I have not tried Meridia but I did have a doctors appt today to get a new prescription for Phen and mentioned my NASTY moods.....I suggested Meridia and he said that I personally had to decide if it was worth it to have the mood swings or not because the results would come from Phentermine more than they would Meridia....I dont know if this is true or not it is just what he told me......so I am staying with Phen. Hope this helps

Yes my doctor told me the same thing when I went to him. I intially asked for Meridia and he told me that I would get better results with Phentermine and it was cheaper too! 30 bucks as opposed to 120 for the meridia.

Hello,
I did try meridia before the phen and it definately is a difference. I didnt feel the appetite change at all with the meridia. I did lose alittle weight in the beginning but then gained it all back. I then tried the phen and it seems to be alot more effective. The only reason why my doc had me try the meridia first was because she was worried about my heart pounding to fast which was something i definately was worried about. Another thing with the meridia was I got bad headaches. It also does cost alot more! I would stick with the phen
Im back at this agian....I just had a little boy on 1/14/08 and now need to get this pregnancy weight off I have lost 27lbs so far since giving birth but have a whole lot more to go.

My sister takes Meridia b/c Phen was too strong for her. She went from a 18 to a size 12 on Meridia. Everyone is different though.

Hi! I tried Meridia and did very well. The pounds melted. But once I stopped taking it, although I still ate a low cal diet etc. my body seemed to just collect fat. In the end on Meridia for a month I lost 16lbs and off it for 2 I gained 22. So frusterating. I wonder if it has more of an effect on metabolism! I wonder if anyone has had this same experience or any MD's or nurses out there who know?

I'd be tempted to try it again but am a bit nervous about it.
