    Default Anxiety

Has anyone experienced anxiety? I realize the fear of anxiety is greater than the anxiety attack itself. I just happen to experience one when I was taking Phentermine in Oct 06. I'm just starting back and although I have had no problem prior taking it (I originally started Sept. 03), I'm a little anxious about starting again. I've got about 30lbs to lose and I really want to stick with it this time.

I have had anxiety attacks before and they are so scary! I have a little bit of anxiety while taking Phen, but nothing terrible! My husband has really bad anxiety and his doctor put him on Lexapro. It actually helps! However, one side effect is a decrease in libido - - and they aren't kidding!

This has not been a problem for me. Maybe you could ask you doctor for phendimetrazine, instead of phentermine this time around. I was told you have fewer side effect using phenD. I started taking phenD at the beginnig of the year, and it worked well for me. Good luck.

Thanks for the advice. I'm gonna talk myself into taking this pill this morning. I think once I've started taking them for a few days I won't worry as much.

I think you will be o.k. I was really nervous about starting phen as well, but I am happy I did.

Ok, so i wasn't able to talk myself into taking my pill today. I'm so nervous about having an anxiety attack. I'll try on the weekend when I'm home. I didn't have this the first time I started but after having that panic attack in Oct 06 I associate any pill with anxiety. Its so hard for me to take asprin or anything. I don't want to end up with meds for anxiety and I WANT to take the phentermine because I know they work. Anyone have anything they do when they start feeling anxiety, how to talk yourself past it?

Hey hun. I deal with panic and anxiety as well. Well I guess you can say I dealt with it. I used to suffer from the two when I started taking a diet pill similar to phentermine. I began to think that I was having the attacks because of the pill, however, when I got off of them, the panic and anxiety continued. I began to see therapists who helped a little with making me feel more comfortable and secure with the issue and being kind of like a friend to talk to when I felt one coming on. Lets just say they did not help the problem, instead they temporarily made me feel better. I read a few books on meditation and mind and body kind of stuff and realized that your mind, body, and spirit are separate things. You are your spirit. Your mind and body are not you. They're just tools that your spirit uses to be a human form in the world. You control your mind, your mind doesnt control you. This helped me out soooo much. I still feel slight anxiety here and there but whenever i feel syptoms of a panic attack coming on I just remember that I control my mind. I can turn it on and off like a light switch and that is exactly what I do to keep the actual attack from happening. Now I am on phentermine and I was very nervous to start because of the association witht the pill and anxiety but like I said, I remembered that simple fact and I have been fine on the pills. Just remember that the pill has nothing to do with your anxiety or panic. These things are only a result of you being weak to your mind. Be more spiritual and in touch with your spirit rather than your mind and get your mind under control and start the pill hun. theres nothin to lose!

Also, regarding your question on what you do to avoid an attack, there are a few things I do. I notice, quiet moments are when i begin to feel them coming on the most. When this happens, I call a friend that has high spirits or is really positive or funny. This keeps my mind busy and helps me get over it. I also, begin to read sometimes if I feel it coming on. If I am with a crowd of people or with company, I will just be strong and tell myself what I told you earlier. I trick my mind into in. I show it that I am fine by avoing the entire situation. TO do this, I begin talking to a friend, or telling a story, or paying close attention to someones convo or even join in.

I control my mind, it doesn't control me. I like that! Thank you so much for the help!

I have anxiety attacks all the time and panic attacks once in awhile, but they aren't caused by Phen. I take xanax 3x a day to help and haven't had a problem with the meds at all.
