Question Calories?? How much are you eating?
I started my phen on friday 8/22... i was bad and i weighed myself today and shockingly I was only down 1lb!!!! I have been drinking tons of water... 30 min of cardio everyday with a few situps and pushups. My calories have been anywhere from 1200 - 1700. Is this too much?? I figured for a 280lb girl who is 5'10" this was pretty good.

So what is everyone else eating? How many calories? or whats a typical day for you?

I went to the doc on aug.25 and he told me to follow a 1200 calorie diet to start and as my weight went down I could go up in calories. I am 5'4 and 250 don't know if this helps but good luck!

I just started Phen. My doc instructed me to eat no more than 1500 calories/day. That seemed kind of low to me (I'm a guy) but I'll do my best to meet that. He also warned me not to be a slave to the scale to avoid disappointments. My guess is our weight will come off in bits like it went on, sometimes a pound a week, sometimes five or six. Guess we just keep at it, huh?

I started Phen a little over 5 weeks ago and I was doing about 1000 calories a day. I dropped 20 lbs the first month. But now, after some reading, and seeing that the weight loss is slowing down, I am learning that isnt enough calories for me. I think my body has gone into starvation mode and it wont let go of the fat. So, I know as soon as I increase it to 1200-1400 it will drop again. You have to keep an eye on how your body handles the calories. I hadnt lost anything in days and I had only lost .5 lb this week, which was aggravating for me. So, yesterday and today I have eaten a little more, and I will see what the scale tells me over the next few days.

This pill has been amazing though, I never thought I could stay motivated so long, so we just keep on pushin!!!

Yes... We will keep at it!! I am not givin up this time for sure!!! I will try not to be a scale wh*re anymore..lol!

Wow.. 100 cals a day! That is great you were able to do that. You might be right... maybe you do need more or something. Good Job on the weight loss so far.. thats great! I think I am gonna try to cut mine down to no more than 1200 or so I think!! Lets see what happens

I think, well I hope its because I have just started Phen, but I have no desire to eat at all. I think I have been averaging less then 500 calories a day. I know thats bad, but the thought of food sounds horrible!! LOL This is new for me, not wanting to eat!!!!! From what I have read on the posts, as soon as I start to get use to Phen, I will be able to eat a bit more.

I feel the same thing about not wanting to really eat that much, I was just eating like that because I thought I was supposed to.. you read all this stuff about how really low cals can make your body go into starvation mode and it like eats your muscles.. lol..lol.. or whatever it says..lol! I'm gonna try to cut back and only eat when I am hungry and when I think I should, like before I workout or something. I guess I get caught up in the rhythm of the day:

7:30am start work, take pill
8:30 eat breakfast
10:30 eat snack
12:15 lunch time at work.. eat
3:00 snack
4:30 get home from work, eat snack before workout
7:00 eat dinner

LOL..thats weird, I just realized that I just go through the motions of the day because that is what my mind and body have been trained to do.. workin this job for so many years.. i guess i got into some habits I didn't realize..LOL.. thanks for your help!!

I know exactly what you mean, I see it is 6 PM, I should be eating now, right? But, I am not hungry. Its weird.
I am trying to get to my first mini-goal, I have 4 pounds to go and less than 2 weeks to get there. I have been stuck in a plateau for awhile, so hopefully I will see that scale move soon. I am a total scale wh*re, I have to weigh myself every day before I get in the shower. People keep telling me not to, but it keeps me motivated, so phooey on them!

You will definitely want to eat more calories. I did the exact same thing, ate very light, very healthy, but hardly at all. You will lose it fast in the beginning, but then it will slow down immensely. I lost 9 lbs my first week, by the 3rd week I had only lost 2-3 lbs. Because I wasnt eating enough calories. Your body will need the boost, I have figured if I kick up the calories every 4-5 days for 1-2 meals each day, I will lose weight now. I am in my 2nd month now, its a bummer that the weight is coming off slower, but I dont feel as guilty about losing it so fast now. Keep up the great work, its exciting, isnt it?

I don't keep track anymore of how many cals in a day...I keep track of how many cals I burn in a day instead. I usually don't eat much during the day anyway...yesterday I ate 2 bowls of cereal w/milk and 4 boneless pork ribs and some choc. chip cookie dough...drank 80oz of iced tea(hate plain water)/walked 1 mile/did 400 crunches plus cleaning house.

I eat less than 1000 cals a day... that is my plan from the clinic, but I didn't eat much more than that before so it was easy. I might get 700-800 cals, but I eat several times a day lean protein, veggies, shakes, etc... when you cut out the bad carbs and fat, it's EASY to keep your calories low... that is where the calories are. I don't count anymore because I know I never reach my calorie limit... I eat when I'm hungry and if I go a certain number of hours, I'll drink a shake just to keep my metabolism going. If you eat low calorie foods, you can eat more during the day... My BMR was very low because of various issues, so I had to go down pretty low in order to lose weight. My blood pressure is monitored regularly as well as bloodwork. I take liquid vitamins and get plenty of lean protein... my body is thanking me for it in return by giving me much more lean muscle and stripping off the nasty fat. Everyone has to find something that works for them.. for me, this is what works, this i
