Default South Beach Diet and Resolve just disappeared
I have tried to start this diet for the last 4 days and I guess I have no resolve, because the last for days I have had carbs and not the good ones. I'm talking about fried foods, tortillas, ice cream. I'm disappointed in myself and resolve to take control today. After all, don't I control what goes in my mouth? Nobody was shoving ice cream down my throat. LOL

So is anyone else doing South Beach or low carb or healthy carbs? Did you just make up your mind to eat healthy and that was the end of it? Ok, I think I will have to break down and keep a food diary as much as I hate it and be accountable.

If anyone has comments suggestions please feel free to post.

(note) still learning my way around this forum so if I posted this in the wrong place, please feel free to move it.

I too LOATHE keeping a food diary - but it works.
I LOATHED all the so-called experts saying this is KEY - but dang it, for me - they are right. It's just one more step in me being held accountable. And for the record, I LOATHE being held accountable. LOL

Suggestions: Do not get confused on LOW CARB - that terms really turns some off, it's not NO Carb, it's LOW carb.
Search the posts there are hundreds of LC recipes out there

Good luck w/ your new conviction of being healthier starting today!

Been there down that. I agree with Raquel. This may sound weird, but one thing that helps to keep me focused, is using ketostix (sp?). Something about watching that little stick change to a deeper purple over the course of a few days is very motivating.

I know it strange, but it works for me.

Default thanks for the tips and suggestions
I started searching for some new recipes last night and have few I can't wait to try.

I think my problem was not being prepared. Saturday I went to a restaurant to celebrate my cousin's high school graduation and her parents bought big platters of fried food for everyone to share. Now if i had been thinking straight I could have orded a salad and/or something grilled. It was definitely on the menu, just didn't think about it.

Similar things happened other days too. I just need to be more firm.

Can you get the Keto sticks at a drugstore, or do you have to order them online?

thanks again for the tips.

You can get the sticks at a drugstore. I got mine from Walgreen's for about $12. I believe there are 100 count.

I try to watch my carbs. I'm diabetic, so I should be. Honestly, I can't eat the South Beach food, it takes so bad to me. I stick to weight watchers, healthy choice and lean cuisine. Too bad I'm not rich so I could hire a personal chef and never have to worry about making the choices.
