panic attack while on phentermine

I recently just started back on phen for about 2 1/2wks now and yesterday i had a panic attack while at work, my first in many years, i was wondering if anyone else has had this happen to them, i'm not positive it was the phen, due to i felt fine right up until the moment of the attack, or if it is if anyone else has experienced this!

Yes, I've experienced that several times when I was on Phen in the past and not on my antidepressant/axiety medications. I could never be on phen without my medications because I get really moody and have terrible attacks in stressful situations.

Years ago I was on Phen and had such a bad attack that I passed out in my office. I was standing and fell to the floor. People heard it but didn't see it and when I came too I just pulled myself together and kept working. I was young and stressed out (I worked in accounting).

Make sure each night you give yourself me time because you need to bring those stress levels down.

Hi,
I thought it was no correlation but I did begin having panic attacks. Still not sure if it is related to the phen because I only take phen once in a while but my panic attacks got so bad (especially when i was driving), that my md prescribed lorazepam. it is okay to take with the phen. anyway, panic attacks are not picnic, so just remember it is all in your head.

Thank you all for your stories! I feel better knowing that other people have had that experience, however, i'm sorry it happened to you! So do you think i should start back slowly on phen? or cut one in half for a few days? I'm afraid if I tell my doc he will quit perscribing them.. he wasn't to thrilled to give them to me in the first place! What about taking a herbal supp. with the phen, like St.Johns Wart, or evening primrose oil?!? I would appreciate any suggestions that way! Thanks!!

I started taking phentermine for the 3rd time yesterday. The first time i was 16 it worked fine w/ no side effects. Last oct. I started it again and this May i started having anxiety attacks. They are horrible i lost all control of my muscles and was shaking like crazy while drving. I had to pull over and let a friend drive me to the hospital & it was indeed a panic attack. I left the er and went home for 3 weeks i was fine and then boom i had another 2 days before my graduation and i wasnt the same person for a week.
My family doc does not perscribe phentermine because he doesnt believe in diet pills so i have to go to another doctor to get them. When i went to my family doctor to figure out what was wrong w/ me he said it was panic attacks and demanded i get off phentermine. I did and my panic/ anxiety has just been the same at times worse. I gained back all but 4 pounds since May because of the stress of having another attack has literally taken control over me, but i have meds for it even though i just wish it would go away. My self esteem has never been this bad so im trying the phentermine again because in the past it has made my self esteem soar.
Anxiety and panic attacks are all in your head and YOU are the only person that can bring them upon yourself. You just have to learn how to get them under control.... which i am still working on. I have no clue if the phentermine triggered me into havin these attacks back in May but im hoping maybe they will go away.
