I wanted to post this because in my last thread about trying to conceive many people talked about irregular or lack of periods.
When I went off BC after 8 years, my cycle was thrown out of whack.
My GYN put me on Provera(hormone to bring on period) and it came. I then started taking Chasteberry (sold at most drug stores in vitamin aisle) and it regulated my cycles to a T 30 days each month. It also helps with overall uterine health. http://nccam.nih.gov/health/chasteberry/
Also, I forgot who commented on their use of the Nuva Ring. But I think it is a great birth control. I used it for years with no complaints or pregnancies and had very normal cycles.
Just thought I'd post this as an alternative to birth control for regulating your period, if you want to regulate and aren't worried about the birth side of things :O)

The instructions say that if it comes out to just wash it in cold water and stick it right back in... but if it falls in the toilet I don't think I want it back in my cooter, ya know?! Sorry if all of that was TMI. Anyway, I finally got my period so it looks like the NuvaRing is doing it's job. I could use the extra BC, otherwise I think I would jump on that herbal route that you mentioned. Sounds good!
