Default a little help please
Hello all. THis is my first post where I am actually telling you my situation. I have asked questions before but mainly I just read the posts ALL day long. I also started Phen on Sept 4th . I have lost 11 pounds since then. I can tell you that I run 5 days a week. Usually between 3 and 3.5 miles. I just stpeed it up a bit and do the 1 minute jogging and 1 minute sprinting for 35-45 mins I do not write down what I eat and honestly dont count the calories either. I just try and eat healthy choices. I feel like I am already in a rut. I know that counting calories would help me. I just dont know where to begin. It just seems like a lot of work to figure out how many calories go in every day. Is this what I should be doing?? Please help. I am taking 37.5 mg of Phentermine once a day. I just changed when I was taking it. I am now taking it 1 hr before breakfast. So basically as soon as I wake up. I think that may be helping. Any suggestions? What exactly does Phentermine do other than curve your appetite?

Well I can tell you counting calories would help a lot but it does not have to be difficult, try going to Fitday.com, all you do is type in the food you eat and it calulates the average calories, fat, proteins, etc, that you eat for u. Then it shows you percentages and totals. It also shows you graphs and charts of how much you eat vs how much you burn etc. This will help you keep track of everything and its very simple. I was taking the phen 2 hours after breakfastand started taking it in the morning and felt completely different as well as dropping a few lbs within those next few days. You seem to be doing well with the exercise as well as the weight loss. 11 lbs is great! Keep up the good work!

Thank you alykat for your advice. Reading your post earlier this week is what convincd me to switch the time that I take my Phen. For some reason I feel like it lasts longer now. Doesnt make sense because I am taking it earlier in teh day! Oh well I guess whatever works works!

Welcome! You should be very proud of 11 lbs. gone in 1 month!

I take my 37.5 in the AM as well, 1 hour before breakfast (as soon as I wake up).

This is my 3rd month on Phen and I exercise 4-5 days per week for 1 hour or more a day (sometimes not all at once, it's all cumulative!)

I keep a spreadsheet to count calories and log my daily weight in Excel. I know I will have to do this for the rest of my life even after I get off the Phen. I tried for years to just "guesstimate" it, but obviously that wasn't working!

I agree with Aly (I usually do LOL); a site like FitDay or something similar to help you log calories (even to ballpark it) would probably be helpful. Other things to help get you out of feeling like you are in a rut may be to shake up your exercise routine a bit.

I bought a Step Aerobics DVD and Step, and some preschool Yoga and workout DVD's to do with my 4 year old. She LOVES them and then we get to exercise together.

Default good job!
exactly 11lbs is awesome so be proud. FItday is new to me havent used it yet but looks interesting. Counting Calories isnt hard at all. The pain is the serving size that the calories are for. but once you get the hang of measuring you can just eyeball it after awhile because you know ruffley how much it is. And you will be amazed how much more you will lose. Espically since you work out so much. I also watch my carbs only because if your eating 1000-1500 calories a day you shouldnt be having as many carbs as a regular 2000-2200 calorie day. I personally do 300-500 calories a day but there are good carbs and bad i have a pear which is 30 i think so i dont count that i basically watch my bad carbs like when iam hungy in between meals i will eat a 100calorie snack or cheese itz something like that i will count those and know i can only have 20 or 25 bad carbs a day and still lose weight. Good luck it just takes time but its really not as complicated as people think.

I work so hard for them! They are my inspiration

Losing 11 pounds is good and taking it before breakfast is good too. I count my calories just so I can have a ball park number of where I am by dinner time and have to adjust my intake. You should look into it because you could be consuming more than you think you are.

Start 3/27/08 234
9/5/08 199!! Onederland finally!!
11/20/08 195

I really like the site "livestrong.com" that Lance Armstrong owns. It has loads of exercise and nutrition tips, plus "the daily plate". The "daily plate" lets you track what your eating in a very simple format, plus track you exercise and the calories it burns. It also calculates the caloric intake you need to loose 2 pounds per week, and knows the difference between good calories and bad. It then constantly updates you about where you are for the day, and where you need to be. I know if I am under calories, I need to eat more, and if I've gone over then I need to get moving with some exercise of some sort. The site also has a place to journal/blog and educate yourself on nutrition for the long haul. Good Luck on your journey! -Wendi
