HCG has been around for a long time. Lots of people had sucess with it back in the 80s, but the trend never really caught on and lots of docs are wary to give the the injections. It works in some people, for others it doesnt. It basically is just a hormone, that helps break down areas of stored, hard-to-lose fat. And yes, it is extracted from the urine of pregnant women. In the past I took the shots for about 6 weeks. (the place i get them lets you purchase them and take them home to give yourself so you're not having to go to the docs office every week, much easier!) They also told me it was ok if i wanted to take two shots a week, as long was they were spaced out 3 days apart. I noticed a loss in inches, but not in pounds. However, my cousin lost 17 lbs in a month and a half with them and my aunt lost 20. The hormone isnt bad for you, it's also used as a fertility treatment (but in much higher doses.) I've been told that it works better for people who have more weight to lose initially, those people will see a more dramatic loss at first. I actually made an appt this morning to go back to the doctor and get more shots, along with another prescription for phentermine. Birthgrl's sucess has inspired me! HCG works for a lot of people, and if that's what it takes to jump start your weight loss, go for it!

I appreciate the post.
I know this journey we are all on is a rocky one, but we have got to keep each other encouraged. If we find something that will work, we need to share it.
Its hard enough to lose the weight, we don't need or want the extra negativity that some comments can bring.

Its totally up to you what you do and what products you try. The HCG has been a very good thing for me, I'm going to continue to get them, and when they stop working, I will continue to work out, eat right and take my phen.

I don't know where to get the shots in that part of NC, I am in Morganton. Dr. Hussein gives them here.
He is getting ready to do them so we can take them home and give them to ourselves. That will be great. It will save a trip to the Dr's office.

I can't wait to go in Thursday for my weigh in, from what I can tell I have lost 4 pounds so far...my scale is teetering between 4 and 6 pounds, depending on where I stand on it...so, that's still good, seeing the numbers get lower and lower.

tlc you are funny...The doctor I get them from has a Family practice, but he specializes in weight loss...
I guess you could contact some Family Dr.s OR contacta bariatric clinic near you, and ask them if they have a list of Dr. who specialize in weight loss.....
I'm sorry I can't be more help....Someone else here is getting the shots....umm......Angie...I think, I'm not sure where she is off hand, but maybe she can tell you where she goes..or ask miss90210ho......

TLC that was Kings Island in Cincinatti...last Summer...
I had never been there before, it was HUGE!! My family had a wonderful time...I liked it alot, I am looking forward to going again this year...I have something to prove now...last summer I couldnt' fit on some of the rides...This year....I am riding those puppies all day!

Hope2...good for you! We all find our success in a variety of ways don't we?? Losing any weight with it??

Well went to get my second shot today. According to drs scales I lost 4 lbs. According to mine which I weighed on first thing in the morning with no clothes, I had lost 7 lbs. Keeping my fingers crossed that second shot works as good as the first. I'll keep ya posted!!

Girl I have to share...Today I went to Cato's and bought me two outfits...and I am now in a 14/16...I ******d on the regular side of the store...I didn't buy anything from the plus side

I was so thrilled!!
I got the cute capris with the camisole, and the bolero jacket!!! I got a off white skirt,I needed a shirt, but I was afraid to get one on the regular side..but the sales lady told me you could wear a xl so I took it in the dressing room and it fit, plenty of room in it too...I took them both.
Never in a million years did I think I would be this size...but I am....
I am loving the injection!!!
I have my next weigh in tomorrow...I don't think Ihave lost ten pounds this week. I think I am at 6 pounds, but I will take it, Its better than nothing...
I have got to get my ticker up again....

BIRTHGRL- I called around today and you would have thought I was asking for crack! Girl....I called this weight management place and they was like"Mam I dont know who or what you are trying to call about but this is a weight managment group we dont do that kinda stuff here!" What???

I just got back from the weigh in and I have lost 5 pounds....

So, I am doing good..the lady said, this girl has lost 16 pounds in two weeks, I was like Don't hate the playa hate the game"..she laughed so hard....
I am going for 5 next week too...If more than fine, if not....oh well, but I am gonna try.

Oh and I am 5'11 or 5'10 depends on who is measuring me...but I say 5'11.

I am so proud for yous. I say what ever it takes. My Best Friend just had the gastro by pass surg about 2 weeks ago and she has lost 45 pounds. I am so excited for her. WTG!!! Well you were close that's 15 in two weeks right? I'm also hoping for around 5 lbs. when I go back. I love this stuff...hehehe. It's worth the too much money I'm spending! Good luck this week Birthgrl and keep me posted on how it's going!! Oh I went shopping yesterday, still had to buy shirt in the plus sizes but, I think thats due to the monsters I carry on my chest!! Wish they would go away! But didn't have to buy pants in the plus sizes! They were dress pants so I don't know about jeans. I didn't enjoy the shopping though, had to buy something to wear to memorial service

as one of my very good friends passed away on Monday, with cancer. So I don't know how the weight loss is going to go this week as I haven't eaten near enough or exercised or drank as much water as I should. But, I'll be back on track soon. Keep me posted Birthgrl!!! ~Angie~

Yes, I have lost 15 pounds in two weeks..I'm so excited about it..but I need to step it up..this lady I go to church with started going to my Dr. and she got only the shot, not even phen (health reasons) and she lost 13 pounds this week alone with the shot...I was like NO WAY!!! She was happy as a lark.
So, I figure if she can, I can...I mean, I did lose 10 pounds in a week..so its going to be a big thing for me this week..I have got to lose more weight this week than I did last week...Its going to be strictly water for me this week...no juice in the morning...I'm gonna get waterlogged.

Thank You Birthgrl!! Wow she lost 13 lbs in 1 week, took me 5 weeks to lose 13 lbs. Guess we're all different though. And as long as the scales are going down and not up then I'm happy. This stuff seems to be in the bodybuilding circles because of its effects on men when they are doing a steroid cycle. It affects women differently than men.

Well you were close that's 15 in two weeks right? I'm also hoping for around 5 lbs. when I go back. I love this stuff...hehehe. It's worth the too much money I'm spending! Good luck this week Birthgrl and keep me posted on how it's going!! Oh I went shopping yesterday, still had to buy shirt in the plus sizes but, I think thats due to the monsters I carry on my chest!! Wish they would go away! But didn't have to buy pants in the plus sizes! They were dress pants so I don't know about jeans. I didn't enjoy the shopping though, had to buy something to wear to memorial service as one of my very good friends passed away on Monday, with cancer. So I don't know how the weight loss is going to go this week as I haven't eaten near enough or exercised or drank as much water as I should. But, I'll be back on track soon. You will do just fine this week...if you feel like eating anything crappy, just try to deter yourself...ask someone to help you. You will be okay... Everytime you feel like eating something, send me a message...that should keep you (and me ) busy Yes, I have lost 15 pounds in two weeks..I'm so excited about it..but I need to step it up..this lady I go to church with started going to my Dr. and she got only the shot, not even phen (health reasons) and she lost 13 pounds this week alone with the shot...I was like NO WAY!!! She was happy as a lark. So, I figure if she can, I can...I mean, I did lose 10 pounds in a week..so its going to be a big thing for me this week..I have got to lose more weight this week than I did last week...Its going to be strictly water for me this week...no juice in the morning...I'm gonna get waterlogged.
