Question Food.
Hello All.
I'm going to a music festival next weekend where I will be camping. I know I'll get plenty of exercise from all the walking and dancing I'll be doing, but am worried about nutrition. The food vendors will most likely be expensive and be serving a lot of things that I shouldn't be eating on a high protein/low carb diet. Therefore, I need to come up with a plan for taking my own food. I will have a cooler that I will try to keep cold, but I'm not sure how easily I'll be able to obtain ice. I most likely will not have access to a portable stove. So, that leaves me with things that won't spoil too easily and don't take much preparation. Any ideas?

They just did a big news story with a nutritionists around here that says that the "cereal" type bars and things like that are MUCH better for you than the "protein" bars that are available. I would look into taking several varieties of the bars to grab and go. They are portable and fairly healthy if you find the right ones.
Started Phen 4/24
Week 1 thru Week 5 5/29 Lost (-18)
Week 6 thru Week 9 Lost (-2) (gained a cast and NO phen for these 3 weeks)
6lbs from original goal!!!!! WOOOHOOOO

That's what I was going to say, cereal bars and Gatorade. I know it's high cal and blah, blah, but if you are going to be hiking, you need those carbs and electrolytes. That's just my opinion, at least one bottle of Gatorade per person, the rest water. It's just for the time being.

Oh, and fruit. Maybe take some apples and oranges.

For low carb you could take Slim Jims to munch on, although they won't hold you as good as something with some carbs in it (IMO)

For the fried stuff the vendors sell, try to peel off whatever breading may be there, and go from there! You can also get those containers to go that you make tuna salad with and spread on those crackers that come with it, that wouldn't be too high carb I don't think. Good luck, and have fun!

Thank you, everyone! Unfortunately, I'm not allowed to drink Gatorade or eat fruit.... but I'm sure they would be better than some of the junk they are selling. I definitely plan on taking some snacky stuff: beef jerkey, nuts, peanut butter, cheese and some veggies. Of course, I'll take tons of bottled water! I'm still working the rest of it out so I can actually eat meals.

How about hard boiled eggs. You could keep them in cooler with freezer packs. As long as you keep them cooled and out of the sun they should be ok.

Tina

THIS STUFF REALLY WORKS! JUST STICK WITH IT! SIZE 22 TO SIZE 12 almost a 10!!
