Thread: My first day taking Phen and....

    hmmmm, I have mixed emotions.

    Ok, at first I was scared my heart would race of I would feel freaky. I took my 30 mg blue and white capsule at about 10 a.m. on an empty stomach. About 20 minutes later or so, I felt "different." Not wired, just "different." I still had a hunger, and did not have a rush of energy like I expected. Just now (noon) I ate some low fat cottage cheese.

    Will eating decrease the effects? Also, I read that caffeine decreases the effects, so I skipped my morning cup of coffee. But right now I feel like a cup of coffee may "elevate" this feeling a little bit. Should I drink some? As much as I am scared of a racing heart, I do like that "nervous energy" feeling and was hoping for that!

    Are the blue and white capsules time released?

    Does it take a few days to get into the "phen swing of things?" Or should today, my first day, be the most intense feeling ever?

    I am already thinking I will get 37.5 next time. I am actually tempted to take another one, but don't worry, I won't. Thanks to this board I have read it is a no no.

    What's up with this 5HTP stuff? Should I get some?

    Sorry for the zillion questions. I just really want this to work, and I want to glean as much knowledge from you veterans as I can. Thanks for any and all help!

    Give it a week to totally kick in. The energy I feel isn't like wow let me go run a 50k, its more like hey I actually want to exercise today. Thats just me.
    Wait on the Coffee till you get used to Phen. I rarely have it, but one day I had it and felt great while on phen. 2 weeks later I had it and felt like crap! I am staying away from the caffeine.
    Don't just look at the hunger part. Notice the changes in cravings and thoughts about food.
    I take Tyrosine and 5HTP, you have to experiment with when you take it. 5htp I think has been keeping me up at night so now I am trying it earlier. Just Google them both and you will see why some take them.

    Hey dirty,

    I've been taking phen off and on (mostly on) for about 1 1/2 years, and I've found that coffee actually kicks the phen up a notch or two in the afternoon. So, I usually drink my regular morning coffee and take my phen on an empty stomach. Eating about an hour afterwards should have no effect, because the phen should be in your system by then. I noticed a difference the first day I started taking it, then the "feeling" tapered off a bit. I take a couple of weeks off and the feeling always comes back but never lasts. I have an unopened bottle of 5HTP. I just haven't remembered to take it yet. Everyone's body is different, so like Jolie said, you will have to experiment and find what works for you.

    Thanks to both of you for your replies!

    momoftwins-I actually thought about your reply a few times today (I had read it earlier) and I kind of "get" what you mean. You have to kind of focus on the way you feel. I have had a successful first day so far.

    misty-Yeah, my first instinct is to drink my morning cup of coffee, wait an hour, then take the phen. But I think I will wait a few more days before trying it, and even then only half a cup of coffee to start.

    Anyone else have any comments about any part of my post? Thanks!
