Weight loss doctor

I am thinking of trying a doctor who specializes in weight loss. Have you ever gone to one or known anyone who has? What has your experience been?

I see the weight loss Dr at my medical center. He's very supportive and was the one to suggest phen to me.

I haven't personally, but a good friend of mine goes to one. He has a weight loss clinic in Indianapolis, and she hasn't had any problems there, but it is quite expensive. There was a bigger payment at first, but now it's evened out to about $130/month. He monitors her weight, body fat %, blood levels, blood pressure...all that stuff and she's been on the medication for about 7 months. She did mention to me that she feels like she doesn't get that much attention because he has soooo many patients. But, she's an assertive person, so she makes sure he answers all her questions.

Oh, and I visit my family physician, who monitors me.....i get the script through her...but not all family docs feel comfortable prescribing weight loss meds....

I appreciate the input. I didn't realize it is that expensive!!! My regular doctor gave me the Phen too, although I think he may want me to stop taking it

I go to a doctor that is through a women's gym, it isn't expensive, like $50 each trip plus the cost of medicine. Look around you may be able to find one for less money.-
