I am sitting on the fence here. There are people out there who NEED phen and then get it and want the pill to be 'magic'. Then there are people who are only 25 lbs overweight and are TRYING to lose the weight and just can't. I don't have a problem with them having it. I would rather THEY have it than the OBESE person who is expecting it to be a magical pill.
Sure there are people who abuse it, but that is with everything. That's like someone coming on here and posting "If you are 250lbs and eating a cheeseburger,it's gonna make you fatter?" WELL DUH!! But Most people who are overweight abuse food. Does that make it ok? Should they take food away from fat people because they shouldn't have it? Isn't it thier choice what they do to lose or gain weight?? Just like it's your choice to lose with a pill?
BUT, the abuse is what will make it harder to get too. So, hence the reason I sit on the fence.
Yes, there should be some regulation, yes this person who is underweight should not be taking it but if someone wants to lose 10lbs and CAN'T, no matter how hard they try then I don't have a problem with it personally...I'm just thankful that I CAN get it and that I have a Dr. that isn't willing to prescribe it to someone who doesn't need it and that he gave me more instruction than 'excerisize more and eat less'.
K, my .02. I'm ready for change.
