So my doctor gave me a prescription for phentermine.
I really dont know what to do! I mean im sure it can help me lose weight, but on the downside i dont want to become dependent and it's very expensive in the long run.
what should I do?

Phentermine.com has no influence on adverts that are displayed on this Forum
im just not so sure that I should start using phen.
I mean ive heard a lot of things about it and its expensive. I dont think I can afford it.
If you asked your doctor about it then obviously you are interested in them. Did you ask him or did he recommend them to you???
No one can tell you what to do. This is gona have to be YOUR decision. The phen DOES work as you can tell from all the ladies and men on this forum that have taken it. There is a web site you can go to and get a drug card to maybe help with the cost.
www.freedrugcard.us
Go to that link and sign up for the card and do a search for your pharmacy and town. It will give you the approx. cost of the pills.
Go into this open minded and know that sooner or later you WILL have to give them up, all at the discretion of your doctor. You can try them and if you don't like them stop taking them. I'm sure that won't be the case if you take them for a week or two. You will enjoy the weight loss so much that the side effects won't matter. I've had mine for 2 weeks. I did have to stop taking them because of a side effect but once it went away I started right back. I'm by NO means an expert on this subject just telling you about my experience. Some of the other ladies can give you some more information but ultimately it's YOUR OWN decision.
If you have script coverage.. it should be covered.. I only pay $10/month for mine.. Cheaper than McD's for a month LOL!

You must look at your past experience with dieting. Phentermine is the only thing that has helped me. My blood pressure has gone down and I am healthy as ever. I don't regret spending any money on phen. It is worth every penny. Yes, it suppresses your appetite but you have to eat healthy and excercise to reach your weight loss goals. I hope that you reconsider and just try it before you count it out.
I pay $28 a month for mine. If you look at how much people spend on eating out a month...You can spend $28 at a nice sit in restaurant on one meal (for example Red Lobster). I have had WONDERFUL results on Phen and that price is well worth it. If I were you, I would try it for at least a month. If you don't feel like it's for you then stop taking it. It's worth a try!

Total Weight Loss
Well have you had luck with losing weight on your own? If not then the money spent is worth it. Your health risks with being overweight can cost alot more in the end then a few months of phen. Try 37.5 dose break it in half then you turn a 30 day supply into a 60 day supply. Good Luck!
thanks guys for all the info.
I gonna go ahead a give phen. a try. Worst case scenario it doesnt work out.
Wish me luck...
My phen only costs $19/month. I printed out the discount card and took it to Walgreens. It cut my script by $12 each month. I will have to find that thread and bump it so that you can print it out. Phen is one of the cheapest weight loss pills. Meridia is around $100/mo
I pay $70 every 3 weeks, but that's for the doctor's appointment, B12 shot, and the pills. I don't mind it. I spent less on food on Thursday than I ever have. So it evens out.
You have to do what is best for you. But I agree with the other girls, it's much cheaper than eating unhealthy food.
If you take the Phen, eat right, drink lots of water and excercise... The Phen will work! And trust and believe we all pay the price at the Pharmacy but it is SOOOOOOOOOO worth it.![]()
Good luck!

Here's my experience...
1. Phentermine, because it is a stimulant, eleminates the depressive, negative edge of my self image because of my weight. When I'm on phen, I cannot sit at home all day Sat. & Sun. moping; I have the desire to get outside and walk, hike, or go to the gym. When I'm at work, I no longer count down to lunch and the afternoon snack. I have to schedule when I eat simply because I'm not hungry and I wont eat while on phen.
2. Regardless of cost, I needed phen to kick-start my weight loss. The psychological change is next to miraculous.
