    Default Irregular Cycles and Chasteberry

I wanted to post this because in my last thread about trying to conceive many people talked about irregular or lack of periods.

When I went off BC after 8 years, my cycle was thrown out of whack.

My GYN put me on Provera(hormone to bring on period) and it came. I then started taking Chasteberry (sold at most drug stores in vitamin aisle) and it regulated my cycles to a T 30 days each month. It also helps with overall uterine health. http://nccam.nih.gov/health/chasteberry/

Also, I forgot who commented on their use of the Nuva Ring. But I think it is a great birth control. I used it for years with no complaints or pregnancies and had very normal cycles.

Just thought I'd post this as an alternative to birth control for regulating your period, if you want to regulate and aren't worried about the birth side of things :O)

Haha! That was me! My GYN prescribed the NuvaRing for me to get my hormones on track. So far it's been okay... I like not having to take a BC pill everyday. The only thing I don't like is that when I have a BM I'm worried about pushing it out! The instructions say that if it comes out to just wash it in cold water and stick it right back in... but if it falls in the toilet I don't think I want it back in my cooter, ya know?! Sorry if all of that was TMI. Anyway, I finally got my period so it looks like the NuvaRing is doing it's job. I could use the extra BC, otherwise I think I would jump on that herbal route that you mentioned. Sounds good!

In 2008 I lost 91 pounds, but I've gained it all back... so here I am, at square one, but not for long.

I love NuvaRing, although I did get pregnant with my daughter while on it, I went right back to it. What are the chances of it happening again? lol

Whoa, scary!! I really don't trust BC that much anyway. It seems like there's too much of a margin for error. My husband and I pretty much always use condoms anyway. I like not being the ONLY one accountable for our "family planning."

I liked it b/c I didn't have to remember a pill every day...and yes you can take it out for up to 2 hours I think and rinse it off and put it back in. I used to take it out before doing the deed because it was painful for me, then rinsed it off with luke warm water and put it back in. It worked for me. Also, to make sure I didnt get my period for my wedding, I used the rings back to back for 4 months and never got a period.
That said, my period was whacked when I finally stopped taking it all together, and I haven't been able to get preggo since. But this could be because of many things.

I think if you are really careful about being precise on the days and times you remove and place a new ring back in, it should work effectively. But I am not a GYN of course :O)
