Adipex or Generic

Is any one using the generic phen. I got my first perscription filled at CVS ($30) and my second filled at Walmart($18). The price between the two generics had such a big price difference. They also look different and the one from Walmart was not as effective and the one from CVS. The entire month I was on the Walmart generic I only lost about 6lbs. Anyone else had this problem?

The Apipex will cost me $67 insurance does not cover.

I refilled this time back at CVS($32), however I am on the apple detox right now and I am accociating all of my weight lost to it. Lost 6lbs in last 2days.

I'm on generic 15 mg from Eon Labs. They are grey and yellow. I was given 90 pills and I'm supposed to take 1 pill 3x a day. I got them from Walgreens and they cost me $93. This seems like so much more money than what everyone else has been paying! I wonder why? The only other options I have are Walmart, KMart, Lowe's and a place called Medical Arts Pharmacy. It sounds like Walmart is no good. Does anyone have experience with any of the others?

I get my meds from the local pharmacy(good neighborhood pharmacy) and my meds are white with blue speckles. They are the phentermine 37.5 I am not sure of all the different meds or alternate versions. The one I take has worked really good and I have had wonderful results... not hunger at all after 7 weeks and the weight is still coming off....

On my bottle and fact sheet, mine says which lab makes them. Does yours? If so which one is it? I'm going to do some shopping around before I refill.

Mine are kind of oval shape white with blue specks also (CVS $32).

The ones I got from Walmart are white with blue specks also, but more round and fat and the end have more a point round shape. They did not have that much effect on me. And they were cheap ($18)

How much do you pay? Which shape is your pills?

My bottle says Phentermine 30 mg cap Eon Labs.They are oval-one side is blue and the other side is clear and there are little round blue and white things inside LOL.I pay $26.72 a month at Sam's Club.That is the only place here you can get them.My price is without insurance.Mine doesn't cover them,but they are pretty cheap.Plus,we have Flex,so we get that money back anyways.

My bottle says Phentermine 37.5 . I was prescribed Adipex and my pharmacist suggested the Phentermine (generic). It is white-blue speckled, oblong-shaped tablet, imprinted V on the front and 50/30 on the back. I get my script filled at my local CVS and it's $10 for a month supply. It's covered by my insurance.

I have noticed the only ones that work for me are the ones from CVS, the ones from walmart and walgreens havent seemed as effective. for me anyway but I am kind of paranoid over that kind of stuff

I'm using the same brand as you but the 15mg. How many pills did you get for that amount??? I paid $92 for 90 15mg pills. I'm trying to figure out why I'm paying so much. :c(

Is it possible to return pills??? I just started and I'd rather get a brand that works! Would they give me a refund and my perscription back so that i could go elsewhere? I got mine at Walgreen's.

Sounds like you have the capsules. You talked about it being clear. I never thought about going to Sam Club. How long have you been taking them? I see that you are losing weight.

Yes, all pharmacies should have both brands. I don't know if they will give a refund, they might be willing to exchange them. I pay $32 at CVS for the generic brand (white oval shaped with blue specks) 35.7MG. That for 30 pills. I take them once a day usually around 10AM.

See if you can find a CVS or a Sam's Club. Those are the responses I got that agreed with me that will work.

Your perscription is only for 15MG. You might need to get your doctor to write it for the 37.5MG that's what most of us are on. That is probably why your pill look so much different than everyone elses. You can pop the 37.5MG into halfs. I had to do this the first week I was on Phen, because they were to strong for me.

The only people I hear about paying that much money are the ones that are going to places other than a doctor's office, because their doctor won't prescribe them the meds. They are getting their pills and the B12 shot along with other things. The price ranges I have heard is anywhere from $120-$150 per month.

Even though I'm taking the 15mg, the bottle says that I'm supposed to take it 3 times day for a total of 45mg. I have noticed anyone else being on that much. When my dr originally wrote the script she put 8mg. The pharmacist had to call her and tell her that the smallest was 15 but she didn't change the directions at all. I'm not sure that she has any idea what she's doing. :c(

Hey everyone!

I work in the pharmaceutical industry. The fact is the active ingredient is the same, no matter brand name or generic. It has to be, FDA regulated. Even the direction inserts, those things that many people don't read even have to be IDENTICAL to that of the brand name drug.

Hey !! Mine are yellow pills ??? 30 mg they say Apidex. Are these the right ones. I filled my ** at walgreens. Does everyone feel CVS is better. I paid 37$

I too have noticed a difference in my pills. Last month I bought mine from CVS for $37. They were small light blue ith dark blue specks. Today i started my new pills after a week of a break. I got these at Kroger and they are whit oval with blue specks and they are bigger than my other ones. I don't feel they are being effective in controling my hunger. I take 37.5 . and I only paid 22.50 for these.

Hello,
I took my first phentermine tablet today. I have the 37.5 mg oval white/blue speckled pills with A-159 imprinted on one side. I purchased from Rite Aid Pharmacy (formerly Excerds). I can say that these are NOT going to work at all. In fact I forgot I even took 1 today. I have absolutely no side effects what so ever ( which is good) however, after reading all of the other posts, I would have expected to experience SOMETHING like no appetite for starters, or even a little jittery. ITs like I took nothing at all! I am wondering if I need to switch to the name brand Adipex. I am actually starving right now...I actually have to keep REMINDING myself that I took the pill and that I am not SUPPOSED to be THIS hungry. I just want something that is going to work. I am beggining to think its this particular generic brand of phentermine I have. ANy suggestions

i just got off the phone with the pharmacy. They said that all the phentermine should work the same if they are the same doseage. all have the same indregients .

I think htere is a difference if you ask me. My friend gave me her left overs right (I know that was bad) but they were 30mg, and blue and white capsule. they worked great I mean curbed my appeitie and gave me a boost of energy.

Then I go tot he doctor and he gives me 37.5 and they are oval with blue speckles on them and they are not working as well.

So it's either that or the Pharmacy. My friend got hers at CVS and I go tmine form our local Pharmacy. I want to ask for the 30mg and go to CVS and get them filled.

It seem to me that everyone that is having a problem with the effectiveness has the white oval shaped ones with blue specks. Mine have an A 159 on them and are made by actavis.

I am pretty sure the 30mg are time released and the 37.5 are not. the dr told me hes sees better results with the 30mg. I said in another post I returned some to walgreens a while back and they took them. I have had the best results with the ones from CVS.

This is just me personally, and everyone is different. I like the adipex better than the generic. I can tell a difference big time! I take the 37.5 once a day and I have the generic now and I won't be getting them again. I don't feel like they work as well as the brand.

They lied. That is not true. If I haven't experienced the difference I would not respond. There are lots of generic brands of Phen out there and they are not the same. They are made by different manufactures. I can tell you now do not get the generic from Walmart, it is not effective.

Do you think that it ill be okay if I take two pills instead of one to see if it will increase the effectiveness? I am going to try it. I will just have a two wek supply instead of a months supply.

These are the same thing I have and I paid like 9 dollars and some change.
