I just went back to work on MOnday...I teach and haven't seen most of my colleagues all summer. Some folks were so happy for me...and some make kind of rude comments...like "I can't imagine you ever being skinny"...things like that. Even my assistant made a comment "I don't see this weight loss that everyone else is noticing"...what's up with the negative people? My stepdaughter's mom told my stepdaughter that i have a big ugly forehead. so when she made a comment about it i just said..."well, my forehead keeps growing...so it makes the rest of my body look smaller". That made me feel kind of better.

Guess what....its called JEALOUSY!!!! Women are the worst at it! dont go looking to them to find compliments, thats what were here for. They dont know what you are going through and how much you care about yourself. As for someone who says I cant see you skinny they might just like you the way you are, but if not prove them wrong, well you cant ever see me skinny? you better start imagining! for the assistant that cant "see" the weight loss, he/she can and he/she is jealous that you look good! As for the rude comment from your daughters "step Mom" yeah exactly its her "step mom"of course shes gonna be jealous of you

when you start dropping weight-alot of people that are close to you or you know get jealous of your success and will try to make mean comments to make you feel bad becuase they know you look good and feel good. just ignore them all!

It may not be intented to be negative. It seems to me that they might have been trying to tell you that they never viewed you as overweight to begin with.

I had a coworker who got a gastric bypass. I was so surprised she had it done as I never thought of her as being that overweight. I remember commenting on that to her too. Now I wonder if she took that as a negative comment whereas I meant it in a much different way.

Congrats on your weight loss, by the way!

Well as far as the pic shows....you look beautiful!!! I say to hell with those that can't bask in your accomplishment and happiness! Let them live in their own misery! Don't walk on their side of the road!

As for what they are saying now....it is nothing! I mean, this is just preparation for the latter....meaning that what the hell do you think will be said or thought when you actually reach your goal??? So this is a test...smile and let it roll. What matters is that YOU have taken control of YOU and your life/health. I say keep doin' you!

I agree with what everyone has said here. I am experiencing the same at work. Those of my friends that are fit and beautiful are congratulating me and sharing in my excitement, but those that do not take care of themselves and are otherwise and overall bitter have either made snide comments or have not said anything at all even though I have caught some of them blatantly staring at me!

Some women are just catty and mean. You should be so proud. You look absolutely beautiful!!!

They are only trying to bring you down. All of the people that
have said negative comments to me.. were all alot heavier
than me.. So. I say. Look in the mirror at yourself.. and lose

I'm puzzled as to how another teacher/assistant can be so rude. What would happen if one of your students caught on to doing this? Teachers are supposed to be our motivators, inspiration, and all things teachers.

Sorry, I have kids in school. It p*sses me off to know some teachers talk like your colleagues. I stop and think, just because one of my kids come in with something rude to say, that they learned it from another kid. Go figure, they could have learned it from one of the teachers.

If you think it's because of jealousy that these people are making rude comments, ask them if they would like the number to your doctor. Not all people are straight forward. They think that making little remarks here and there, they'll end up with some of the goods that you know about.

You look beautiful!!! Don't let anyone get you down.
