Default breast discharge??? TMI
Okay, for two years I have had a brownish discharge from my right breast. The doctor said it was due to my hypothyroidism. It never went away with medication. It was ONLY in my right breast.

Well, I usually squeeze my nips when i'm in the bath because I get "clogs" (white build-up in the pores of my nips) and have to get them out before they become uncomfortable. When I did it tonight, I did the LEFT breast first and a WHITE, MILKY discharge came out. Then I did the RIGHT one and got the same...not the brown discharge I've had for two years but a little while later I tried again and the whitish stuff came from the left breast again but then the usual brownish stuff came from the right.

Could it be the Phen? If not, what else could it be?

I have a similar problem (mostly in the right, sometimes in the left). I also have a lot of pain in my breasts especially around TOM. My gyno checked it out--often the breast feels lumpy and since there is a history of breast cancer in my family, she wasn't taking any chances. Everything turned out okay. It seems that during that time of the month, my breasts produce milk (evidently not unusual even if you're not preggers) and the milk ducts get clogged. She suggested doing exactly what you described--squeezing in the shower--in order to keep the clogging to a minimum.

Having said all of that, I would stll mention it at your next annual exam.

The same things happens to me and now that justlynda mentioned it, I realize it usually happens around TOM time. This has happend to me since before I got pregnant with my last child. She is going to be 2 in May and it's still happening but only when I squeeze. Had a mammo. and everything was fine. Dr. told me it was nothing to worry about.

Well, I was SUPPOSED to have TOM and I started spotting a bit Wednesday but I have only spotted a tiny bit since then..no real bleeding. I had breast milk for a long time after having my son even tho I only breastfed him for a week...and I have googled this and it seems to be a normal occurance so I'm not gonna worry about it anymore, I go to the dr. in a couple weeks so we will see what's up then.

Hey girl, I had the same thing, scared me to death. I went to see the doc and she told me that yes it is not uncommon for this. I have no breast cancer in my family, that I know of, but we did a momo and they found a lump. Ok scared is putting it mildly, they went in to remove it and when they put the needle in for the location for surgury it popped. So I was a happy camper. I went in a year later and the damn thing was back. This time they removed it. A freind of mine told me she had droped something and it hit her in the breast, and that same spot does the samething, it forms a cyst and fills up with a fluid. The doc told me that it is also a common thing in the same situation for men and women. Can you imagine a man going thru the mamo? But men get hit more often then women, usually, and get lumps, so men should keep an eye on their breast also.

I don't want to scare you with this, but it is always a good idea to get checked. Another thing is if you clean your nipples regularly then you may be just keeping the milk stimulated. I get those white looking spots on my nipples, but I also leave them alone. Ask your doctor about this. Let us know what he say's after your appt.

Lordy, I hope I don't start lactating again! If you are for some reason, Crafty, you probably should stop stimulating your breasts in the bath tub as that will just produce more milk! (I am not familiar with your clogged pore problem though, I don't know how painful that is).

With your crazy TOM and the breast discharge being clear or white...have you taken a PG test....just to make triple sure? I mean, not that you are, but you know, stranger things have happened!

FYI, I had an incredibly hard time saying "stimulating" to you with a straight face!!

I get this, I do the same thing crafty, just pinch them a bit...and oddly enough, it relieves the pressure in my breasts. I get them month round and ever since I've had my daughter has this been a problem. But then again, I'm obsessed by my breasts.
