Hi, I'm new to the forum and defintely have found lurking to be the best way to pick up loads of helpful information.
A little bit of background information for everyone (this might not be the best place, sorry!). I am insulin resistance (found out about it when I was 17). I have always had problems with my weight, and I did extensive research originally because of a skin issue I was having which lead me to my doctor to inquire about it.
After being diagnosed I was put on byetta 5mcg/day. I could never handle the 10mcg and I dropped 20lbs in a year without changing too many of my eating habits, I just did not especially want to eat. I literally lost a lot of my appetite while on it. I also gained a lot of my lost energy and my body started to function so much better.
Unfortunately, byetta started making me sick (nausea related) and I quit taking it.
After gaining back the 20lbs (after keeping it off for a good year and a half) I'm going back on byetta (hopefully I won't get the nausea again).
After reading about phen for the last two-three weeks I feel I am fairly well educated about it. Of course, there is no magic pill (wish there was) but I am going to inquire about being prescribed phentermine along with the byetta. I am not sure how to come out and say "I want to be prescribed phentermine doc". Maybe I'm wrong, but I do not want them to think I think it's just instantly going to make me drop weight. I know it will take time to change my eating habits permanently (doing WW core plan for the last week because I just do not handle carbs well) and I need to start exercising more. I am sick of being unhealthy and unhappy because of my weight.
What is a good phen plan to purpose to my doctor or the norm they propose to you?
Like, 2 weeks on, 2 off, etc?
Anyway, thanks for your time!
