Wink Phen + Vitamins Question
I have used phen several times over the past few years. Sometimes they seem stronger than others. (I have gotten them at different places) I just went to a new doctor today and he gave me the pills in his office. (it is a weight loss clinic) The brocure he gave me suggests taking several vitamins along with the phen. I was wondering if anyone else has tried taking vitamins and if they helped with the weight loss?

Here are the vitamins that were suggested-----Omega 3, Coral Calcium, Q10, Glucosamine & Pomegranate.

He didn't mention them, but it was in the brocure. I know that taking 2 fiber-con before eating helped in weight loss before when I was on phen. He also was very aggresive in not skipping meals.

I'm going to give it a shot--- we'll see how it works for me!!!!!

They are all vitamins that you can buy at Wal-Mart or any other store that has vitamins. The Coral Calcium says it has been clinically proven to make you loose an extra 3 pounds a month. We'll see..............

I bought the Women Vitamins from GNC before starting Phen. My doctor told me today that I did not need to take the pack of 6 vitamins because that maybe a little too much. Since I started Phen I only take 3 pills one day and the other three the next day. I will get just one multi-vitamin. I did not know about the other Vitamins. I have to get some of that Calcium Coral!

Coral Calcium is a form of calcium that comes from the ocean (crustacea, corals, ect) it is believed to be more easy to asimilate then regular calcium. it comes in seveal forms, but the most popular is the kind you put in your water as it supposedly has a higher absorption rate. If you have an allergy to shelfish I would suggest reaching for another form of calcium. The main reasons calcium is recommended for dieters is for two reasons. one most people cut out dairy products when dieting which can leach calcium from your bones, second calcium is an essential nutrient in the distribution and allocation of fat cells. thus calcium will help you lose weight because it assists in the burning of it. Every women should take calcium it is very important for preventing osteoporosis, fat loss should be a happy side note. Remeber your body can only absord so much at a time, so split your dose up through out the day. Also if you take it right before bed it is supposed to help you sleep better.

CoQ10 stands for coenzyme Q 10. it is a coenzyme present in your cells and assists with replication. as people age there cells contain less and less CoQ10. it is believed the CoQ10 is a contributor to the aging process and by adding it to your diet you can help slow the process. It has been shown to help with heart disease and some age related problems.

Glucosamine is a natural compound found in the cartilage of joints. it assists in synthesizing glycosaminaglycan which builds cartilage and strenghtens the joint. it is also beleived to assits in adding synovial fluid and hydrating the joints. You have to be careful with glucosamine however as not all brands are formulated in the same way. it needs to be formulated correctly or the body cannot absorb it in pill form and you just get expensive pee. CosaminDS from Nutramax laboratories is one of the most tested brands of glucosamine. it is clinicaly proven to work. it has a special formulary that is different then many others. infact several other drug companies (including the kind found at walmart) have used the cosamin brand in their trials, then they go back and formulate the pill with a less expensive manner. it is hypothesized that this changes the effectiveness of the medicine.

lastly, Pomegranite is a fruit that contains LOTS of antioxidants. Drinking pure pomegranite and/or acacia juice is supposed to be packed full of antioxidants. need I say more

Hope this helps answer your qustions about the nutrients recomended by your Doc. I was a Molecular biology major in college, so I get really excited about this sort of thing. I love how cool our bodies are and how they fuel themselves Sorry if I bored anyone.

pre-natal vitamins will not make you gain weight. They simply have more iron, folic acid and b vitamins in them. stuff pregnant women need more off. it shouldnt hurt you, but its a weird thing to recomend.

Thanks for the information on the vitamins everyone. Maschka1, my son is a student at Temple University and he's also a Biology major. But I think he's interested in endocrinology. He'll come in handle for me when he graduates. Thanks again..I love the fact that we have so many intelligent people on this board. My fiancee is a Pharmacist but I don't ask him much because he answers in a snooty way, as if I should know most of what I'm asking.
If any body see a difference with the Coral Calcium , please let me know

The Glucosamine taken along with the Pomegranate is supposed to help the skin elasticity, which is important when loosing weight. It also helps reduce wrinkling and sagging (according to brochure the doctor gave me). Anyway, I'm going to try it. What can it hurt????
I started the Coral Calcium today. I'll see if it helps with the weight loss and report back!!!
Also, the doctor said to eat a protein snack every 3-4 hours and only eat 20-50 carbs a day.
I really hope this works!!!

Hey Maschka1, what is the difference in Coral Calcium and Calcium Pyruvate?? And as far as helping you sleep, is that true with just regular Calcium-D??
