Default Doctor only prescribed two months
HI

My doctor only prescribed two months of Phentermine to me. He told me take it for the two months and stop.
While doing research I saw all these side effects for just stopping and Im worried Iwill gain the weight I have lost back.
Im trying very hard - and its frustrating because I have a severe ankle injury which prevents me from doing most workouts.
Im also getting married in May and Im NOWHERE near my goal weight and Im freaking out.

I tried to call my doctor to ask him about this - the side effects - and he said not to worry that I wont be on it that long to feel the side effects and that the reason he only gave me two months was to get me through the ankle injury and then I can start really working out.

What suggestions do you have for me? Do you think I should ween off of the drug maybe the last two weeks - or just do what my doctor says?

Also - I havent changed my diet too much since starting - but have cut down my portions SIGNIFICANTLY - what diet plan do most of you follow?

Thanks!

I have read some people make theirs stretch by doing things like taking it every other day or not on weekends so it doesnt get out of their system but the pills last a little longer?
I think you come off them like you would an antideppressent, cut them in half and take them for a wk when you are ready to get off them?

My dr said I can take them as long as I need to, so if it becomes an issue maybe find a dr (bariatric) who has a weight loss program for you to join, it is more expensive but for me it is worth it.

Thank you - that is a good idea. If I have trouble going off them I will. I wish my doctor would have said that cause I love the willpower I now have and Im so worried that once I stop I wont have the willpower. Im trying very hard to make good changes now so that they stick.
Thank you for your help!
