As being rather busty (38 DDD) this is a topic near and dear to me. I have seen many women wearing the most unsupportive bras that there pant's waist band does a better job lifting them up. I am so sick of beautiful women being plauged by the evil "quadra-titty" (this is when your boobs are to big for your bra and they spill over causing you to look like you have 4 breasts)

So as a bra expert, and I encourage my fellow bra experts...to share with women the importance of spending a few extra dollars to make sure their girls are in place. A solid $60.00 bra is a heck of a lot cheaper and less painful than breast lift surgery...it will be an investment of a lifetime.

So...I will start the BEST BRA COUNTDOWN with some of my personal favs....price...and where to purchase:

1) THE BEST BRA IN THE WORLD: FANTASIE BRAS (full and demi coverage --smooth with no lace and comes in black and nude)
A well spent $56.00 and can be found at: Nordstroms, Neimans & Saks.

2) RUNNER UP: A more molded cup which lifts nicely are bras by LE'MYSTERE. These bras have made their way onto the Oprah show and do a great job...my only gripe is that they tend to stretch out a little, but they are great protection for nippleitus. They run between $55.00-$65.00 and I have had luck with all their styles, you can find them at: Nordstroms, Neimans & Saks.

3) SEXY WITH CLASS: CHANTELLE BRAS, they are beautifully made French bras and they will last a long time. They also provide support and come in a variety of different styles and fabrics. They run between $50.00-$90.00, however they do go on sale as low as $30.00. You can find them at: Nordstroms, Neimans & Saks.

4) MORE AFFORDABLE STABILITY: I have found that some of the Cacquie (however you spell it) at Lane Bryant have provided decent support and are more affordable. My personal fav is their molded cup bras (similar to Le'Mystere) and their size range is great, I believe 36-46, B-G. They cost around $30.00 but they are always having specials.

5) THE PLUNGE: As being a well endowed female, I am not a fan of Victoria's Secret. However, if you are going out for that special evening or have a low cut clevage showing shirt than this bra may do the trick...(IT SHOULD NOT BE USED FOR DAILY WEAR) The VERY SEXY Infiniti Edge Bra might work for you and it costs $44.00.

So...don't be shy, post and if you have any questions, please let me know! Good Luck!

Thanks for the tips. I am a 36F and I have tried many different bras in my lifetime and there is only one style that I wear and it has great support, puts them where they are supposed to be and is pretty at the same time. It is from Fredericks of Hollywood Full Smooth Sensation Bra for only 28. Ihave tried the $50-100 bras and they are good for like the first month but then the elastic and everything gets all stretched out and no longer supports. This is the best bra for me and I have been wearing it for about 12 years now. Everyones boo*ies are different so this one may not work for others.

I will have to go and check out some of those bras you mentioned, I am always looking for a new one but yet to find it... Maybe this is my chance.

Hahahahah....I've often suffered from quadra. . .as I've gone from one size to the next and refused to admit it.

I wanted to add, pretty often you can find Chantalle and Fantasies at a significantly lower cost at TJ Maxx, Marshalls, or the like. Sometimes they still have the nordstroms tag on them.

I am also a fan of Fredrick's of Hollywood! I was in a 38 DD. I too like the full support smooth sensation satin bras. They are very supportive, but are sexy at the same time. The only drawback is that the full support style has extra seams in the cup for support that sort of show thru if you are wearing a thin shirt. I also love Fredricks' Strapless bras. The extreme cleavage strapless is very supportive and stays up. It is availabe in a D cup, but when i was a DD was able to wear it comfortably.

I now am in betwen sizes, I am measuring a 34 in band but really need a D and a half. But there is no such thing, so i am wearing the DD.

My bras are from Victoria secret. I've noticed lately that they're not as supportive as they used to be. They're very comfortable though. I noticed the other day that i have to retighten the strap each and every time I wear them. Is this because the bra is too stretched out or my bra just is not the right size? It's confusing!! I want my girls to "see" the world, not look down at my toes!!!

I am never able to find bras that fit just right.

Any one know where you can get 32 DD's at?

I worked at Victoria Secret (worst job ever) for about 6 months. It was so sad cause when a new bra comes out all the girls get a free one for working there. Well, when i was there, the stopped carrying DD's- which is ridiculous....so i never had the chance to get a new bra. but i did raise enough hell with the big guys in the company, and got them to carry bigger sizes again.

To bra fit yourself:
1. measure around your ribs right under your 'ladies'.( make sure you are not pulling to tight, but keep it snug)- this is your #

2. measure around the largest part of your bust.

3. take the 2nd# and subtract the 1st #.

4. the difference between the 1st and 2nd # is your cup size.

ie, 1-a 2-b 3-c 4-d 5-dd and so on.
this may not be exact, but it will give you a better idea as to the right size.

me: 37 around ladies
32 under ladies
5 difference
so im a 32 dd.

hope this helps.

Thank you very much. I'm going to measure tomorrow at the gym. Hope it's not a lower number since I've been losing weight, cause I'll cry!!! It took having two kids to get these girls and I don't want to lose them! *sniff*

Thanks lee$saw, I tried that and I was 40 up top and 33 below so that is 7 inches and would be an F, so I guess I am wearing the right size. I always heard to that a lot of people tighten their straps to much. The back of your bra should be level and fit around the rib cage. Hopefully that makes sense. basically the back should be level with front. Alot of times people wear the bra where the back of the bra is up towards the top of the back..

Proud 2 B - That sounds like a bad bra or the size around kmay have been to big if the cup fit right. I have had that problem but for me it was that the cup was too big..

Thanks Ladies! Great to know that there are nice looking bras available for D+ sizes. I missed the time when I was a full C and able to fit in any cheap, sexy bra! Now it's hard to find one that fits nicely AND looks decent. Most bras for D+ sizes look like they were made for grandmas! I don't even want to look when I'm wearing them! I will definitely check out Fredrick's of Hollywood!! I'm sure my hubby will have a kick out of it!

I am also a 40DD.
The best bras I have found here in Oklahoma are at Kohl's. For around $30 they have a Playtex minimizer bra and a Bali minimizer bra for extended sizes...I have never found a good support bra at Lane Bryant.
