    Thumbs up

    Dear All,

I just wanted to share my little secret with you in losing weight. I came across a book about this Japanese method to help detox and lose weight.

I ate unlimited APPLES (best choice: organic, peel the skin) for 3 full days. On the 3rd evening, drink 2 tablespoons of OLIVE OIL. This is suppose to cleanse your intestines, kidney, blood, skin...and jump start your system. It doesn't matter what kind/color/amount apples you eat, just make sure that's all you eat, no soup, no milk, no jello, just apples and water. The best is to just drink water (unlimited) and cut caffeines (soda, coffee, tea).

The first time I tried it was before I started Phen in April. I was able to lose 6 pounds in 3 days...but I have to say it was very difficult to concentrate on APPLES.

I did my 2nd round of 3 days and lost 5 pounds. It is a lot easier to complete this with the help of PHEN! Today I'm starting my 3rd round. I'm hoping to shed another 5 lbs. We'll see.

It's a very simple method and I did not have any problem with it. I tend to feel a bit sleepy/tired earlier than usual but that's not a big issue. I stopped my exercise routines for 3 days so that I don't feel weak or light headed.

FYI- If you think 3 days is too long, try 1 or 2 days of just APPLES. The trick is the 2TBSP Olive Oil that at the end that's suppose to clear all the junk in our system.

The book did advise not to go beyond 3 days for 1 round of detox. You can always wait a few weeks and repeat another round.

Again, this is my little trick that has helped me lost 11 pounds. Please use at your own discretion. Good Luck to all!

HI, I found some good information about your apple detox and thought I would post it here.

    ******************
Edgar Cayce--The Father of the Holistic Health Movement

    The Cayce Detox
Recommended in hundreds of readings was the Cayce detox, the elimination process was found to be poor and the subsequent build up of toxins and poisons was found in hundreds of people. The cayce detox was to help rid the body of these wastes. As the lay person can easily appreciate the situation in your very own kitchen if you did not clean up after every meal, bacteria would have a great time multiplying and contaminating places every where. So many thousands of people have been helped greatly by helping the body get rid of waste the importance of this action cannot be overestmated.

Cayce prescribed the three day apple diet where for three days you would eat nothing but apples of the sheep nosed type preferably organic types like Johnathons, Delicious, Oregon reds, Arkansas black and water. At the end of the third day a two spoons full of olive oil was taken. The success that people described having done this regime was uplifting, revitalizing, feeling great, an euphoric feeling, greater mental clarity and physically more energy. It is one of the most effective ways of preventing disease. In fact cayce said that it would cleanse all toxic forces from any body. According to reillys book he himself tried to detox three times a year.

Thanks for the info- I may use this when I get back from the cruise/wedding to jump start me back on the weight loss journey.
I refuse to "diet" on vacation....It will be nice to have a plan upon return.
I am going to enjoy the journey...

Some consider juice fasting to be very very good for you, including myself(i find it very hard to do more then one day though, but havent tried it on phen. I bet this is the time to do it when Phen helps me not to eat). I met a lady last year that had had cancer. In the last 5 years she had lost her sister and her mother to the same cancer. She watch them waiste away on rounds of chemo. She herself went through 3 rounds of chemo to no avail. She finally told her Doctor that she was going to a Christian Naturepath who was going to start her on a fruit and veggie juice fast and not just a couple days fasting, but a month at first. He told her he didn't believe in God or the fasting, she had better chances with Chemo. She knew better after watching her sister and mom die doing exactly watch she was doing. She told him that she couldn't just stand back and do nothing, but either the cancer and chemo would kill or fasting would but she was turning to God for help.
She did her 30 day fast and was able to continue it. She fruit and veggie juice fasted along with taking natural supplements with the aid of the naturepath. She has been in remission from her cancer now for over 5 years. She still fasts more then she actually eats natural foods. Her cancer doctor, who is now a Christian because of this, says she is the healthiest he has seen anyone. She is not skinny or waisted away at all, and she says rarely hungry. She is a firm believer in all organic and she drinks no water from a faucet(because of all the minerals we have in our water) but bottled water only.
Here is a little on how why its so good. When we eat our brain and bodily organs work hard to process everything we eat(if pulp from an orange). Processing what we eat is one of the hardest things on our brains and organs. When you juice, it gives the body a huge break, being that no foods need to be broken done in the stomach and filtered through organs. The nutrients from the juice just absorb right in and out it goes. In her case for her cancer, it allowed her Brain and her body to focus almost all its energy on attacking the cancer cells and slowly kill them off.
Fasting is good with the AID of a doctor or naturepath because it can kill if you don't do it right for long periods of time. But it is considered very healthy when done right. It can be done for short periods of time very safely, if there are no medical conditions like diabetes involved.
Ugh, I need to start juicing again, I did feel really good when I did but veggie juice can be soo gross sometimes.

Wow, thanks Need2Shed for finding some backups to this! Now I can show this proof to people!

My husband wanted to do this for 1 day for detox purpose. He had 4.5 apples since 7AM this morning and is about to quit. It is definitely not easy to do it without Phen's help!

I am just desperately wanting to lose weight. I figure this apple thing must be better than taking diet pills! I've just made an appt to do a colonix this Friday. Ok, that's freaky! But I'll do whatever it takes!

Hi Jessica6602, I'm a working mother with an 8 year old girl and a 2 year old boy. My day starts at 6:15AM until midnight. I haven't really thought about feeling "refreshed", but now that you asked, I do feel supercharged these days. I am energetic and excited about my days! My co-workers have also complimented on the clarity of my skin after the detox. I guess it's doing something good to my body!

Sorry to interrupt the forum guys but I can't help it I'm curious! I need to lose 25-30 lbs. before August 30th for a trip. This may be the answer to my prayers. And I'm not really hungry on Phen anyway so a few apples and some water shouldn't be too bad!! How hard is it to really stick to?

If you are not on any weight loss pills, you could also try the Master Cleanse, it is also called the lemonaid diet. I have done this before and it works very well!

You can get a pdf of the book for free here:

Sounds interesting! One question, do you have to peel the apples or can you eat the skin? Do you peel by taste choice or is this recommended? Hey with phen working like it is I can do anything for three days, right?

The first time I did the apple diet was before I started Phen, I had the most difficult time concentrating and felt like I was going crazy! One of my co-worker is also doing the apple diet with me (on 2nd day) and she is not on Phen. She just walked in and said she is about to freak out! I totally understand what she is talking about! It's a mental game! BUT, not to worry, if you're on Phen, you will have no problem completing this.

Definitely, with the help of Phen, I am able to complete this apple torture without any problem! It has helped me tremendously! I was afraid it won't work for me since this is my 3rd time in 2 months, but I stepped on the scale this morning and I'm down another 1.5 lbs....hooray!

Christy223, I tried to send you a pm but not sure it went through. I read that it's best to peel the skin off to avoid toxics. It's actually best to have organic ones!

sassysherri, great idea! Anyone interested in joining this challenge? I probably won't be able to do another round, but will definitely help you through this! You have 2 months to lose 25-30 lbs, I think it's worth trying! Even if you lost 20 lbs by then, I'm sure you'll be thrilled too! Go for it! I need to lose another 10-15 lbs before my trip on 8/23. We can work together!

lee$aw, sorry I forgot to answer your question.

Yes, you can eat apple sauce but make sure you pureed it yourself! The ones from the stores are too high in sugar, sodium, etc...so it wouldn't be a detox if you're eating processed food.

We need to set a date so that everyone has time to get their apples. Can you get the kind you need at the grocery store?

I definetly want to try this. I've been spiraling out of control lately. I haven't been losing weight but gaining instead. I'm very discouraged and need something to jump start me before I gain the 40 lbs I lost back. Thanks for sharing!

I am working on my Myspace page. Will let you know when it's up with pics.

I'm in! I would love to wait till after the 4th, but I think this is the answer to meeting my goal for my HS Reunion next week! By Friday night I had wanted to be in the low 130's, and I'm STILL freakin' stuck around 138-140.

I don't know if I can do it for 3 days, but I can at least try for one - I'll just see how it's going and if I can handle it I'll keep going.

I will start it on Sunday, because that's when this week's fresh foods will be gone. And if I do the whole 3 days, that will mean that by Wed I'll be back to "normal" food, and I start a new job, so that works out well.

Even if we all start this one or two days differently from each other, we can still support each other! This will definitely be a tough one... but to lose 5 lbs, I would be so psyched!

Does it give you bad gas or diarheaa (sp?) or any other side effects that we should all know about?

Oh my gosh, I'm so surprised that so many of you are interested! I can almost guarantee that this will jump start and get you going again!

2 months ago, I was shocked to see the scale starring back at me at 178! That was how much I weighed after I delivered my son in 2004! At that point, I was humiliated, just so tired of hiding my fat under larger clothings. I was totally out of control with food! I was giving up on myself!

With Phen and Apples, I regained my my self control and have lost 23 pounds as of today. Ok, enough of my story.

I won't be doing another round until late July, but would love to support those who are interested. How about starting everyone on July 5th - 7th?

LucyMay, MRSGIFFORD, Brandi99, sassysherri - it should not be too hard with phen. You will still have cravings, but just think that you will lose at least 5 pounds in 3 days!!!

lmb117 - It is still possible to do without Phen, but you'll have to stay focus and be determined. The first time I tried it in April without Phen, it was very difficult to concentrate. But just think, I've passed it, so can you!!!

Let me know if July 5th is a good day to start. If you can't make it that day, pick another day and go for it! Don't give yourself anymore excuses!

    Hi NJRagdoll, glad you're in!

We're thinking about the same thing. It really doesn't matter if we start on the same day, we can still be supporting each other!

Ok, now to the details...I actually had problem going to the bathroom...but I felt ok since I haven't been eating much. The Olive Oil on the last evening is what does the trick...it will help you eliminate on the 4th day, after your 1st meal!!! You will feel like a new woman! (I did pee a lot though)

FYI - Here's a posting from need2shed about the apple detox in case you didn't see it:

4everslim, we're so glad that you're joining. We're starting next Wednesday, so get your apples ready and come join us here!

You can actually eat what ever kind/color/size apple you wish, just peel off the skin so it's not too harsh on your stomach. This will definitely be good after eating all the MEAT!

Yes, I have major constipation with phen and I need to use stool softner or laxative....yeak.

Do the apples have to be organic? And do I HAVE to peel them? Isn't that where most of the fiber is?
    Thanks

    Shirleysyu-

I did a whole series of Colon Hydrotherapy last summer (12 sessions) and I felt great! The office also talked me into buying a bunch of pills and fiber drinks (for yeast, multi vitamins, pysillium, chlorophyll) and it was so worth it. Let me know how it goes.

Hi Shirley!! Hi Jessica!! I'm into this too! I read about this diet few years ago (in Chinese newspaper) but never thought of giving it a try as it sound as if I'll have to live in the garden to be able to do it.

I will like to start mine on a weekend and see what can I achieve.

Thanks Shirley for sharing!
