Illinois Doctors

Does anyone know of any doctors in Illinois as my usual PCP does not believe in Phen so I am looking for a doctor around the Oakbrook area.

BBrooke went to Dr. Gupta, who advertises on the radio. She lives in Naperville. I know he has more than one office...but I'm not sure where they are.

I may try to go see him b/c I'm afraid to order online again...in case they won't refill. I've also read too many posts here from people who think they got fakes.

BScars, hi. I am brand new here, too. I have an appointment with Dr. Gupta on Friday in Naperville. Also, you may want to check out asbp.org, which lists bariatric physicians by state. If you type in nutrition clinic naperville into google you should see the results. I opted for Dr. Gupta because it does pretty much sound like a sure thing that he will put you on medication. And very easy to get an appt. I have about 60 pounds to lose, and I really don't feel like explaining myself to a doctor who doesn't want to help. Anyway, I'll post my review on Friday.

Resmoo is right. I go to Gupta. Just to prepare you, the first visit is about 1 1/2 to 2 hours. They are really busy. I left with phen the first day. I have been on it 3 weeks and have lost almost 7 pounds. I am following weight watchers and go to boot camp M-F at Lifetime. I only have 12 - 15 pounds to loose and they gave me phen without my asking. It just seems part of the protocol. They take some insurance and 7 pills was $10. All I know the phen is working great and I have very little side effects because I take 1/2 of 37.5

check out your local sams club. If you have a script, the pills are only like $13.00 for 30 - w/o insurance. You can go online and look up prices in your area.

Ok thank you so much for your replies Doodles how much is the first consult with Dr Gupta I will of course be a self pay so I am wondering if it will be worth it then to buy online? Let me know how your appointment goes and good luck I am about 200 and want to be 140 so I have alot to lose.

BeautifulScars- My insurance company just received the bill for my first visit to Gupta and the bill was close to $2,000! Yikes! Had I known how much it was going to be, I probably would have gone elsewhere.

Ouch that is pricey wow it was alot cheaper for me to get it online I got the 90 day supply which only works out to be $50.00 a month so I would rather pay that then $2,000. Where in Chicago are you if I can ask?

Thank you for the reply chieromancer and yes I did try to find Victoria Adeleye but she is no longer in Lombard and I am not sure where to find her. I ended up buying my Phen offline and waiting for it to arrvie, but again thank you so much.

BScars, sorry for the long delay, but I just started class this week. Kind of crazy! And got engaged on Friday night, too! Busy girl. Anyway, Dr. Gupta was $200 for the first visit. Then it is $45 if you go every week for a follow-up, and $65 if you go every 2, 3, or 4 weeks. The first week they put me on a low dose of something related to phentermine. Didn't really do the trick so I "graduated" to the half-dose of phen, and we'll see what that does. He is very nice, staff is great, easy to get an appt. If you go on Fridays, I may see you there!

Way to go Doodles but hun I ended up buying my online a lot cheaper then seeing a doctor and all. Hope it all goes well for you and please keep me updated I will have my Phen in 2 days or so so keep in touch. Private me and let me know where in Chicago you are.

I have my first appt with Dr Gupta on Monday. I hope my insurance covers this (she said it would on the phone, but you know...).

I didn't want to re-order Phen online again - my site disappeared anyway - plus I haven't been to a doctor in awhile so I thought I should have my bp and thryoid looked at (parents had/have issues with those).

Dr. Gupta's office will bill your insurance for almost $2000 for the first visit....just in the outside chance that you are eligible for benefits....of course, I freaked out! But then I was never actually billed by anyone...Gupta or my insurance. I finally asked and as it turns out, they "write off" any charges not covered by your insurance and you are only responsible for the office visit charge.

Hey I'm new here! I know this is a pretty old post but I have the same question. I'm looking for someone in the Joliet, il area to prescribe phen or somewhere I can get it (or something similiar) online. Please let me know if you have any suggestions. I went to a Dr. in Naperville today that said he would give it to me but wanted another $400.00 for the initial consultation (2nd actually). and another $55.00 per week every week. Please help I'm desperate here!

I live in the Brookfield area but I see a Dr. Birhanu in Oak Lawn. He is an MD but works closely with a well known bariatric center out of Little Company of Mary Hospital. My visits are billed to my insurance just as if I went to see him for an ear infection and all I pay is my copay. Each month I also see a dietician which is not covered by my insurance and that is $50.00. My friend went to see him and he prescribed it for her and she is not going for Bariatric surgery. It is kind of a haul but well worth it to me!

Dr. Gupta has an office in downtown Chicago, with office hours on Monday and Thursday. The first visit was $200, which included a week supply of medication, and $65 per month plus the cost of medication, which I believe is about $20. Good luck.

Do you know how I can find someone in the FAR western suburbs? I live in St Charles and work in Palatine...near Woodfield and I can not find a doctor to get a **!!! I am desperate I need to lose 50 lbs and have been working out 5 times a week with a reainer and following weight watchers without much result...thanks!!!

I go to the alexian brothers nutrition center. Your pcp should be able to refer you to a nutritionist, and they usually are ok with prescribing meds. That's how I get mine.
