It helped me and I just BYOB. I often take my own little cooler with 'diet beer' on the top to ensure that nobody drinks it. LMAO I am not a fan of the Michelob Ultra (it tastes like puretee ***** to me.) But the Aspen Edge wasn't bad at all. I haven't tried any of the rest but maybe you can find them in your neck of the woods. I also make sure that I take a HUGE veggie tray with me to EVERY BBQ I go to and some nuts or pork rinds (no carbs at all and I still get a salty crunch to go with my beer). Those are my snacks. Even if I can't afford a can of nuts for everyone at the party, I buy some of those $.99 packs and put them in my pocket for when someone offers me some chips I can say, "No thanks, I'm good!!"
If you want a burger, don't hate yourself. Burgers are my #1 favorite food. What I do is make it exactly how I want it and cut it in half and either give the other half to my daughter or my husband if they are there with me, or offer to split with someone or THROW IT AWAY. That way you aren't even tempted to eat it. I have even been known to take my low carb tortillas with me and slice my burger to wrap it. Everyone knows I'm dieting and they can bite my butt if they don't like what I'm doing. lol I also carry my protein water and sweet and low in my purse that way I don't grab a soda.
