In my research of meds, I came across some interesting info regarding some generic meds vs name brand. For those of you on phen 30mg, you may want to read this. You may or may not already know this but, it appears that the blue capsules are equivalent to Fastin, while the yellow ones are not. ??? I found this info on eMedTV and have copied it for you here:

"An Overview of Generic Phentermine
Phentermine is a prescription weight-loss medication. It is chemically related to amphetamines and is approved only for short-term use (for just a few weeks).

There were numerous different brands of phentermine available in the past, including:

* Fastin®
* Ionamin®
* Obestin-30®
* Oby-Trim®
* Ona-Mast®
* Pre-Sate®
* Tora®.

However, these brand-name products are no longer available. One brand-name product is still available (Adipex-P®). There is no generic available for Ionamin, a long-acting form of phentermine that is also no longer available.

Strengths of Generic Phentermine
Generic phentermine comes in the following strengths and forms:

* Phentermine 15 mg capsules
* Phentermine 30 mg capsules (blue color), equivalent to Fastin
* Phentermine 30 mg capsules (yellow color), not equivalent to Fastin
* Phentermine 37.5 mg capsules
* Phentermine 37.5 mg tablets.

Strengths of Generic Adipex-P
Generic Adipex-P tablets and capsules are available in one strength -- phentermine 37.5 mg. Other strengths of phentermine are not equivalent to Adipex-P.

Is Generic Phentermine as Good as Adipex?
All generic medications must undergo certain tests to compare them to brand-name medications. The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) then looks at these tests to decide if the generics are equivalent to the brand-name medications and assigns each generic a rating. An "AA" rating means that the FDA has determined that a generic medication is equivalent to a brand-name medication. All of the generic phentermine 37.5 mg tablets and capsules currently available have an "AA" rating, meaning they should be equivalent to Adipex-P

However, generic medications are allowed to have different inactive ingredients than the brand-name medication. This might include fillers or dyes or other ingredients that may cause problems for people with allergies or sensitivities."
