Hey Guys,
I guess this is just a little selfish thing, but I've lost 21 lbs in my first month on Phen, and the people that don't know I'm taking it haven't said a thing. I guess it just takes time, but have any of you experienced the same?
I hear people don't notice if they see you everyday, so I'm sure that is part of it. How many lbs did you lose before it became obvious to all? Thanks
Starting Weight 276.9 (May 18, 2007)
Current Weight 210 (May 15, 2008)

I agree, I have lost a total of 15# and the only ones that have noticed is my mom (of course!), my hubby (who is always checkin me out) and one girl at work (and that is because she always sees me weigh in on Mondays)...I worked this past weekend with a bunch of people I haven't seen in a few months, and they didn't notice how huge and baggy my scrubs were on me. Let's not fret, one day it'll happen
Start Wt. 190# 5-9-2007
18 # to lose in 2008

January goal 8# Or lose 3# per month until June, that will be hitting my goal as I go on vacation!

I have lost about 15 right now and my dh says he sees a difference but i don't belive it. I don't see a difference in myself. But I would too also like to know when people notice. I think it too depends on how much you need to lose.
Starting pant size 18w, shirt 2xl, bra 42d, undies 7
Current pant size 10, shirt L/M, bra 36d, undies 6
Update: My BMI is now in the overweight category!

It is possible that people don't know if you are uncomfortable with yur weight and by saying something it is all out there in the open. 21 lbs is great and I bet they are noticing and will eventually, when he time is right, say something. Congrats on the loss!!

I've lost 17# in my first month & the lady I babysit for has said she has really noticed & another lady from church said she noticed it in my face within the 1st couple of weeks. I finally asked my hubby if he had noticed & he said yes & I asked him why he didn't tell me & he really didn't know & I told him as hard as I've been working he's gotta tell me but also my pants are loose & looking back at a picture taken in march you can tell in my face & my arms. I was sitting down so I couldn't tell anywhere else, but the exciting news a guy at church came up to me on Sunday & asked me if I had lost weight & I told him yes & he said I looked really nice & I don't even know the guy but I told him thank you, then I told my husband that a guy was hitting on me in church. So anyway people are starting to notice.

I went from 180lbs to 140lbs and a neighbor lady never said a word to me. The last time she saw me was when I was at 180 so I could not believe she never noticed the difference. I do think it is because people don't know for sure what it is that is different about you and decide to play it safe by not asking for fear of causing an uncomfortable situation.

If you are wearing the same clothes (only they are looser now) then you won't appear thinner.

Go get some new (smaller) sizes and I bet people will sit up and take notice

I got my first compliment from my DH just after I hit my one month mark, I had lost 20 pounds. Nobody else has said anything.

I am going to see family that I have not seen seen since last august and I was pregnant on top of just being plain ol' fat.

I am hoping that what I have lost will be noticable to them, if for nothing else, just for that little ego boost that keeps us going when we know that all of our efforts, sacrifices, and attempts to change our behaviors are paying off.

We rock!, losing weight is so hard because we cant avoid our vice because we need food to live, yet here we are giving it our all and winning day at a time.

Thanks guys!
The words were so encouraging. I guess I am wearing the same clothes as was before. I kind of told myself "no new clothes till you absolutely must" , to get me motivated to lose more. I do see how it would be very rude to mention weight all out in the open now that I think about it. Hey, when I reach 50 lbs lost, everyone will know because I'll be the first to tell them . Good luck on your journeys' guys!

I continued to wear the same clothes for quite awhile. I finally went and bought new pants and wow did I look much better! For me, people started noticing around a 20 pound loss. A coworker started commenting on me "disappearing." When I flew home, my mom looked at me and kinda funny and was like "You've lost weight, haven't you?" I went to see my in laws a few weeks ago after I was down about 30 pounds. I was kind of disappointed because my mother in law didn't say anything, but I figured "ah well!" Later as we were walking she kind of hesitantly said "I noticed.... (pause)... Have you.... You've lost a lot of weight, haven't you?" I just laughed and was like "Yes I have, thanks!" So, I think some people are a little nervous about saying something.

The first time I was on Phen I went from 200 to 150, and it wasn't until I was about 160 that people started noticing. So it took about 40 pounds before people said anything. That's also around the time when I had to buy some new clothes.

So, I think smaller clothes help accentuate the pounds lost, but also I think people sometimes don't say anything until it's definitely obvious...I know that's how I am!!

Just keep up the good work and the compliments will start to come from all over!!

You're doing great!
Started Phen 6/10/07

I know what you mean , you work so hard to lose those first 20 or so lbs and you want someone to notice and no one does its frusterating. I have lost a total of 44lbs so far and it took until I reached the 44 mark before most of the people started to say somthing. It was so frusterating. I wanted someone to notice how hard I was working to lose, just keep up the good work and the complements will start comming and you will have more than you know what to do with!

Oh... you have to take heart that those closest to you know you are losing and take notice. As for aquaintences and alike... it's a double edged sword to ask about weight. "Did you lose weight?" If you did great.. if you didn't that person is going to be put on the spot along with you. It's much for fashionable to simply say "I haven't seen you for xxx, you look fabulous". Or a general comment about looking great. Then YOU can tell the person why you look so great.

It's a long road.. keep up the great work.
