Cost of Weight Loss Clinics--MY DR. IS DONE!!

Ok so, I posted earlier about how my Dr. was closed til the 18th of July due to illness...well now his message says CLOSED INDEFINATELY!!j He is really old and i guess maybe he's retiring, but I need to stay on my diet and get more weight off and I need a n ew DR!

So, we do have a med weight loss clinic around here, but I always thought it was too expensive. I know a lot of you go to clinics and i would think the price would somewhat be the same so can anyone tell me how much you pay? I know there's usually an initial visit which is more, and then how often do u go? Do they give u your phen right there or do u get a script?

There are NO other docs around that I know of that deal withphen. And the way my insurance works is that it would have to be preswcribed by my primary and I love her, but she does not believe in phen, i tried!!! So I pay out of pocket for the appts and the meds, so that is why I am concerned. Please please help!!!!

Where are you located? The ones here in Denver cost about $250 for your first visit, but I don't know how much after that because I wouldn't even pay for the first visit. There is one in Colorado Springs that charges about $125 I think, but he is a doc, it's not a weight loss CLINIC, per se.

I'm in New Jersey, the southern part. For some reason, the only way to find a diet dr is word of mouth around here, and there just isn't anyone! But like I said there are like 2 medical weight loss centers around my way. I just don't know if i can afford it....

make sure you call the clinics to find out of they prescribe any weightloss pills like phen. They are usually very up front on the phone and informative.

The one I go to that is a chain in NC is 120ish for the 1st visit and 60 for every monthly visit after. First visit is 1-2 hours, you learn about their program, bloodwork, etc. Our doctor writes a 30 day script and you go to any pharmacy you want and get the pills at an extra cost. Some clinics elsewhere sell you the pills right out of the dr. office I've heard. The pills are like $15 a month at costco. Most clinics don't take insurance. And if you are already paying full price for your office visits, it will probabaly work out to be about the same.

I know there are some other people on this board that go to the same clinic I do, and we all really like it. I just had my 2nd dr. visit and everyone remembered me and stuff about me, even though it was a month later. Its much more personal and they really offer alot of support especcially when "prescribing phen" is the only thing they do.

My clinic is $120 for 2 months, which includes bloodwork and phen. Before I found this one, I went to a bariatric dr, and their program was outrageous! Costing anywhere from $600 to $200/month, not including the $300-$150 sign up fee. I wish I had called ahead on that one!

i don't get phen at the clinic where i go, but they do offer it. i started going there because i planned on getting it. i had called first to ask about the price. they said the dr. visit, a weekly weigh in + b12 shot, AND a month supply of phen is $99. not bad at all! they give you the bottle of phen right there at the clinic. heck, that might be cheaper than the doctor! oh, and the first visit is the same price.

I'm in Southern California so I don't know how our prices compare to your area but I paid $169 for a 10 week program that includes the pills (which I pick up weekly at the clinic) and B-12 injections. I also opted to get an additional combo shot that is B-12, B-6 and hCG. That is an additional $15 a week. Although, since I signed up for a months worth I get a free week. I don't know about other clinics but at my clinic you can make weekly payments for your program and if you want additional suppliments. I checked another weight loss clinic in my area and they wanted between $200-$500 a month. Now way was I going to pay that.

I did a lot of calling around before I found a program that I believed to be a reasonable price. You may want to check your towns advertising circulars. That is where I go the lead for the clinic I go to.

I go every 2 weeks get my pills and shot and its 53 dollars.. So for my shots and pills I pay 106 a month.I dnt think its that bad!!

I just went to my regular doctor and asked her to put me on a health plan. The first visit cost me $160.00, which included blood work for thyroid, diabetes and so on. Each month after that costs me a flat $45.00. Our insurance doesn't pay for wieght loss, so its out of pocket. I get 30 phen ever month at our local pharmacy with my docs prescription, it costs me $14.00.

My insurance pays for my weight loss clinic. So far anyway, i had my initial visit this week and now i have to go for blood work and an ekg. I had to go to my PCP to get a referal which he gave me and he gave me 6 additional visits for my insurance to cover.

I TOTALLY copied most of this info from sMaria11, here on the site. Otherwise, I googled phentermine NJ and surprise, this site had the most answers. They charge 90 dollars for the visit and meds combined. They give 30 Phen 37.5mg and 30 PhenD 35mg. I think they also have a two week plan for $60.
