Default One day off Phentermine and I ate like a pig. What now??
I have been on this medication for 3 months and have lost around 40lbs. Recently it just got to where it seemed like it didnt work anymore. I had hit a plateau and was just not losing at all., So I took some advice from the website and decided to not take it for 2 weeks or a month and see what happened. Today was the first day without it and I was starved to death all day long. I feel like I ate more today than I had for the last 3 months put together. I really hate myself right now. I dont know what to do from here. I know I cant take the Phen forever, and it got to where it wasnt helping that much anyway, but jeez, at this rate I am going to put every lb back on. Has anyone else been thru this? Does anyone have any suggestions?? Thanks in advance

Well, today is my first day without taking phen. I have 25 days worth left in my bottle and have been taking a 1/2 for a week, but decided to try it alone today. So, I was SO tired I thought I would fall asleep in my lunch, but I made another cup of "joe" and went on my way (cleaning house). I think that its a mind over matter thing and I think b/c you knew you hadn't taken it, you were bound to feel like you were missing something. What you need to do is realize that Phen is just a matter of "help" along the way and it is "YOU" who is losing the weight. Yes, we get cravings, but you can't rely on a pill to have the courage to say "NO". You need to be strong and do this for you. I have three growing buys (4, if you count my husband) and I have continued to buy them crap, b/c they don't have issues with weight and its their little pleasure. Sure, I could go into my pantry everytime I have a craving, but who am I hurting? Its all about willpower. Phen doesn't take that away. You have to be the one that wants this bad enough to stay away from the foods that got you to this weight. Its all up to you. So, that being said, I am sure if you really focus on the prize at the end ( a hot sexy body) you will succeed!! Good luck !

I stayed off of it for 2 weeks...I didn't pig out much but I really had to control myself...I gained back 5 pounds and went back on the phen and in the first few days I lost that 5 plus 2 more....and have lost 3 this past week...so getting off of it will jump start you again when you go back on it...but you are gonna have to control yourself with the eating...don't go out to eat and only keep healthy non fatting food in the house...I know it's so very hard but you can do it...believe in yourself...I don't know you from Adam but I believe you can do this if you really want this bad enough...

Don't beat yourself up for just one day, today is another day. If you are hungry, you need to eat. Just make sure you are not eating high calorie foods inbetween your meals. Try drinking a big glass of water before you eat, or eating a salad before your meal, and eating filling snacks with protein to curb your appetite.

I am a late night snacker, I have learned to have a cup of tea or non-fat milk instead. I am perfectly satisfied then. I also keep cut up veggies in the frig, I have a 15 year old with a weight issue and have been really trying not to buy the junk he an hubby (who has a small beerkeg, but no weight issue) love so much. I have tons of willpower, but I also love the junk!

Oh Glenna, don't get me worng, I love me some junk food too. The choc. chip cookies, Oreo cookies, dounut sticks ect... drive me crazy. But....... I am not going to ask my boys to quit cold turkey like mom, just b/c I can't handle it. I want them to know that healthy eating is a positive, but that once in a while (they have dessert night on Mon and Fridays) its ok to indulge. On the other hand, I am so for indulging myself, once in awhile as to not feel deprived. Just last night as I gave my boys ice-cream (it was Monday after all) with choc. syrup and whip cream, I made myself a TBSP of the same and LOVED every minute of it as I ate it. One day of eating "bad" is not going to make or break you, but it is so easy for us phensters to let that one day turn into another and then another.... So, I'm just giving my opinion on what works for me.
Goal- 135 by Christmas but would love 130

I have been on Phen since Apr 11th and I am in the weaning off stage.. I have been taking in less since
Sept 1st.. I am now down to 1/4 of a pill.. I dont find my self wanting to pig out.. yet. And I hope that dont
happen. I have heard that when the Phen gets out of your system. u get really hungry.but I am gonna fight it..
I am going to give myself a 3 lb leadway. If i ever get back up to 148. I am going back on the 1200 calories a day again.. on my own.. Let me hear from some old Phensters. that has went off the Phen..

I"m off of phen and holding my own.....I'm not losing weight, i'm still not at goal but I'm not having this horrific gain like I had imagined that I would. I am more diligent now about what I eat and Iknow exercise is NOT an option.....especially now that phen isn't giving me that extra metabolism boost.........it stinx but this is real life. Maybe that initial hunger you feel now will subside, or like someone said it is a mental thing. Are you PMS? Because I know the few days before my period I will eat anything not nailed down, it was hard on those days even with phen. Give it some more time before you go back on......goodl uck.

Yeah this is going to be really hard but I agree with everyones advice up above. I am skipping it for a few days so that I can boost myself and I am doing well so far, I believe its a mind over matter thing as well. remember to make the right choices and exercise, you might have to pick it up when your off of phen. I am doing well so far, a bit tired but thats to be expected, I am going to carry on as if I had phen in the morning, I know I will probably have some crvings but I plan to fight them off with some green tea, water, veggies, fruits. Try and pick up the right things, If you want chocolate have a fiber one bar, protein bar, or weight watchers ice cream..substitutions and moderation work for me. Good luck!
