Have any one tried the HCG shots?

I read a post where someone had the shots and it didn't do much on weight but it distributed her fat so that her stomach and waist became slimmer. Has anyone else tried this? My Weight Doctor has never heard of this.

Hi! I get a shot of HCG, weekly. To be fair and honest, I think that the phen, diet and exercise are helping me more than the HCG. I was going to go off of the shots for a month and see if it was doing anything, but I keep forgetting to talk to my doc about that. The only bad thing I have noticed about the HCG shots is that the hair on my face is getting really out of control. Before I started the injections, I would just have to wax my upper lip area, and now I have to wax my cheeks and chin too. Thank god for waxing. My mom seems to think that maybe my body is reacting weirdly from all of the weight loss, but I am pretty sure that it is from the HCG, because it is a hormone. Good luck, definitely research it before you do it.

I have been getting the shots since December. So far, I have lost almost 20 inches and about 30 lbs. I get a shot every day for 5 days, take two days off. This continues for 8 weeks and then no shots for 3 weeks. You build up a tolerance. The weight loss is not dramantic but the inches and sizes are amazing. It is very noticeable.

That is amazing! Those of you that have lost inches how many calories are you eating a day?

Do you really think its the HCG and not the diet & exercise?

My clinic offers it, but i have been reluctant to try it...just scared a bit i guess.

Any weird side effects?

I checked the web and as with the phen, you have some people saying don't waste your money, and than there are others that loves it. One site stated that you were put on a very low calorie per day..something like 500 and the HCG makes it tolerable to do that. I would like to try it for a month. The side effects can't be worse than the Phen. My doctor doesn't give the HCG so I have find one that does. Hope it not too expensive.

I am eating between 800-1000 cal a day. It has to be fat free or very low fat or it does not work. I can't say for sure that it is the HCG but other than the shots, I have not changed very much in my lifestyle. I have a very active job that requires me to walk an average of 3 miles a day. (I tracked it using a pedometer. I am close enough to walk to work most days, 3 miles round trip and I work out on a regular basis. I have always been one of those "fat but fit" people. I can do a thirteen minute mile and bike at 12mph. But was never able to lose weight. After being convinced that muscles weighs more than fat, I decided to try one more time to get to a weight that is not considered "obese". So far it is working

I took an extra week break this time around, I was on vacation and knew I wanted to eat things that were not receommended with the HCG and I start back tomorrow. I actually lost another two lbs.

The shots are not too bad. Very small needle and I rarely feel it.

I found a doctor in philly but he said his HCG is a tablet you put under your tongue. I think I want the shots. It might work better. I have to do something. I workout 5-6 days for 1 1/2 hours..very light weights..my calorie intake varies. I cut back sweets..( 3 hershey kisses ). I am lost weight the first week on phen, and now NOTHING. I have to see the doctor again on 6/14 but I don't want to waste more money if I'm not going to lose any weight. Hope HCG or something else kcik start this.

Another Philly girl around here is nice. From what I have read, the pills are not the same thing. Only the shots are effective. There is a Yahoo group where people mix their own HCG and hold it under the tongue, (sublingual) They claim it works but I have problems with order drugs from overseas.

I will check with my doc if there is anyone in Phila that gives the shots. Try calling the clinics and asking.

Wow your doc has never heard of Human chorionic gonadotropin,it's a peptide hormone produced in pregnant women,it's often thought it helps with weight loss.
