the day? (mine are a white caplet with blue specks, not capsules)

    I know I need to drink water, which I detest. I also eat mostly frozen dinners. Easy to prepare and easy to count calories. I usually buy Lean Cusine or Marie Calanders...the MC are not "diet" but still resonable caloric intake and I feel as if I have eaten real food. I eat about 1000 calories a day, give or take. I also use Alli with almost every meal.

    What is working for you guys?

    Change doctors. Phen and Zoloft are absolutely compatible with each other and are quite often prescribed together....in fact, they do it so often that doctors refer to it as Phenzo.

    You shouldn't have to make that choice.

    Thanks for your advice. Several people have told me that but I don't know of any other doctors in my area in Arkansas that I could go to that would prescribe both.

    Hello I started June 22, I have not weighed since my visit I was a whopping 253, my goal is 180. Im afraid to get on the scale, I would be crushed if I hadnt lost any weight, plus its TOM. But I can tell a slight difference in my clothes, either that or its wishful thinking. But I plan on buying a top of the line scale so that I can keep up with my progress.     Hi All!!

    Well...I know what we talked about this morning, but I had to eat what I had here..lol. I ate a necterine for breakfast this morning, I had a healthy choice meal, yogurt, and cheese stick for lunch and not sure what I'm having for dinner. It's so frustrating cause I don't know WHAT to eat, ya know?!??! Anyone have any meals they love making that can help me out????

    Default Back from a 2 day vaca

    Hey Everyone..... i read all you posts since last time i have posted. You all seem to be doing AWESOME! GOOD JOB! I have been away for 2 days .... went to Hershey park in PA WITHT HE FAMILY......unfortunatley there were only very poor food choices available and due to the CRAP i ate i averaged 2,500 for 2 days...... I feel like i really messed up since i am on a low carb diet and rather eating low carbs i ate pizza,bread,muffins etc. BUT now i am BACK!! I am going to eat 600 cal per day for 3 days to make up for my lack of effort the past 2 days. Hopefully that will get me back on track. Has anyone else went on vaca and had a splurge ? If so, what have u done to counteract your bad eating ? any advice would be appreciated thanks! haha it feels horribble afterward.

    I see that ALOT of new people have joined in the past 2 days. WELCOME! Alot of u guys have starte phen on the 26th/27th i too starte don the 27th. The weigh ins are usually on Mondays. I am going to weigh in on Saturday(7 days since i started phen) and then continue to weigh in on Mondays.
    hopefully i will still lose.

    Default Starting Tomorrow

    Hi!! I am starting phen tomorrow. I'm so excited, I went to Dr. today and will pick up script in the morn. This is my 2nd go around with it, I took it about 3yrs ago and lost 20lbs in 2 mos, I've gained back 12 in the last yr and have been having the hardest time getting it off. I work out 4 times a week and eat as healthy as I can?? Hopefully it will boost my metabolism and help I know I don't have that much to lose but it's just that little extra that is stuck!!

    I just started Phentermine on 6/20/09. My start weight was 274.8 I finally got up the courage to weigh myself yesterday and found I have already lost 16lbs! I am trying to eat aroud 1200 calories a day and am working out (and actually ENJOYING it) 3-4 times a week. My 1 month checkup is on 7/17/09, can anyone tell me if the Dr. will up my dose? I am currently only taking 18.75 mg once a day.

    Hi Tacomagal!! I would suggest keeping it as low as you can until you reach a plateau, then upping it. Your body will get used to it and it won't work as well. If you keep losing weight while using the lower mg's then that's awesome :-)

    Good morning Sunshines!!!

    I'm so happy that it's Thurs cause I'm OFF tomorrow!!! I love haveing a Government job!!! LOl

    Yesterday went better. I don't think I still ate enough, but I'll get there. I think we're going to Mexican for lunch today. Does anyone have a suggestion on what I should/can get?? I was thinking of the fajita salad. It comes in the big taco shell...I just won't eat the shell. It has chicken/peppers/onions/tomatoes/lettace of course. Surely I can eat that, right??? My husband and I are planning on going out for dinner tonight, too. We have an eye appt at 6:15 and he gets off at 5. So I'm picking up rugrat and heading over there. I'm not sure where we're going yet, tho. I'm sure I can find something to eat! I've been craving STEAK...lol.

    Anyway, just wanted to check in. Hope you all are doing well!!!

    WOW!! I havent been on in a few days (out of town yesterday) and it sounds like everyone is doing great!!

    PoisonIvy - YOur headaches might be because you are not eating enough just like someone else suggested try eating more protein. I can not imagine a life without carbs but I know that protein will make you fuller longer. Try a peice of toast with peanut butter on it or an apple with some PB on it. Also, beware of those Healthy Choice, WW meals, etc. because they are loaded with sodium. I used to buy them also but after a while I actually started to read the caloric intake for them and I really think that they have alot of calories for what you are getting, there is really not much in them. Yes I think that they are better than the other boxed foods but just be careful when consuming these things. Also, when I was at my Dr appt. she asked me how much pop I was drinking. I had no idea that drinking DIET pop could hurt my weight loss but she told me that there was a study done that anything that has any kind of artifical sweetner in it can prevent you from loosing weight. I was completely surprised by this. So be careful how much SF or FF foods you are eating that has an artifical sweetner in it. Hope this helps you

    Jen- I also used to hate to drink water, I was a complete diet mountain dew addict but surprisingly after taking this med that was all that I wanted. My husband and I play BlackJack on the weekends, I started taking this med last friday and when we went to the casino all I drank was water. This is funny considering I usually would drink washington apple shots (4-5) along with diet pepsi, but that night all I wanted was water (same thing happened the next night). Because my mouth was SO dry water was the only thing that would help it, and also chewing gum.

    I enjoy reading everyones posts and you all are inspiring me that I can do this.

    Hi, I started taking Phen on June 30. I too am having trouble eating the 1200 calories but my doctor says it is imperative that I do or my body may go into starvation mode and then I won't lose any weight. I know my body well and the doctor is right. I force myself to eat breakfast ususally averaging around 300 calories. I keep track of everything I eat on sparks people.com. Awesome sight. I took my scale and put it away. I'm always jumping on and off that dang thing and fear I'll get depressed if I haven't lost any weight so far.

    I went back to the doctor today. It's been 3 weeks (she's not in town next week). I have lost 7 pounds. I am happy about that. I was already exercising (for years) and had fairly good eating habits prior to going on phen. So, losing this amount of weight is a big feat for me. I just hope I can keep it up!

    Hello fellow June/July starters...!

    When I first posted on this thread I had just finished my second week without a loss. Well I just weighed in for week three and I lost 3 lbs. So that comes out to a total of 8 lbs in three weeks for me. Since I don't have very much to lose, I count that as a good thing.

    Sounds like everyone is doing well - hooray for us!!
