Angry When you are feeling down on yourself..

So, I worked my butt off yesterday working out and ating perfectly. I am really working hard and not losing much at a time. I am really getting down on myself and frustraed. I am going to keep pushing and working out harder and everything but just wondering what do you all do when you feel down on yourself or like you are not losing the weight you wish to?

In the past, I would EAT. Eating always makes me feel better. But I am NOT going to do that!!!!! I am going to work out harder today and hope that will help.

Sometimes weight is such a poor indicator of your progress. If you're working out you're probably looking better, your body fat % is down, and your measurements are smaller. Weight is based on so many things that sometimes it doesn't tell you enough. (especially if you're not going to the bathroom! )

Are you eating enough? Sometimes restricting calories too much will stall your weight loss.

Oh yeah, and to answer your question, I now try to do other things that actually pamper my body instead of destroy it. Getting your eyebrows or nails done costs about the same price as lunch, but it can make you feel better without making you unhealthy. Sometimes I'll window shop and think about my progress and fun clothes I can wear. Or go out to a dance club and just let go!

When I'm feeling really bad, sometimes I'll get a massage. It's too expensive to do all the time, but it really makes your body feel great!

    Hey,

I was so in your shoes last month. It was my first month on phen and I had all these high hopes that I was going to lose up to15 lbs the first month. Of course it was unrealistic. I only lost 4 lbs last month, but I so see a difference in my body. My clothes are so much more comfortable and I can actually pull my jeans off without unbuttoning them. I think we all lose weight in different ways. I've started to lose a little more (I'm down 2 lbs since Wednesday) and I'm thinking that not stressing over it is doing the trick. When I feel down, I do something fun, away from the refrigerator (I am an emotional eater as well). I take my dog for a walk or talk to a friend. Please don't get down on yourself. You are doing great, you're already down 8.5 lbs. Imagine where you would be if you hadn't started. If you get down on yourself, talk to us, we understand. Someone will always have great advice and it'll help put everything into perspective. Hang in there. You're doing everything right, it'll come.

    Good Luck

We have all been where you are today.. but even a 1/2 pound loss will add to the 2 pounds last week, to the 1 lb the week before and before you know it, you have lost a substantial amount... Keep up the progress even if the scales don't tell you what you want to hear. We didn't gain this weight overnight,,, it will take some time to come off.

What do I do? I go shopping -- shoes always fit no matter what size my pants are!.. heheehe Have a good day.

we all have days we're discouraged

its really hard when you don't see your results as quickly as you like

you just have to remember its a process and it takes time and lifestyle changes

amping up the workout is a good idea though

And I'd like to add that there is so much stuff that is going on inside a woman's body -- TOM, bloating, all that stuff, but just continue to push your water (I think that lots of water, exercise and phen go hand-in-hand for weight loss), and continue your journey - you may see just a few pounds lost one month, then next month, it's more. If you don't feel like eating, eat anyway, get your calories in so that your body doesn't shut down and go into a starvation mode. And when I read that you are determined not to eat to soothe yourself, that shows that you're strong willed, and you're gonna succeed in this thing!! Remember, we're here for you -- if you want, you can share your thoughts and feelings every day, and I promise you that every day, we will be right here to listen and encourage you in your journey. I see by your stats that you've lost 8.2 pounds -- fabulous, that is major weight loss, proud of you!!!!

I get discouraged easily and wind up putting weight back on that I lost....this time I refuse to turn to food for comfort. this is going to sound stupid but I look at the bloomingdales catalogue and see outfits that I know won't look good unless Ilose more weight..even if I don't ever buy the overpriced clothes I want to feel like it is atleast an option.....I like going by how my clothes feel. I have one pair of my favorite jeans, and right now they hurt me around my waist by the afternoon, my gut is hanging over the low rise..when they start feeling better I"ll feel better and won't be such a slave to the scale..but right now I need to see SOME kind of loss for my self esteem....
Oh and remember that when you start an exercise program the muscles hold on to water..takes a few weeks for that to even out....but don't stop working out whatever you do!
I did it!! Reached goal and have been here for quite a while thanks to low carb eating and working out like crazy! Phen didn't work for me, but that isn't to say that there aren't other ways. God bless all of you!
